You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you that Makinde’s faction is illegal.
There was a court order restraining them from holding a convention. Instead of settling the case, they went ahead and conducted an illegal convention in defiance of that court order. It doesn’t work like that.

What's stops Wike from contesting for vice president or even president in 2031? Popularity is not a factor in winning elections in Nigeria, else Tinubu would not be president. Was Tinubu popular in 2023 before wining the presidency? Even Tinubu himself he avoids social media because of insults by the social media public. He lost all the populated and cosmopolitan centres in the country. So wike also can win the presidency.

Which freedom do we have on nairaland, legally speaking that is. Have you not read the Cybercrimes Act of 2025? Defamation has become a criminal offence, recording public officers on phone or camera has become a criminal offence.
The fact that the various authorities have not started coming after everyone who criticises the political class dies not mean they cannot start tomorrow.

Leader of both APC and PDP in Rivers and told Fubara to behave himself. Don’t be surprised to see Wike as VP to Ribadu in 2031, it’s not beyond the realm of possibilities. At the very least it shows how highly favours and rated Wike is by Tinubu. Wike is untouchable.

When it comes to politics Wike is no2 and the natural heir to Tinubu certainly in the south if not nationally. You don’t have to like him.

He will move back to his former party, the SDP or LP. Wike's PDP will present a candidate in the Oyo guber election, further splitting the votes. At present, the Oyo PDP has split into the ADC and the Accord Party. He is still a greenhorn.
