Compulsory Electronic transmission cannot work yet because we have too many communities that do not have the facilities (electricity and internet connectivity especially). The focus should be how to ensure it is used in as many polling centers as possible |

They can NEVER make it E- transmission because of rigging. Machineries are set already. Nigeria/Nigerians still have a long way to go. |

Technology does not fail, it is the corrupt people like u and them are the ones manipulates it to suit your desires. The 2023 election is a case study where the results of House of rep and Senate went through but only that of the Presidential results was manipulated, and they tagged it to be as a result of glitch. Useless country Dijita: |

gabbytabby:Identify those specific areas let’s go and test MTN and all the networks there including StarLink. If every test fails, then the bill will specifically name those centers and exclude them. Stop deceiving yourself |

carzeem1:..APC knows that if they make transmission of election results mandatory .. they will lose the election ..they just like this manual voting and counting of results manually where they can manipulate election results to their favour |

What would happen in a remote area where Internet are poor if the transmission is mandatory? |

| Re: If E-transmission Of Votes Is Not Compulsory, We're Wasting Our Time - Inibehe E by givedemwotowoto(op): 11:23pm On Feb 05 |
Iamajike:What are those remote areas, the presiding officers who manned those areas in the last election should tell us so that we can go there and test MTN, all networks and StarLink. If no network is available then the electoral ammendment names that specific polling unit and excludes it from electronic transmission. We can require a video recording of the election there. Don’t those places have Senators and rep members? They have constituency development budget. They should name the specific polling units. |

Iamajike:Very simple issue for a nairalander to solve, talk less senators and house members who are earning multimillions with full staff paid for by taxpayers. If electronic transmission fails, the system reverts to manual review. First, when the transmission fails, it records the failed transmission and holds the copy of the data and timestamp on the device. This will be used for manual audit purposes. Secondly, the same data that failed to transmit should match the data already stored on the device, still waiting for transmission when network is available. Third, the data on the device should match the physically copy signed by the party agents |

lionshare:There is no law that mandate e- transmission of election results in the US. In fact election is decentralized in US. It is run by individual states and counties, not the federal government. Each state sets its own rules for how results are collected, reported, and certified. FYI, I am not against E-transmission making it compulsory is my issue. Try to reflect on my question. What happen when technology failed or the system sabotage? |

alanto:Where is the evidence of the one with 90% rigging? You only rig when you are unpopular it is stupidity to rig in a place where you don't even need to rig to amass block votes. The 10% people clearly are the ones that rigged apparently to get 25% votes per state in that region, and to reduce the numbers of the leading canfidate there. It is common sense. |

If Mr. Effiong doesn't understand what state capture is all about, then he should get another job, certainly not that of a learned fellow. When the Executive backed by the citizens argued that it was alright for them to nominate the leadership of the Legislature, that is a President nominating a fellow President or should I say the Chairman of Club Owners nominating the Head of the Referees Association... Then the game is effectively over. It is just a pity that I'm this country we love to see things practically happen to us before we believe in their possibility. And when we see folks in better run societies fight tooth and nail to protect their liberties and keep leadership under check, we think they overdo. I repeat again. This man will get himself back into office and there is nothing any citizen of this country can do about that. And then we will practically see to our detriment what autocracy is all about. They have been testing the waters with this tax matter, dropping hints about the extent to which they are prepared to go to force you to part with your resources. Post 2027 you will see just how desperate they are. Strap in. |
