President Bola Tinubu met with Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, governor of Kwara, on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, over terrorist attack in the state.

On Wednesday, at least 75 residents were killed, with several houses set ablaze, when terrorists attacked the Nuku and Woro communities in the Kaiama LGA of Kwara state.

Rauf Ajakaye, chief press secretary to the Kwara governor, told TheCable that the victims, who were moderate Muslims, were killed for “refusing to surrender to extremists who preached a strange doctrine”.

Tinubu subsequently ordered the deployment of an army battalion to the LGA.

The President said the new military command will spearhead “Operation Savannah Shield” to “checkmate the barbaric terrorists and protect defenceless communities”.

You will be thinking they went there to discuss how to end and prevent such occurrence in future, all these are just photo ops to act like they are doing something, look, you cannot tell me that over 200 terrorists on bikes traveled from town to town with fully loaded weapons and nobody saw them moving, did they disappear and appear to the location?

These ones are not serious and sincere with the fight against terrorism, to Tinubu everything is politics and if it doesn't favour his political interest it, he loses interest.

Despite the US attack, terrorist activities still persist seamlessly.

America need to be on ground to get useful information and not just airstrikes .

Look for their hideout and engage them head on and dislodge them.

Arrest their backers and sponsors especially those in the government

The last paragraph holds the key that locks away insecurity in Nigeria for good! Unfortunately since the days of Obasanjo till date NO NIGERIAN HEAD OF STATE HAS HAD THE COURAGE TO DO SO! What is most saddening is the death of our service men who are cheaply deployed to face the terrorists who for so long were classified as “insurgents” so the Rules of Engagement can remain at tolerable level for the terrorists who are thus better placed to rub out our forces killing a Brig.Gen. in the process! What a shame!!!

Kwara is just an invasion based on an opportunity, the place is sparsely populated with rich arable land for livestock thus the Fulani agenda can be well established,with a population easily amenable to Islam, some radical islamic/Fulani idealogies are much tolerated and given the momentum to thrive then you understand that Kwara is at a great strategic location...It shares an international border thus smuggling routes and contrabands will be highly sought for, we are talking guns ,drugs and human beings.It is remote from the federal center,so before any 'order from above ' gets to them, massacres, kidnappings and other heinous crimes have already been perpetrated. Then Kwara is also a gateway to the north thus escape, reinforcements and supplies routes are very short and easily maintained. If I was gonna be a Fulani/bandit/warlord,Kwara state is prime real estate to establish an ISIS/ISWap themed Caliphate.

So you mean if they want to discuss issues of security concern photographers are allowed in the office? Because, I believe the photoshoot should be after the meeting or before and outside the office.

Or meeting about security issue shouldn't be confidential? Abi all na just hogwash for the cam ?

I hope they eventually come up with a solution to curb this terrorism. May God help us!

These people in Kwara State—Ilorin in particular—are not serious at all! What does “moderate Muslims” even mean? These people are still trying to protect the root cause of terrorism. Until we are ready to tell ourselves the truth, this menace will not go away anytime soon. Any religion that instructs its adherents to always “fight in the cause of Allah” is the real problem.

By the way, what exactly is the duty of the Zobi Military Cantonment in Ilorin? Is it there only to protect the Emir and the Emirate? Some ragtag Islamic militias are rampaging through every nook and cranny of Kwara State, yet nothing is being heard from the soldiers in Zobi Barracks. We are not serious in this country at all!
