It is a callous act of lawlessness and absolute disregard for the socalled constitution and federation. An act of secession.Somebody should bring lagos state to book.

Is there any loop hole in nigeria constitution that will allow fashola to get away with it?Or is he going to claim innocent of the act.

Has there been verifiable data of the "deportees"? i.e. where they are from...
but either way... that action is really shameless... and need I say, unconstitutional...

This is the same act as appointing olojas in places they don't belong in nigerian state. It is treasonable, tribal, disability, class profiling and backward.

What is wrong with fashola?Has he turned to area boy?One can see how tribal yorubas are in nigeria with the way some there socalled progressive act on this forum. The omoibo spirit is still very much with them, time or "education" don't seem to change it.

It's bad to know that Nigerians can't live anywhere in their own country without fear of banishment, it's even worse when u realize that the reason these "refugees" are facing these humiliating conditions is because their state govts failed to handle their responsibilities and pilfered away the monies meant for their welfare. Before suing Fashola, the Easterners should sue their home Governors for the situation they found themselves in.

Not only suing the Eastern Governors but all 36 state Governors including the local government chairmen, senators and HOR members who have failed to provide grassroot development. Nigerians have the right to question their leaders whenever the fail to do their duty.

The day i heard some ACN governors say non natives should be ready to go back to their villages if they are not happy with any of their policies is the day i knew that the regional integration has some clandestine motives. Call it hostile takeover or what have you...... Only a national party could rescue the innocent non natives...... They have suceeded in demonizing a national party as PDP.

Finally, we are descending to the point of NO RETURN! The aliens in Yorubaland from the Niger side will make hostiles out of every day "regular" host who are somewhat restricted by the current Federal structure of Nigeria! There will probably be an increase in disdain and contempt for them and a situation of acrimony which they will cry from. But that will still only be one of the milestones until Nigeria gets into a situation of revolution or all out war and there is no question about what will happen to the insulting guests who are hiding under federal Nigeria! Let's wait and see!

The insult you mentioned will be your least worry when this act of ingratitude matures! There will be no place to hide in Lagos or any South West state when the federal cover is blown or suspended! Let's wait and see!

No one knows if they are all igbos not until there is a data to know their state of origin. It is presumed that they are all igbos because they were dumped at Onitsha.

Fashola is a reputation lawyer and he knows what he's did, doing and going to do. read this:

The Abuja Environmental Protection Board
(AEPB) arrested 144 beggars and other
destitute persons in the city centre within the
last three weeks, an official said. The Head of
Information and Outreach Programme, AEPB,
Mr Joe Ukairo, told newsmen in Abuja on
Tuesday that the board made the arrests
during a “massive operation’’. Ukairo said the
board had adopted stricter and sustainable
measures of evacuating beggars from the
streets.
“We discovered that they still come to the
street after evacuation but this time around
we are taking more stringent measures to
make sure they don’t come back. “What these
beggars do is when they see our vehicle
coming they run away but now there are
undercover approaches adopted by the board
to tackle this problem,’’ he said. Ukairo said
that the board would, henceforth, take
pictures and personal data of all beggars
arrested before returning them to their states
of origin. He said the step would enable the
board to know those who returned to the
street. The official said that after returning
the beggars home, AEPB would contact their
various state and local governments to be
part of their rehabilitation. Ukairo said that
without proper rehabilitation, it would be
very difficult to permanently get the beggars
off the streets of Abuja.
He said any beggar who wished to stay back
in the FCT would be taken to the
rehabilitation centre in Bwari Area Council to
learn a trade, such as carpentry, handicraft,
tailoring, soap making, among others.
“We discovered that the street tends to be
more lucrative for the beggars than the
government efforts to rehabilitate them and
provide vocational training,” he said.
Commenting on the reappearance of hawkers
in Wuse Market, Ukairo said the board would
not tolerate their activities in the city centre.
He said that the AEPB noticed that miscreants
hid under the cover of hawkers and traders
to snatch bags and other valuables from
residents at night. Ukairo said the board had
given 72 hours notice to hawkers to evacuate
Wuse Market and environs and stressed that
`there is no amount of sentiment that will
legalise illegality. “Government is ready to
support small scale businesses but it must be
within the provision of the law.‘’ He advised
that the hawkers go to the area councils to
start their businesses. He called on residents
to respect the board’s enforcement squad
and report any form of unethical behaviour
from them. (NAN)
