When you make the payment, make sure to save the ref number it shows on the site. You will need it to resolve the issue with payment...

There's only one interview, and the questions are mostly based on your Proposal (PhD applicants) or based on your statement of purpose (Msc applicants). You can expect some questions about your educational background as well as PTDF mandates. But main questions are on your proposal or SOP.

If he has not yet linked his NIN with the wrong email, he can create another application with his real email. Else, I think he should contact PTDF....my logical thoughts.

No it's not automatically incorporated, you apply for each separately.
If you win PTDF only, then you only get stipend from PTDF and if you win daad only then your stipend comes from daad.
In the case where you win both, the daad stipend will be like a supplementary stipend to your PTDF stipend, starting from the time you secured the daad.

For the split program, you and your UK supervisor will agree on which year of your PhD will be spent in UK, depending on the nature of your research.

Actually it's fixed, one year in UK and 2 years in Nigeria. But whether your UK residency will be in your first, second or third year of your PhD, depends on what you and your supervisor agree on.
