I don't believe it. Even obi has condemned the project. Some people believe that you have to condemn anything done by the government. Some criticized the project because of their hatred to Tinubu. Some just condemned it for nothing sake. Opposition is not only about criticism

These are the Qualities of a Leader!

And that’s what Nigeria needs at this time, a Radical individual that’s Focused and is not easily INTIMIDATED.

Leadership isn’t all about being “Humble” , serving food, carrying people’s luggage or directing Traffic.

So a man has 12 children and 3 wife's, he is already struggling with debts.. His monthly salary and barely feed his family not to talk about intrest on loans he has taken before

But miraculously he gets another loan of 2 billion naira

He then decide to book family vacation
sends his children to the most expensive school
Start building a mansion in the village
Buys super luxury cars

One of his children said that they should have invested this money into a business that can yield profit to pay back the debt first so the family won't be in more difficult problem

The other children call him enemy of progress, show him pictures of the cars n vacation then ask if those are not nice things

Government is not exactly like a business. The primary purpose of a government is public service not profit.

So where do you think a government who revenue is less than debt service +recurrent expenditure would get money to build a road like this?

Loan? How exactly would this loan be rapid?

Printing more money and buying dollars abi? And the results ? Inflation, weaker naira

Is the road really worth it?

The road is totally worth it because it makes it easier for businesses to operate more efficiently. If that happens more businesses will be created and existing ones will grow bigger, and if this happens more people will become employed and earn wages and salary.

This is where government revenue comes in:
Taxes:
Governments primarily make money by imposing taxes on individuals and businesses, including income, corporate, sales (GST/VAT), and property taxes. Other significant revenue streams include fees for services (tolls, passports), fines, profits from government owned corporations, and issuing debt (bonds) to borrow money.
Primary Revenue Sources:
Personal Income Taxes: The largest source of revenue for many federal governments, levied on salaries, wages, and investments.
Corporate Taxes: Taxes levied on the profits of businesses.
Consumption Taxes: Taxes on goods and services, such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).
Payroll Taxes: Contributions for social insurance programs like Employment Insurance or Social Security.
Excise Taxes and Duties: Specific taxes on items like alcohol, tobacco, gasoline, and imported goods.
Other Revenue Generation Methods:
Government Enterprises: Profits from government-owned entities (e.g., postal services, transportation).
Fees and Fines: User fees for services, licenses, tolls, and penalties for infractions.
Natural Resource Revenue: Royalties from oil, gas, and mineral extraction.
Debt Financing: Issuing government bonds and Treasury bills to investors to cover budget deficits.
Central Bank Revenue: Interest earned on government bonds held by the central bank.

And if the business fails again like Ajaokuta Steel, NITEL, NEPA, NNPC and all the other silly businesses he has been doing for 65 years where people keep taking advantage of him nko?

Or would you prefer he copies his fellow broke pretentious neighbour who boasts about how he invested most of the money in a brewery and kept the rest in a bank account to earn the smallest of interest?

Biko, please leave Economics for those who actually went to proper schools and studied to understand it.

The example you gave earlier only exposes the level of thinking that has gotten Nigeria to where it is now i.e. puttings square pegs in round holes and thinking every smalltime businessman/leader is a President or finance minister in the waiting.

1) government have no business in business that's the first rule

2) this loans get zero percent intrest for like first 5 years

3) borrow this money give it to banks at 4% intrest to give to their customers at say 8% intrest in key sectors we have comparative advantage

But the necessary criteria
Make necessary laws that would allow this businesses grow

10 billion dollars directly create 5 million jobs
Earns you 3% yearly
You return it after 5 years and repeat

But again what do I know let's keep enjoy the roads sha... When it time to pay back we devalue our currency again and make people poorer

At least it would affect everyone

That is not the only road being constructed across the country. They are collectively very important to the social and economic development of the country.
You are free to disagree but I know the majority of Nigerians are with the government.

Does Obi know anything ?
Somebody who takes advice from a mad man.
Somebody who was running round the capitals of struggling countries begging their people to teach him governance in one or two days visit
His Mumu is legendary.
