Please do well to give update on this. because I've studied their chart and is constantly on a raise. I'm thinking of investing in it next week. Those who both the Stanbic equity fund should pls update us aspiring new prospect
Yes, I invested last week & I'm already seeing reasonable profit on my capital as compared to mmf. Though I have not experienced the down part, so we should bear that in mind when investing in equity. There may also be negative days.

I have personally not invested in it but I learnt that it's easy to get into but not easy to exit.

I hate it when I provide answers like this because I don't have first hand experience.
I think Its because of the low volume but Looks like people are getting more involved as the volume this year seems to be increasing in numbers not previously recorded.

Meanwhile, here we are.

Thank God for the bounce back.

I will suggest you track their YTD percent for last year and compare with all Equity Mutual funds EquityM has been suggesting.

If it beat them, then you can take a shot at it but if those other Equity mutual funds performance beat it, you are off investing in the Equity mutual fund instead.

Yes, dividend is what makes bonds attractive; you can choose to reinvest or just flex with it.
Green Day on the alpha

CBN MPC Meeting fixed for Feb 23rd and 24th. Highly probable MPR will be scaled back by a few Basis points. If that happens, NAV might hit 2.

Remember the logic, as interest rate falls, bond price rises. The guys doing MMF now will be rushing into fixed income but will be charged a premium and existing bonds already locked in at higher rates will become precious metals.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 11:35pm On Feb 06
Weekend reset: the headline noted it was bearish, but we still saw a tiny green. "Reset" means less aggressive or not so many returns. I topped up around 5 pm yesterday, and the return was tiny. Every Friday usually cools down; I don't know why.

Iamblessed88:
Checked the NAV around 5pm and it was still 1.13. How does the reset work?

Fixed income fund. Yes I factored in the red days, this week, I only had 1 red.

geoeast:
The CS alpha, is it equity or fixed income fund. And the did you factor in the red days when you said you make 900+ and 2000+ daily from it?

Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 11:41pm On Feb 06
I can't wait; fingers crossed.

Spartacus days will always come; just relax and you will get used to it. However, make sure the money you are investing is not needed urgently, do MMF for urgent money or bills. Do equity if you want to buy a car or build a house or you are planning to go abroad.

They will update it; don't worry. If you port from Stanbic, divert some funds into the fixed income, some huge money drama might come up this month. We might smile a lot. May God favor us all.

Ewo, finally I have found my people. Thank you for creating this thread. That MF thread isn't equity friendly at all. Anyway, has anyone tried Zedcrest equity fund? It's doing some crazy returns ytd however I think it's their first year so no existing past performance to look at. Paramount is doing well and their withholding period is just 1 month. My goat.

I found the site on the sec where the weekly performance of all funds are posted. Halo seems to be taking the lead again this year for equity. I'm rambling, sorry I'm happy I found this thread.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 2:26am On Feb 07
Halo might have some shady stuff going on; it's better to stay away from them. A friend who wanted to join them got this message from them. I have attached the proof below. However, I am using Zrosk at the moment, as it is VIP. You should try the fixed income fund of Cardinal, as it sometimes matches the returns of equity. It has been doing well at the moment, and most folks here subscribe heavily to it. Before investing in an equity, kindly check out their previous performance.

You comparing cardinal stone fixed income with which?

I feel it's the other underlying assets that causes the difference.

I was looking at united capital equity investment underlying assets- to be honest I don't think one will see more than a red in a week. Their equity is more like a balanced fund that's why YTD they are 7.58. 60% stocks 40% fixed income
The fund breakdowns/ asset allocations on cowrywise are old and not updated regularly. Check the most recent fact sheet of the fund to find the updated asset allocation as the fund managers carry out some repositioning and update monthly and/or quarterly. Some of them even list their top 3-5 stock holdings. UCap Equity fund last I checked (q4 2025) was 70% equity.

Which fixed income are you investing in cs

Is it cs fixed income alpha fund or ng fixed income notes?

Check for individual ETF YTD for last year.

Let me zero in on this two for emphasis. Stanbicetf30 and Vetindetf. To show those YTD are in fact correct.

See the current prices.

See the prices as at this time last year (arrow).

I'm so sorry to break the news to you after going through these screenshots you posted.

They truly don't have the volume.

Check the volume.

You can go in, make all the whole millions and billions but when you ready to exit the market, if no one buys from you. You will sell at a discounted price or you won't exit the market.

No wonder, ETFs doesn't get talked about and doesn't excite Nigerians.

Very true. ETFs werent as popular as they are now 2 years ago. Comparable volumes attest to this. It has begun drawing attention. Every market had their starting point.

I'll throw in 100k spare coins into different ETFs and see how it goes.... Will report by December.

First time I'm seeing/hearing a fund manager say they've hit maximum fund subscriptions. Didn't know that was a thing. Not going near them at all, thank you for the caution. I currently do paramount and afrinvest and those are doing well so far. Especially Paramount. I did stanbic balanced fund but I want to exit and switch to their equity instead. I don't know whether to switch now during this bull run or wait for the bull run to end before withdrawing and switching. They have a 3 months holding period and it's been just 1 month but returns of 30k have accrued already since January and they'll take 20% of that.

I will check out CS. Their app and swift redemption surprised me since they're one of the older ones.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 10:14am On Feb 07
The market is really good now; it won't be advisable to withdraw your money. I'm also into the Quantum Zenith balanced fund, and they have been doing well, with good returns; however, if the market is really bullish, equity pays more. Moreover, they also have an ESG fund, which is at 13.45% YTD on Friday. I will be sticking with Zrosk equity, Cardinal for fixed income, which is booming for now, and the Zenith balanced and ESG for more insight on how the market works. You should definitely try out CardinalStone; I made 500k last year in December with 8M as my capital.

I've noticed Ethical equity funds like the ESG usually outperform regular equity fund. Last year, Stanbic Imaan fund did 84% and their Ethical did around 70%. Even now, both funds are over 12% ytd, higher than he standard equity fund. And their nav is less than 1k. Stanbic equity nav is about 47k which is crazy to me.

When dividends are paid by companies, do you know if they are also allocated to equity funds and then paid out to unit holders? I'm only aware of the returns from price increase.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 12:22pm On Feb 07
CardinalStone equity does pay dividends to equity unit holders. 0.083 × your current unit. It is usually deposited to your bank account. I don't know why some NAVs are really overpriced. I will keep an eye on the Quantum Zenith ESG. I already subscribed to all their mutual funds; however, their fixed income fund is a rip-off. It's an MMF in disguise, or maybe it's because I did not fund it enough.

It is doing well so far; you can invest with them slowly if you are a newbie. Mind you, it is a long-term investment; kindly read all our previous posts on this thread to understand how equity works.

I invested 200k to stanbic equity on Jan 13. Right now I'm at 206,567k. What's more annoying is i dont even see how the money grows. Like the way CD updates % everyday. Might try the imaan or Ethical out.
