It's strange that since I started keeping my ODU indoors, the speed has improved.

Apparently I went through the system log and something like this.

But I didn't press the factory reset button
Please where's the button located ?
There’s no button on the ODU itself, but there’s a reset button (small hole) at the back of the UPS.

Who still uses iptv in 2026? What kind of contents do you fancy?

Since I renewed my subscription, I no longer face the evening usual poor network situation. Just my observation.

You're talking like IPTV is an outdated technology?
People are actually going to iptv from cable.

You should update your iptv if you're facing issues. VPN makes it better too.

Don't know how a VPN would work on VIDAA OS (Hisense), my iptv is updated.

It works well with other networks, but doesn't with Airtel

Omo, I no sabi that vida OS. If I used a Hisense TV, I would buy an Android TV box for it. In any case, you should search to see if you can find a VPN that runs on that OS.

If Airtel is good in your place and it's just the iptv, then it's a problem a VPN can fix.

It's Airtel of course. But he implied that it works for other uses but the iptv. I have some websites that Airtel struggle to open except I use VPN. Sites like pexels.

The main purpose is for the speed based unlimited plans. 20 and 50mbps respectively..If you're not interested in this plan or maybe going for something lesser then get a smaller router.
Okay

I bought an ODU last 2 Saturday’s ago (31st) and chose Wednesday (4th) as the day of installation, cos my sub on my first ODU was bound to expire Thursday (5th). Installer activated my device 30 minutes after paying for it on that Saturday and started calling me to come for installation. It pissed me off so much and i just couldn’t stand that my sub has been activated cos it was a waste as I already had one at home. To cut the long story short, an Airtel supervisor told me to collect the device from them and report the issue only when I had gotten the device. I received the device Tuesday (3rd), and my sub had been reading since Saturday . I called customer care last Saturday (8th), and asked to speak with a supervisor, complained bitterly and I was told that it would be investigated. I checked my data validity today to see that it has been extended by 1week extra.

Good day everyone, i am a first time buyer of this AIRTEL ODU [ IWANT TO BUY ONE] and i have been reading comments here which is making me confused the more. If i visit any airtel shop in my location [benin city], i request for the ODU buying and installation, do i need to specify the kind of router/ODU device i need or airtel is going to just give me nayone that is available. I don't want to be going back and forth over it. I need something that is just plug and play and future proof. Please someone should explain and simplify all this for me. Thanks

There are 3 variant of the ODU but Airtel will give you anyone that is available in their store out of the 3 , you really don't have the right of choice in the matter

However I think all the ODU are excellent subject to you having a good network in your area

I have the ODU but don't even use it cos I retrieved the sim to physical sim and insert it in the normal Airtel 4G smartbox router and it works perfectly fine and also solve 2 major problem for me battery back up and portability

The battery that comes with the ZLT powers the smartbox for the whole day , I only charge it at night

And secondly , I move the smartbox with me everywhere I go in my bag solving the portability problem of the ODU and I am yet to have any complain.

Thank you for this information, but i want to ask you some questions, firstly, is the ODU is an Esim ? Secondly The router that comes with the ODU UNIT does it have a place where simcard can be inputed ? Thirdly ,do battery pack[ like power bank] comes with the ODU unit all together as one buys it ? And lastly where can the ODU unit Esim be retrived to physical sim ? After successful retriver does it work with the router that comes with it and any other 4G router to continue subscribing the unlimited plan. Apologies for all dis jamb question,

All the ODU comes with Esim but they all also have space for physical sim (all of them .... Huawei, ZTE and ZLT), so you can retrieve the Esim number at any Airtel shop on the street or roadside to get a physical sim , you can put this physical sim in the ODU or any other compatible router of your choice like I did with mine

Secondly the router that came with the ODU is call IDU (it does not use a sim card ) a network cable connect the ODU and feed internet to the IDU throu the network cable

The two device are power hungry device which is while if you are not really on band A or using inverter you will not enjoy it cos the max the battery of any of the ODU can power it is 5hrs ....mine power both for just 3hours 20 mins before I retrieve the sim and use it in the smart box , funny enough that battery power the smart box every day from 6am till 11pm on a daily and I am serious about this

One battery power both ODU and IDU and it comes in the package
The battery that comes with the ZLT can only power routers (no USB space ) thou I have another battery bank that comes with Airtel smartbox (the one you connect to tv) that I previously use to power this particular smartbox (now it's resting )

Depending on your situation people buy another ODU instead of subscribing so they can have 2 batteries to power one ODU long enough

I said the sim will work with compatible router , any router Airtel sim will work on

Because I already have an Airtel router I did not have any issue , if ordinarily Airtel sim will not work in your router , then the ODU sim will also not work in it

Caveat
It must be a router (not mifi) that an Airtel sim will work in
