In a story that will melt even the hardest hearts, fashion influencer Efe Efeturi has announced the arrival of his first child — a handsome baby boy — after almost two decades of marriage and a long, emotional wait.



The news, which the couple kept very private for almost a year, is now out, and the joy is overflowing.



In an emotional post, Efe poured out his heart, writing:



“It’s been a difficult journey for my wife and I. We’ve been married for almost 20 years… I have always wanted a child.”



He continued:



“I don’t think I have smiled so hard! I am eternally grateful to God for allowing me to be a father to this wonderful boy and I am up for what’s ahead and immensely looking forward to it.”



The proud father revealed that their son will be turning six weeks old tomorrow. He admitted that the past year was tough, explaining why he had to cancel plans, go silent, or seem disorganised at times.



“We have been in the trenches to get here,” he said, adding that they are now “on our way out” and ready to enjoy every moment of this new chapter.



Efe gave full credit to his wife, describing her as “the star of this show” who carried the biggest part of the journey. He also thanked everyone who stood by them — from family and friends to the professionals who helped document this special moment.



The post came with a stunning photo of their newborn son, wrapped cosily in blue, looking every bit the little prince they’ve prayed for.

Are you sure you have always wanted a child? If your answer is yes, then you could have easily adopted one. The long wait to have a biological child must have been mentally exhausting. Are you sure it was worth it?

The ultimate wish of most African couples is to consumate their union into a family through the birth of a child.

Wish them well for being selfish? Never... The longest a couple should wait is at least ten years and that'll still also depend on their age.

It's not every couple that is meant to consummate their union through the birth of a child, especially at an age whereby they're supposed to be grandparents... There are many orphaned children roaming the streets and in orphanages yearning for a place to call home with both parents.

Soon enough, they'll leave this world for their son to suffer in the hands of evil relatives and there's nothing congratulatory there... The child will start getting overwhelmed by their complex old age challenges from a very young age and that might take a toll on his mental health.
