President Bola Tinubu and his supporters are advancing Nigeria anchored on demonstrable achievements, while others persist in the dissemination of falsehoods.
The opposition would be better served by consolidating their resources into productive ventures—perhaps even a catfish farming enterprise that delivers tangible value to Nigerians.
In their present state, they fall far short of qualifying as a credible opposition ahead of 2027; seldom has such political inadequacy been so starkly evident in democratic history

The hyper inflated price of rice is not so relevant to this conversation.

What is more relevant is the hike in school fees affecting all students while NELFUND budget can only cater for a small fraction of those impacted.

Is this agbalọwọmeri, robbing the masses to pay Tinubu, condemnable or is it commendable huh

Was anyone paying you free monthly stipend of #20,000 per month for 4 years or any amount when you were at school? That's almost #1m per student free of charge and #1.2m free Government money for students in 5 year degree programs.
Abeg leave matter for Matthias. Tinubu na Baba.

We're in 2026 but see you talking about 2008. What was the quality of education back then? With Technology advancement, and its accompanied innovations brought to education, you still want to access it at #9800? Do you know how much it cost an American citizen to complete university education? - many of them incurre thousands of loan to do that, despite Tax being paid.
You as a person will have lied at home collect 4times that amount and spend it on frivolities.
Since you've graduated and started working, how much have you given back to your alma mater as support? Or are you still struggling?
The mentality of some of you is a contributory factor to the setback of Nigeria. You want Nigeria to turn Newyork, but won't want to be a positive contributory factor to it, always blame game.
Since it appears you're myopic and uninformed. PBAT has given out hundreds of billion to federal University and another for university research.
Early this year, university lecturer received pay rise by 40%, increase in allowance, and monthly top-up for professors.
Don't be a serial complainer, find sometime positive as a kind gesture to do to the society. Your Obi won't be able to knot PBAT in reasoning and achievement in governance.

That's same subsidised 9,800 is the same reason the schools are decrepit. If you had paid what was due, our tertiary institutions would've been better.

Tinubu Did not mess up any country, Nigerian leaders did. If you continue to deceive yourself by using almost all your reserve to fix your exchange rate, there will be a time when you will finish all your reserve and then the true value of your currency will be known by everybody.

Initially, the song was that it is not possible to grant student loans. Then the next chapter was that nobody will be able to meet the criteria for the loan. Now that it is evident that the loan scheme is so far successful then the new song is that school fees are high and it is not every student that is given including those who did not apply for it.

Please when politicians mess up let's say it but where they succeed, let us also acknowledge it. Then we can request for something else.

Even the obedient criticising this innovative policy, their principal took tertiary education beyond the reach of the masses by increasing fees in state institutions without no palliative to alleviate the burden.

Tertiary education in Nigeria had been one of the cheapest in the entire world.....this has culminated in poor outcomes and grossly underfunded youth camps for decades.

If tertiary education were to be appropriately valued commensurate with western standards......your entire generation wouldn't be able to afford it.....you would have ended up with school cert or A levels at best......it's really annoying how under appreciative Nigerians are.

Are you one of the poor outcomes of the cheapest tertiary education in the entire world?

If per chance you didn’t go to any tertiary school, how many people do you know who are the poor outcomes of your cheapest education in the entire world? Will they include Nobel laureate Soyinka, several other global references for excellence in scientific research, medical science, fintech, literature etc huh

Can you please provide the source of your claim that Nigerian 🇳🇬 tertiary education was the cheapest in the entire world. For what years was that the case since 1914?

Is this an achievement? Is this one of the reasons Tinumbu is president? This is the least of the problems facing Nigerians.......power supply, security, infrastructure, proper funding of key sectors like health and education with clear results, serious fight against corruption, etc those are my expectations. He mustn't perform a magic but there must be clear signs of improvement.

When and where did Tinubu promise to hike school fees for ALL students and then give NELFUND loans a tiny fraction of those affected huh

Do you think that your Obidient principal copied Lagos akotileta jẹgudujẹra progreThieves who hiked LASU fees astronomically, while failing to employ well paid professional teachers for the free education of all children, like the UPN progressive governor who established LASU 43 years ago?

pluto04:
fashola-battles-to-justify-lasu-fee-hike

How much is the minimum wage of Lagos state civil servants? He seems to be out of touch and his statements are highly irresponsible!

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/12/fashola-battles-to-justify-lasu-fee-hike/

Governor Babatunde Fashola battled hard weekend, to justify the astronomical hike in tuition fees recently introduced in Lagos State University, LASU, by the state government. Recall that the state government had increased tuition fees paid in the university from N25,000 to N250,000 per session.

Fashola, who spoke at Government College, Ughelli’s, annual luncheon party in Lagos, said Nigerians were unconsciously making the country one where there would be separate schools for the rich and poor.

According to him, critics of the increment are indirectly calling for a Nigerian society which will be divided into poor university for the poor and rich university for rich people.

He said: “Countries that do not prioritise education are always at the mercy of those who place a high premium on education.

“Where in the world have we seen tuition fee of university of N25,000? You cannot find this anywhere. Even the nations that are developed and wealthy do not give education for N25,000.

“LASU started very well and over the years, the population grew and beyond the available facilities and the school began to deteriorate. We are determined to rescue LASU and we will not make it a school for the poor.

“We are unconsciously making Nigeria a society where there will be a school for the rich and one for the poor.
“Several people in this country pay so much for education abroad while the schools here continue to deteriorate. It is only in the university that the children of the rich and children of the poor can sit in the same classroom.”
