As you have asked for it, now this is it

"Recall that during the clause-by-clause consideration of the Electoral bill, the Senate, presided over by Akpabio, adopted a motion moved by Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno, APC, Borno North and seconded by the Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, APC, Kano North, to reject the proposed Section 60(3)."

Are you from Akpabio’s senatorial district or that of Monguno, or that of Jibrin huh

Everyone knows how akpabio and tinibu won their elections so how do you expect them to be comfortable with a transparent electoral system?

No matter how much electricity we have will that mean there will be consistent network in all 774 LG?

I don't know why you guys no dey think!

The insecurity especially in the North will affect the practicality of electronic transmission! Even if it is inserted successfully. It won't work in those States or LG with inadequate network.
Defender of lawlessness and corrupt politicians.

Airtel already partner with Starlink for wider coverage since last year.

Let's even put that aside, the least Starlink package is N318,000 and we have exactly 176,974 polling units across the country.

At N318,000 the cost of Starlink for all polling units across the country is N56.5B which is just around 6% of N1T budgetd for INEC for next year elections.

Meanwhile, not all polling units will need Starlink. The estimate for polling units without access to Internet is around 15%.

The fact that INEC has the capacity to equip every polling units across the country with a Starlink yet INEC doesn't even need up to N56B to do that but people like won't reason that way because you love corruption.

BVAS is rechargeable and to get a powerbank as backup shouldn't hard.

Are you still arguing that INEC should spend N1T on elections without using advanced voting system?

2023 budget was around N600B yet delivered crook election while South Africa spent around N300B with advanced voting system.

When will you guys begin to love the progress of this country that works for all rather than few people.

You thought it's favouring you today yet forgot that power do change hand but it's only a solid system that can keep everyone above every change in government.

We have power banks and will take them to polling stations to help the electoral officers and with our hotspot connection they can upload the results to inec portal.
Exactly! This is how we did it at my polling unit last election. The servers went down and we provided them with our hotspots connect to connect and send out the results.

.. Upload result to the portal live for everyone to see. Is this too difficult for those wicked politicians? WE MUST INSIST ON LIVE TRANSMISSIONS OF RESULTS...or else!
Re: Electoral Act: Akpabio Summons Emergency Sitting, Notable Nigerians, NLC Kick by OgaTheTop2: 1:12am On Feb 10
Ofunaofu:
What Nigerians want is the mandatory electronic transmission of election results from polling units, clearly inserted into the Electoral Act.

This enhances transparency in the process and also serves as a deterrent to rigging, because the weakest link in our entire election results management process is collation. That is where results are manipulated.

After voting at the polling unit, results should be collated, entered on the result sheets, and then uploaded by the presiding officer to the Irev portal or any other portal designated by INEC.

That way, accessibility is guaranteed. By the time results reach the collation centre, everyone has already seen the results.
Simple as ABC! But those wicked thieving politicians don't want progress. Awon ole jatijati..

Shebi it's only nine States, they can use manual collation in those States. But, the remaining States in Naija MUST use electronic transmission! What else?
BTW, don't tell us there is no mobile networks in those states.. Wherever there's mobile network then electronic transmission is viable. Next?

We now have solar powered power banks, Nigeria has enough sunlight to o power it, abi insecurity affect sun too ni.

If there is insecurity in the north, what does that say about APC, is it not a failure on their part

Oga free all these arguments, make electronic transmission mandatory. The so called poor network did not affect the house of rep and Senate elections, na only presidential.....the BVAS has worked in states states , so what's the resistance against it for
They are terrible wicked people... Terrible wicked people that don't want progress for Nigeria and Nigerians.. Terrible people!

It just can't be mandatory yet till electricity and network system is near perfection. All these your arguments are illogical. Elections are local.
What shameful statement! You now agreed the government has failed in providing basic amenities to the people of Nigeria. What a shame. South Africa did it successfully and you dey here dey yarn panti. Omo!

The proponents for the real-time transmission of votes and results right from the polling units are not prepared to listen to alternative viewpoints.

They wish to virtually hold the Senate at gunpoint into adopting the real-time transmission method irrespective of the envisaged and likely problems.

One's hope is that when things go south due to the confusion that are bound to arise in the 2027 general elections, those insisting on having their way should hold themselves accountable and not the Senate or the INEC.

For now, let's await the outcome of the Senate emergency meeting tomorrow, Tuesday.

@hotseat
What are the problems you are talking about?
If it is insecurity, have you agreed that APC have failed woefully and are just liars who are hyper clueless?
