I have a friend in Diaspora who is interested in Opening a Big Supermarket or a Shopping Mall in Abuja. He has been discussing his intentions with me for awhile now.

Initially I wasn't really involved in it and therefore really didn't take it serious. I was just offering my advice here and there, not until now that he seems to be very much ready to start and he wants to entrust everything in my hands.

Me that I don't know anything about supermarkets.... I am not the Manager, no... He wants me as a Consultant to the business. I will join him to hire and fire... He will handle the aspects of finance.... My own is Logistics and his eyes and legs here.

Now to the Crux of the matter, he has given me task to fulfill and I don't seem to know where to start from.


That's why I am here, if you guys can point me in the right direction.

I need experience people to guide me to;

1. How do Big Supermarkets get their supplies/suppliers

- What agreements do they sign?
- what business models do they employ?


2. Management System software

- Which type of Product management System software is currently the best available out there?
- How are products onboarded?
- How is theft curtailed from both staff and customers?

3. How is profit generated from the sales itself?
- What's the best business practice for fast and reliable growth

4. Staff Recruitment
- How are the staff recruited?
- How much salary is paid for which position?
- How can security be arranged for a 24hrs operation?

5. Logistics and Contingencies
- How is the issue of goods movement to and fro the Supermarket location arranged?
- Who handles it?

These are a few things bothering my mind that demands guidance and support.


On his own path,

He said he is currently running a two weeks course on Shopping malls, but I need to be set-up on my task.
