Eni Aluko claims she hasn't had any work with Ian Wright since criticising him after Arsenal legend rejected apology following row over 'blocking' female pundits from broadcasting

Eni Aluko has reignited her war of words with Ian Wright and claimed she hasn't had any pundit jobs with the Arsenal legend after he rejected her apology for suggesting he was blocking female pundits from being given broadcasting opportunities.

Aluko claimed last April that former England international Wright's presence had made it tougher for female pundits trying to find a spot in the industry.

'I've worked with Ian a long time and, you know, I think he's a brilliant broadcaster, but I think he's aware of just how much he's doing in the women's game. I think he should be aware of that,' she told Radio Four's Women's Hour at the time.

'We need to be conscious and we need to make sure that women are not being blocked from having a pathway into broadcasting in the women's game.'

Aluko later publicly apologised to Wright, who responded by saying he could not accept. She later revealed she had attempted to say sorry privately and admitted her comments had been 'a mistake'.

But now, Aluko has taken to Instagram to claim Wright's name is still being 'weaponised' against her by others nine months on from the saga, as she took aim at the former striker for the way he handled the fallout.

For Ian Wright not to accept her apology only shows him to be crude and unforgiving. Ian Wright is only exposing his hatred for Africans, especially Nigerians. If you know you know and if you don’t get it forget about it.

She isn’t a strong pundit, and she isn’t particularly insightful either. That’s not a controversial claim — the evidence is everywhere. Her comedy analysis are easy to find. Punditry isn’t awarded on identity; it’s earned on ability. Michael Owen is also widely criticised as a poor pundit and doesn’t get the top jobs either. Ian Wright is a good pundit. He understands the game, communicates it well, and has done more for the women’s game than she who claims the moral high ground. Young fans don’t look up to token appointments (imagine if Ian was a white man - she'd be spitting feathers) — they look up to strong role models, and who clearly know what they’re talking about. Ian Wright ticks every box. And for the record, I’m not even an Arsenal fan.

Ian Wright should cut his teeth managing a football team like the likes of Gary Neville and Thierry Henry before claiming to be a good pundit. If managing a football team especially at the highest level was easy all pundits would have been managers. Let Ian Wright go and manage the Jamaican National team and then come back as a pundit for real football fans to take him serious instead of dragging punditry in the women’s game.

I keep wondering why blacks are their own worst enemies. If Caribbeans are hating on Nigerians why should you join them?

I feel sorry for her that she has continued this attack, and she is obviously attacking the wrong person. What she ought to realise is there are limited opportunities extended to ethnic minorities in England, which has nothing to do with Ian Wright. If plenty opportunities abound, no one gets in each other's ways.

She is implying that there is a quota, and once they need a black commentator, Ian Wright snaps it up... ah...haha... There shouldn't be a quota for anything in a fair and just society.
