tziz:The battery is very good |
| Re: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by keeper303: 4:43am On Feb 11 |
tziz:I am still observing it but from the little time I have used the battery, it does not last long after recharge. The first time I used it, 2 of my sachet inverters got burnt. When I connected the inverter to the battery, I just heard "pau". Before I could quickly detach the inverter from the battery, I heard the second "pau" and smoke bellowed from the inverter. The second inverter I bought and fixed just did "pau" once and went off completely. I took the inverter back to my 'ina' friend I bought it from and he laughingly told me " e don burn be that" without any pity. As for the holding capacity of the battery, I want to charge it fully and time how many hours it will take to power my 32' telly, decoder, a small table fan and charging of phones before I can conclude. |

ceejay80s:That's your opinion. As for me, I am yet to conclude. I will give feedback later after further test. |

keeper303:There's something wrong somewhere either with Ur connection, inverter or battery, and yes I added battery cos U might have gotten a bad one , I don't know, but U said U are still testing the load, which means the battery is still good , Now, tell us the inverter U used that got burnt , name model, tell us how any ampof battery U bought and the load that was connected to it. |

Pictures of the 2 inverters are attached. The blue one was the one I first used. When it got damaged I bought the second one. |

| Re: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by keeper303: 5:20am On Feb 11 |
ceejay80s:I already told her my experience and she replied that it was the first time she is receiving such complaint. I have been able to salvage the blue inverter and it is still working with the battery. The other test I am yet to carry out is the holding capacity of the battery. I intend to charge the battery fully, put on my small load and see how many hours it will take b4 it goes off. I am very sure I did not make any mistake while connecting the inverter to the battery. You know there are 2 cables coloured red and black and the battery also carries red and black marks so I fixed them correctly. |

keeper303:Sorry on your experience, but a quick tip for DIY persons, when connecting a battery to your inverter, please always use a pre-charge resistor, this helps to fill ur capacitors with energy and avoid large in-rush current. The in-rush current is responsible for the huge spark you get when your inverter cable touches the battery terminal, note that most capacitors in these cheap inverter as sub par and inferior, so be careful how you use them. NB: Lithium batteries generally are capable of high amps charge and discharge unlike regular lead acid. Once again sorry about your spoilt equipment but if you adhere to the above you should be fine going forward as those inverters are low budget versions and thus very sensitive. If you budget allows you, pls change the 1000w modified sine wave inverter and stick only to pure sinewave versions, your equipments will thank you for it. |

saint2ace:Thank you for your soothing words. I think the problem arose from power surge of the battery which caused the damage. Please what is pre-charge resistor and how do I get one? |
| Re: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by dollarnaira(m): 7:34am On Feb 11 |
@keeper303 The above Inverters are cheap msw Inverters. Your experience has nothing to do with the battery. Try get cash and buy regular psw Inverter from Valto or Iinnov. Your experience is an odd one but be rest assured that it has no link to your battery. I know you are pained by the burnt Inverter but try get sth different from the above. Pele |

dollarnaira:I also have the 3000 Watts inverter from linnov which I use in my village. I have bought another sachet inverter to replace the damaged one which I am still using with the battery. I am still observing the holding hours of the battery when fully charged. You never can tell, it may be a factory fault. |
| Re: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by keeper303: 12:49pm On Feb 11 |
ceejay80s:See, i don't need an elaborate configuration and bulky setup. All I use the battery and inverter for is just to watch TV, charge phones and a small table fan for about 5hours between 6-10 pm in the sitting room. When I am about to retire for the night I have another battery and Inverter I use to power my rechargeable fan for the night in my room. |

keeper303:Pls do a proper load test on the battery. |
| Re: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by keeper303: 1:01pm On Feb 11 |
ceejay80s:In response to your 2 last sentences, I bought the battery because of your review. When I bought it, I promised I will also do a review. I have done part of my review by stating that 2 of my inverter got burnt. The second leg of my review will be to test how many hours the battery will last after fully charged while using 32inches TV, a table fan and charging of phones. I won't gain anything by demarketing the company. |
