Sotheby’s sold a 15th century Hebrew prayer book, the Rothschild Vienna Mahzor, for €5.43 million ($6.4 million) on Thursday in what it said was “one of the strongest results ever achieved for an illuminated Hebrew manuscript at auction.” The book, which the auction house called “supremely rare” and a “masterpiece of medieval Jewish book art,” sold to an online bidder.

Settling the Land Israel on Thursday legalized five nascent Jewish communities in Samaria and the Jordan Valley. The five Jewish communities that received recognition are: • Havat Gilad (Gilad Farm) • Mount Ebal • Maoz Tzvi • Tamara • Machane Gadi The Interior Ministry has issued official “settlement symbols” for the towns, turning them into legal villages for all intents and purposes.

Senator Lindsey Graham: I am very pleased that President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel, America’s strongest ally, had a productive meeting about the way forward in the Middle East, particularly the Iranian threat. Rest assured, these two men are strong leaders who seek peace and stability, but in a real way not a fake way. President Trump has proven, in my view, to be the most consequential commander-in-chief since Reagan, and he is moving toward a series of accomplishments that can reset the world for the better. As to Prime Minister Netanyahu, his life experiences and deep understanding of the region have prepared him to be a good counsel and partner to President Trump. Pay for Slay The Palestinian Finance Minister declares: We will continue to provide financial support to the families of Palestinian prisoners and martyrs despite political pressure and the economic crisis Palestinian Finance Minister Astephan addressed yesterday at a press conference in Albireh the issue of reforms required by the Europeans regarding salaries paid to the families of "prisoners and martyrs" and said: "We do not abandon any Palestinian, whether he is a prisoner, or a family member of a martyr or wounded. This is a national issue par excellence. Our commitments to all sectors of the Palestinian population remain valid and we will maintain them despite financial and political pressure." ## The minister also spoke about the severe economic crisis faced by the Palestinian Authority in light of the fact that Israel has stopped transferring clearing funds to the Palestinian Authority - the tax revenues that Israel collects according to the Oslo Accords on behalf of the Palestinian Authority (for example VAT, and income tax for activities related to wages and employment of Palestinian workers in Israel). From his words at the press conference: "Clearing funds constitute 70% of the Palestinian Authority's revenues. No country in the world could continue to exist without 70% of its revenues - therefore, it is natural that the Palestinian Authority is collapsing. The general debt of the Palestinian Authority stands at more than 15 billion dollars due to the delay in clearing funds. In the past year, clearing funds were not transferred to the Palestinian Authority. 475 compensation claims have been filed by Israel against the Palestinian Authority (due to terror activities in the West Bank) amounting to more than 14 billion dollars, as well as additional compensation demands totaling 6.5 billion dollars - Israel is trying to erase the clearing funds it holds for the Palestinian Authority. In 2026, we will not be able to pay salaries of more than 2,000 shekels to Palestinian Authority officials. We are not in a passing economic crisis but in an existential threat." (Abu Ali)
