Mr dangote is this the reason for ur monopoly. Each time importers import fuel you reduce ur price, but when they stop, you increase again, why? Is not helping the economy abeg.

What subsidy are you talking about?
He’s shocked PMS has been selling below 1000 despite subsidy removal, but instead of giving credit to whom credit is due, he would rather discredit those who deserve the credit by lying shamelessly about a phantom subsidy payment

Diesel and kerosene is same price in nigeria and the rest west African countries less than ₦100 difference from the mean price

But Petrol? Lmao ₦500 to ₦800 difference

Dangote want to sale cheap petrol but won't sale cheap diesel.
If he's making his money from diesel and using pms to gain popularity and capture the market, it sounds like a good strategy. That doesn't mean subsidy, does it?

Silly moves like these got us to where we are in the first place. What message do you think the Nigerian Government would be sending to investors if your suggestions are implemented?
Dangote is the first indigenous refinery in Nigeria. I don't see how this makes sense.
I have not seen where government has made such moves on any other local or foreign companies. I would like to be educated if you have them or any.
Talking about investors, are you talking about national companies like BUA, RANO, and few others with known progress in private refinery building in Nigeria or foreigners who have not taken the bold step to build any refinery for over sixty years of independence?
Foreigners will only go where there are either surplus flow of Foreign exchange or where mineral resources that they can trade in abound and is accessible without security risk.
So what most countries are looking for is transfer of knowledge to grow or produce items locally rather than import.

But if any local company decide to deride the government that has given it everything, it should be regulated stiffly.

That's a strategy. He might be losing a little on pms and recovering most of it in diesel and aviation fuel, the idea being to discourage importers. Even if there's a loss, it doesn't prove that govt is subsidising him.

There cant be fixed local price; the price of crude oil keeps adjusting. there may be stability for a short period of time like 2weeks or thereabout if changes in crude oil prices are minimal, but i doubt price can be static. If Nigerias are ready to see price come down like now, they must be ready to see it go up as well
He get crude oil at fixed naira value.
Again, foreign refineries are not getting those benefits as he is getting yet their products is only affected by naira to dollar conversion rate.
There is no private company that gets benefits from government like dangote has received yet we can not overcome this constant stories and competition that only arizes when marketers complain about the price of dangote products in relation to importation.

He is more concerned about the profits of marketers than the price of the product.
He gives discount to those that buys more quantity and limit the number of marketers that can access the product from his refinery by his minimum quantity order rule..
Those who paid for 5 million liters just before his price went from 699 to 799 received only about 4.4 million liters. That is one disadvantage that can only happen in Nigeria. I can't place an order online and they withhold the product because of price adjustment.

There is no reason to defend him for now.

That doesn’t answer the question. I said show me where you ever admonished anyone abusing Tinubu to tone it down, like you did for the guy abusing Obi.
Claiming neutral to deceive people to believe you are being objective in your criticism is the hallmark of deceit and cowardice. Why not come all out and show where you belong instead, nobody will arrest you for that

I laughed when he was fighting dirty with Farouk and some people saw him as their messiah. He lowered price and they singing his praises. Within a month when he discovered that he has overcome every competitive barriers, he increased the price citing one silly excuse. Now, competition came again, he promptly reduced the price. This shows that if given absolute monopoly, the price will soar higher. The best bet is to allow him to compete locally and globally. Let's there be multiple supplier/producers of fuel in nigeria.

The strategy he used in the cement industry should not be allowed in the Petroleum sector because the sector is the key of every household economy. He must be restricted. May the price war never ends.

Dangote is not straight forward.

He brought down his price to 699, marketers stop import and switch to dangote product. After making payments for millions of litters, he revert to 799 per liter.

The catch is you would be supplied the quantity that the current price can buy with the already made payment.

He has proven that he can not be trusted.

It's time for government to place high tariffs on export of Petroleum products by dangote while using it to subsidize import and cutting off completely naira for crude sales by NNPC.

He will have no option than to negotiate fixed local price for the product or drink it if no country is willing to buy from him.

It's about time Nigeria government begin reaping foreign exchange from that refinery or render it useless should dangotes greed persist.

You can ask him, but I doubt it. I mean, like I already said, he's trying to ingratiate himself to the populace and capture the biggest market in Africa. So if he's taking a loss, he'd rather take it here.

Why did Dangote wait for the independent marketers to reduce their prices before he agrees to reduce? That means he had the ability to reduce all along.

Did I just read high tariffs on exports from dangote to subsidize imports? What happened to NNPC, the marketers, and other Nigerians building their own refineries to compete with dangote refinery.
In 2001, people bought GSM SIM for over 20k. Today, it's less than 200 Naira. Some Telco's even give it out free of charge. That's the power of the market.

There are several refineries currently being built by private individuals. They are not getting the type of support dangote got.
NNPC has proven they can not manage our refineries. So that is not an option.
Before dangote refinery, we have been importing fuel. If dangote refinery prove not to be a solution to this importation, we are not supposed to wound ourselves supporting it.
The government has made sacrifices so that dangote can help the economy but he is becoming a challenge rather than solution.
How can he compete with international refinery when his price at local market that has no logistics cost, security cost, custom duties and tariffs be the same as prices if same product were to be imported while bearing those charges.
Definitely not right.

Personally, no offense please, I'm beginning to feel we really don't have anything to be happy about this refinery making us have cheaper fuel, if not why is it that we do get a reduction ONLY when importers are actively importing or trying to import, or when the refinery is having issues with VVIPs in the industry,,, It's just somehow, are the reductions done in good faith or just to sway Nigerians emotions towards the refinery?

Honestly my brother this is what it is. I'm beginning to distrust the guy.. Dangote can actually sell this fuel to Nigerians at 500 per litter. Imagine these marketers are not there, by now Dangote would have increased his fuel to 1000 naira. At one time he told us that fuel may sell at 1000 naira and I was like why is this man like this. Okay tell me what has changed that made him increase his gantry price from 699naira. His intention for selling fuel to Nigerians at a reasonable price is very questionable.

Dangote increased price just last two weeks here but the moment marketers brought in fuel he went and reduced his own. Abeg is this reduction for Nigerians or for competition sake

He has edge already over this importers yet he keeps increasing the moment these marketers go quiet. He brought in over 4000 CNG tankers and told us once these tankers comes we will enjoy cheaper fuel.

It appears you have succumbed to a premature amnesty of memory or perhaps cast prudence to the tempest. Is it possible that your recollection has failed regarding the epoch, a mere four years prior, when the procurement of petrol commanded an exorbitant sum nearing 1,500 Naira?
Have you so hastily granted absolution or slipped into oblivion concerning the nefarious machinations of the petroleum syndicates? Those who cannibalized subsidies and, by unintentional consequence, precipitated the cataclysmic ruin of our macroeconomic stability?
Nay, you have not forgotten. You are an integral component of a systemic apparatus that extols and validates venality, simply because it facilitates your own pecuniary.
I personally believe that once any machination towards subsidy is included (which it already is) it would be grosly abused to the demourage of the poor nigerians who so grossly depend on petroleum products for their daily livelihood.
furthermore, are we not happy benefactors of the increment of the exportation of refined products? is it not what is adding heftily to the aggregate of the national reserves that expedate the downward trend of the dollar to naira exchange rate, strengthening our currency again?
of which camp do you stand with dear sir,
expidiation of the economic stance of the country or personal enrichment of the ruling and affluent class of Nigerians?

This is the wish of all the foreign owned refineries whose aim is to kill local refineries in Nigeria. It will never happen! What will help our balance of trade is killing of every form of importation, and increasing local production of everything, if possible. We need to put an end to every form of importation of petroleum products while supporting more local refineries to come on board. All these people who want to be importing petroleum products should pull funds together and build their own refineries, or forget about the business. We need to protect Dangote refinery and other local refineries because that is the right thing to do for job creation, increased FX inflows, stronger naira etc.
Yes protect dangote refinery and he will in turn protect us like he did just early this year before those marketers resumed import right?
