Good day everyone. Recently I got a call from a female neighbor of mine, telling me I should rush home. And I was like--"what's wrong?". But before I could ask,she had already ended the call. That was how the conversation between me and my two bottles of Heineken at madam-Baddo's bush bar was cut short  I hurriedly boarded an okada and got home. To my greatest surprise,I saw a huge crowd gathered at the front of my compound. That was when I was told it was another neighbor,a guy in his early 30's who wanted to commit suicide  . And since most of the neighbors around were all women,so they thought it'd be nice to call all the male neighbor to come and break into his apartment because he had already locked his door before he wanted to do the act. Well,as the gentleman I'm,I went to his window and saw the young man sitting on the floor of his kitchen, holding a knife and had already cut his hands. On the inside of me,I knew I wasn't the right therapist to talk to someone who's got suicidal thoughts on him out of it,but I just have to at least try my best to . I spoke to him,and gave him some words of encouragement and motivation,and even used myself as an example. After all,he was around and a living witness of how I managed to survived my own predicaments, ranging from failed business transactions and failed relationships sagas. But how I managed to survived all of them still remains a mystery to me,up till this moment.Finally,I was able to convince him,and he came out. While everyone was hailing and singing my praises,I was wondering what coulda brought such thoughts upon a Young Man in the first place? Seriously I didn't care to ask what was the reason behind it,but I know for sure that no matter how and what it may be,it wasn't worth it. Yesterday,he came to me to show appreciation  . At least,for once,I felt relieved knowing I'm the reason someone's still sipping in air . The dude and his fiancee brought a tuber of yam for me and as I'm typing this, I'm equally waiting for my own fiancee to come back from work and do justice to the yam.So,My fellow dear Nairalanders,no matter how and what life might had thrown at you, please feel free to talk to someone about it. Don't feel abandoned. Don't give in. The help you seek may just be a second away from you. And finally, suicide should never be an option. Nlfpmod obembet Dominique mynd44 Seun.
