Valentine's Day is overrated, though. I don't think we should set aside a date to show love. It should be a continuous thing. After Feb 14, that wife-beater wey carry wifey go romantic dinner go still revert to default settings. So, who is deceiving who?

It's the one day on the calendar where sexual immorality is excused. You are allowed to get wild, but the consequences na you go suffer am.

The part that annoys me is seeing some Primary schools and even kindergartens celebrating Valentine's day. Wtf? And don't come at me with all this platonic and agape love nonsense. Valentine's is a celebration of romantic love, why get innocent kids involved in this?

Well, almost every form of celebration is overrated be it Christmas, New Year, Sallah, Maloud, Valentine, etc. depending on how you look at it.

For example you see people who have not been to any religious center find their way to a church on the 31st of December in a bid to "pray " their way into the new year. Some churches will start prayers by 11.45pm on the 31st December and keep telling members to pray and pray for the new year that is just few minutes away. The prayers get serious once it is 5 minutes before 12am on January 1st. Then once they cross over to the new year, most of the members will go out to continue their lives the way they have been spending it before that day; some will even carry olosho that day, some will resume their shayo and igbo normal level, and some will even plot evil against their fellow man starting from the beginning of the year with nothing chnaging.

Some Mosques too now follow the tradition of also reciting prayers into the new year like the Christians do in their churches in the frenzy about the new year.

I'm sure an indifferent person or irreligious person would say there's actually no big deal about the new year like the Christians and Muslims are making it seem.

I also support allowing kids to be kids and putting a stop to primary school students celebrating valentine, but I think valentine is cool in general sha. It is a day u can spend quality time with ur loved ones and reiterate ur love for them in ur deeds and exchanging gifts.

I can see reason with his argument if he says those people committed a crime against the state after obtaining their citizenship and deserved to be removed from the American society for misusing the citizenship privilege. But removing people the way Trump is suggesting just gives a picture of him trying to rid America of immigrants at all cost irrespective how clean they have been and their positive contribution to the American society.

Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) was on strike from November 2025 to February 2026. For the 84 days the strike lasted, the common man who has need to visit any government owned hospital had to turn back and resort to either private hospitals (which are expensive) or herbal homes for healthcare management.

Radiographers, pharmacists, medical laboratory scientists, physiotherapists and other health workers not doctors & nurses literarily down tools crippling activities in government hospitals because of issues bothering on their terms of service and fair compensation; yet our president is spending billions as cost for treatment abroad and his constant gallivanting from one country to another.

Methinks Trump just wants to reduce the population of Americans to as many natural born Americans as possible. But if they will go about it the same way we've been reading about ICE harassing law abiding citizens on mere suspicion of their color and look, then that is totally unfair.

I saw a video of ICE agents harassing a police captain that was off duty . One could see they profiled him because he is black; despite showing them his police badge they were still suggesting it could be forged. I read the guy later sued the state.

I really don’t see how this is more wicked than capturing people on the street and detaining them for days and even weeks or summarily deporting them. In a non-police state.

People's fears is in the last paragraph of the screenshot you posted. The broad catch-all provision that says "Any other cases" is what people fear may be used to deport naturalized citizens who may not have committed any of the serious crimes mentioned in the 5th paragraph.

Most laws have clauses like that for things you do not know. Criminal acts is not exhaustive, There are crimes you cannot think of now and it happens.. Its at the discretion of the department of Justice, Then you will have to prove it in court
