A number I don't know and didn't save as contact tagged a group we are both in for her WhatsApp status.



I viewed the status and replied her DM with a question and we chatted a bit.

But I didn't save up and the chat never continued.


But I notice that ever since then her status shows amongst my contacts as if her number is saved.

Like I'll just see her status with her name and I am confused.

Why is it so, how do I stop it? This wasn't happening before until this new WhatsApp update.

That's not it. Meta has taken our contacts and saved it w/o permission. I know what the OP is talking about. Use a different phone for your WhatsApp and you will see the contacts as if WhatsApp is tducaller.

She has your contact on her phone while you don't have hers. There has always been an option where you can view the statuses of people that have your contact while they can't view yours because you don't have their contact.

WhatsApp is creating a database where you can find someone by typing their names in the search bar now. I thought it was about save. With AI, I am not surprised how they want to connect us all with patterns.

They want to supercharge their data collection and surveillance.

This seems to be true.

Because that period I chatted her I chatted like two other people who tagged their status to groups I belong.

Those other ones are not appearing, only this one

So if I vex delete person number I go still dey see thier status!!!
