Slippy:They come to buy from you what they can't make themselves, about $2.5b worth at that, and now they've removed the barrier, we'd likely sell them more. Mining creates jobs, as does them stealing from you, since you'd need to hire more Nigerians to police them. |

All these na long time ago. We've been liberated long enough. Yet look where we are. There's a time a young man will blame his father for being poor but at a certain age if the young man say the same thing, people will look at him like a fōol. African is a grown up now but still playing in the mud and blaming colonialism still. Just as colonialism took away, they also brought a lot to us, democracy, money, processed goods, education, machinery, banks, roads and so on. Africa should forge ahead but sadly we've not been able to. See China and Japan have almost been burnt to the ground in the past, same as Germany. Even American was once under British rule but today they've been able to forge ahead. They do this without blaming anyone but putting their people first and actually wanting to create a future and hope for their children and those after them. But in Africa, all we are after is the immediate. No clear plans or anything. Please the west or colonialism is not our problem, most of us here today never saw a single Whiteman ruling in Africa. helinues: |

If una stop to dey engage with him post, you go see say him go die slowly. They post to provoke a reaction from you and giving such reaction fuels them to post more to provoke you to fuel them more. If no one answers you when you're talking, you go quiet naturally. As una dey engage am, him dey feel important as though he's influencing people. Stop engaging. Starve them of your attention ![]() Kennitrust: |

helinues:The Chinese did not colonize any African Country because they didn't have the capacity to do so then, but now if giving the opportunity the will do it, that's if they've not started laying the ground work for that. Secondly, Africa can only grow when we put our greed outside and take accountability for our actions, we should stop blaming external factors all the time, the Chinese used to be slaves to the Japanese but that's not the case today. Our greed and inability to think long term as Africans is our greatest problem. |

helinues:Colonize ke! China herself became independent in 1949 nah. Your country's backwardness is what makes nations that should ordinarily be your mate look like your master. |

Africa leader's must be wise This is a bait. China is bent in capturing Africa at all cost. They are very sad right now that America military is on ground in Nigeria. Nothing good comes from China. Don't be f©©l, China is worst than your colonial masters Britain. |

Slippy:If China is running a trade surplus with African countries, the common-sense approach is for African nations, like Nigeria, to boost their exports to China. Think for yourself, African man! It is easy. Why do you think countries like Canada, UK, Germany, France, etc., keep going to China? It's an enormous market. |
| Re: China To Scrap Tariffs For African Nations From May, Says Xi Jinping by onatisi(m): 4:22am On Feb 15 |
china has completely takken over , while trump is slapping and increasing tarrifs , China is either reducing or scrapping theirs. tis will increase trade and imports between china and the african continent, it will reduce the cost of African raw materials that chinese companies buy from africans thereby lowering production cost and selling price . THE CHINESE ARE DOING THIS FOR THEIR COMPANIES, THEY KNOW THAT THERE IS HARDLY ANY FINISHED PRODUCT THAT CAN COMPETE OR EBITER CHINA FROM ARICA |

How can China colonize other African countries when they were themselves colonized by great Japan? helinues: |
| Re: China To Scrap Tariffs For African Nations From May, Says Xi Jinping by helinues: 5:27am On Feb 15 |
BlackRains:The table is actually turning around when it comes to colonization. Hardly you will see any European National teams or Football clubs without seeing blacks, same as their institution. Madam NOI at IMF is an indirect colonization |

helinues:China has more natural resources than all West African countries combined, so your statement that China does not have any major natural resources is false. That country is the largest producer of rare earth minerals and lithium in the world. They also have Crude Oil and Gas, but like the US, they still buy from other countries due to to their large oil consumption. |
| Re: China To Scrap Tariffs For African Nations From May, Says Xi Jinping by Unbiased1: 6:23am On Feb 15 |
helinues:There is nothing like fair here. China could never have colonised African countries because China was much poorer than some African countries during the colonisation era. A country that couldn't defeat Japan that was many times smaller than them could not have colonised Africa even if they wanted to. Russia starting the space race doesn't mean anything. It wouldn't have been a race to start with if Russia was the only country exploring space, so I think you should give the West some credit for competing with Russia in Space Exploration which has led to lists of discoveries and innovation in that field. Remember, despite Russia starting the space race, the US built the world's largest Rocket, the Sputnik V, which landed man on the Moon. Also note that the West did not brain wash Africans to use only Western electronics, that is a very lazy arguement to be honest. The industrial revolution started in the West, the West produced more STEM graduates and conducted more research than any part of the world for about a hundred years. It is natural for them to dominate in most industrial sectors. When the West couldn't keep up with the rising cost of manufacturing in their countries, they outsourced the manufacturing to companies in China, Vietnam and India. What is stopping Russia from doing same? Or did the West also brainwash China not to assist Russia with mass production of Russian products? |

Slippy:Was thinking same thing oo, we export basically raw materials to them, there is no line of manufacture that they are not into, so what's the benefit of this to Nigeria or Africa |
| Re: China To Scrap Tariffs For African Nations From May, Says Xi Jinping by tctrills: 6:35am On Feb 15 |
budaatum:Not necessarily. This only makes it easier and cheaper for Chinese companies to obtain raw materials from Africa. Hope you know that raw materials make up the bulk of African exports to China? This is a brilliant Chinese move but it makes little or no difference for the African countries. |
| Re: China To Scrap Tariffs For African Nations From May, Says Xi Jinping by tctrills: 6:43am On Feb 15 |
helinues:So, Russia or even the USSR always had allies in Africa. The reason why we don't see Russian electronics is because they were not good enough to compete in the free market. Africa imports wheat and oil from Russia. I It was never about brainwashing, it was all about the free market. Even Russians depends on electronics and chips from other countries. |

Putindbutt:Must you comment on every issue? Is it not obvious thatbthis topic is way above your "laptop boys" pay grade!? Have you ever been into imports or exports in Nigeria before? I have been in that business since 2004 and I can tell you right now that I feel like nodding you with all these balderdash you are spewing here.. Free tarrifs! Where ![]() |

tctrills:Those who can build space rocket as far back as 60's shouldn't have issue producing quality electronics products. The exporting was discouraged mostly in Africa countries. We all saw what happened when the Russia Ukraine war started with the sanctioning, it was brutal in the past |

| Re: China To Scrap Tariffs For African Nations From May, Says Xi Jinping by owobokiri(m): 7:07am On Feb 15 |
ogaemma:How is this a "bait" for heavens sake!? They removed tariffs on your exports! That's what they did. Obviously, this means that you can export any sort of goods that are needed in China for free! That is from their own part, once they goods meet all the established import qualities over there. What else do you want them to do for you To keep "dashing" cash to you since you are now well renowned as an almajiri kwantiri!??Good gracious me! How is this a bait really. If you like, you export , if you don't like, do not export. But the facts still remains that no country exists without earnings and earnings are made through exports. China is helping your sorry aszes to exist .. Of course, there must be some economic and diplomatic gains for China in the long run. That's fair because no country is a father Christmas. But to say that this policy is a "trap"? Oga, Please explain! I think that the CNN and the BBC have utterly brainwashed my people that they now parrot the belief that the surest route to heavens goes through London, Paris and Washington! To think that characters associated with the ruling party are the one championing thus warped narrative is bewildering, because in the final analyses, you borrow endlessly from the same China without worrying of being "trapped"! Very pathetic if you ask me.. |
