Tinubu Govt Targeting Opposition, Shielding APC Members – ADC Chieftain, Kalgo by SlavaUkraini(op): 2:44am On Feb 15
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Idris Kalgo has accused President Bola Tinubu-led government of targeting opposition members for investigations, while shielding ruling APC politicians.

Speaking on Trust TV, Kalgo questioned why there is a selective enforcement of investigations forced against opposition members in Nigeria.

“Why is it only ADC members who are being pursued ? ”he asked.

He further criticized what he described as a double standard, pointing out that members of the ruling APC appear immune from scrutiny, while ADC members face arrests and investigations.

He said, “As long as you are a member of the APC, you are safe. You are not corrupt. But the moment you leave, you are suddenly labeled corrupt and targeted.”

He cited examples of politicians who switched parties without repercussions, including Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, former running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections, who joined the APC but continues to face no active legal consequences.

“Where is he now?” Kalgo asked.

Kalgo also referenced former APC governors, including Yahaya Bello, questioning why no immediate actions have been taken against them despite various allegations.

“We have seen attempts at arrests, even at airports, but ultimately they remain free. Why is democracy applied selectively?” he said.

“People are tired of poor governance. Nigerians want their voices heard, and leaders should allow democracy to flow,” Kalgo said.

According to Kalgo, the crackdown on ADC members is a strategic move to slow down opposition momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

“These people are capable of challenging power. That’s why they are afraid,” he asserted.

This is so true.
They target & persecute people of the opposition and once they bow to pressure & join their yeye agbado party, their sins are automatically forgiven.

In 2027, their eyes go clear.

The corrupt government is fantastically corrupt.
what do you expect from them?
Re: Tinubu Govt Targeting Opposition, Shielding APC Members – ADC Chieftain, Kalgo by Klington:
Tinubu is afraid of his own shadow.

You claim Nigerians love you so much because of your "good works".

You claim you won the election with a landslide.

You claim you have almost all the governors, senators, HOA members on your side.

Yet, you're still shivering like a faulty tiger generator each time free and a fair election is demanded from your govt. tongue

Tinubu is the most hypocritical person that ever liveth.
Everything he does is the exact thing he fought against.
I am not surprised he is targeting opponents while shielding people of his ilk.

chisomkachy:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.

The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”

Re: Tinubu Govt Targeting Opposition, Shielding APC Members – ADC Chieftain, Kalgo by MarketDispatch: 7:31am On Feb 15
No independent observers are currently talking about how to monitor INEC BVAS system so I ask chatgpt got for recommendations: below are suggestions

1. Pre-Election Transparency Requirements (Before Election Day)
Independent observers should formally request:
A. BVAS Infrastructure Disclosure (Without Compromising Security)
INEC should disclose to accredited observers:
Number of primary and backup BVAS servers
Whether hosting is on-premise or cloud-based
Identity of hosting provider (if outsourced)
Data redundancy architecture (failover locations)
Cybersecurity audit certification (independent audit report summary)
Note: Exact server IP addresses or security-sensitive details should not be public, but observers can verify them confidentially.
B. BVAS Website & Backend Governance Transparency
Observers should request:
List of authorized system administrators (roles, not personal data)
Change-log records (who made updates, timestamped)
Deployment audit trail for election-day updates
Version history of BVAS and IReV software
Critical safeguard:
All backend changes should be frozen 72 hours before election.
Any emergency change must be logged and observer-notified.
C. Public Zero-State Verification Protocol
If the BVAS collation portal shows "zero results" before uploads:
Observers should:
Capture timestamped screenshots.
Compare backend logs to confirm no hidden uploads exist.
Demand hash-based verification of uploaded files.
A public cryptographic hash verification system would increase trust.
2. Election Day Monitoring Framework
A. BVAS Server Room Monitoring
Independent observers should:
Deploy IT audit teams physically present at:
National Data Center
Backup Data Center
Monitor:
Access control logs
Power redundancy systems
Network traffic spikes
Any manual database interventions
Critical:
Access to server room should require dual authorization.
All physical access should be logged and observer-witnessed.
B. BVAS Upload Point Monitoring
At upload locations:
Observers should:
Record upload time per polling unit
Verify polling unit code matches BVAS device ID
Confirm file hash consistency before and after upload
Document network failure incidents
Upload anomaly tracking matrix:
Polling Unit
Upload Time
Network Provider
Delay
Observer Notes
C. Monitoring Network Providers
Since BVAS depends on telecom infrastructure:
Observers should:
Document which telecom provider services each LGA
Track network downtime periods
Compare downtime reports with telecom provider logs
Identify geographic patterns of connectivity failure
If network failure disproportionately affects specific regions, it must be documented for post-election review.
D. Polling Booth Monitoring
Observers should verify:
BVAS accreditation success rate
Manual override frequency
Biometric failure rates
Incident report forms
Any manual accreditation override should:
Be logged
Be signed by party agents
Be photographed and documented
E. Collation Center Monitoring
At Ward, LGA, and State collation centers:
Observers should:
Compare Form EC8A (polling unit result) with BVAS upload
Confirm image uploads match physical result sheets
Record collation start and end time
Document any result alteration objections
Observers should also:
Record when results arrive before BVAS upload (red flag scenario).
3. Real-Time Transparency Recommendations
INEC should implement:
A. Live Audit Dashboard
Public-facing dashboard showing:
Total polling units
Total units uploaded
Upload progress percentage
Timestamp of last update
B. Independent Parallel Tech Audit
Organizations
Could conduct independent:
Cybersecurity penetration testing
Post-election forensic IT audit
Upload integrity verification
4. Post-Election Forensic Audit Framework
Observers should demand:
Complete BVAS device log extraction
Full upload audit trail
Database change history
Network latency logs
Server downtime report
An independent forensic IT team should verify:
No post-upload file manipulation
No result replacement
No backdated entries
5. Risk-Based Monitoring Model
High-risk areas (based on historical disputes) should receive:
Extra observers
Live upload tracking
Redundancy documentation
Immediate incident reporting hotline
6. Structural Recommendations to INEC
Publish a simplified BVAS technical whitepaper.
Engage third-party cybersecurity firms pre-election.
Establish independent tech oversight committee.
Provide observer access to server audit logs (under NDA).
Implement blockchain-style result immutability (hash verification).

Summary: What Observers Should Actively Monitor
✔ Server rooms
✔ Upload points
✔ Network providers
✔ Polling booths
✔ Collation centers
✔ Backend admin access
✔ Website zero-state verification
✔ Change logs
✔ Downtime logs

Is it any surprise that APC corruption has become worse than when PDP was in office, just like every other governance indicator huh

More debt and less economic growth is the legacy of A-looter Propaganda Conmen, APC over the past 11 years.

socialmediaman:
The 2018 Rating by Transparency International placed Nigeria at 148th position out of 180 countries. Nigeria was improving over the years under the previous government, until Buhari got elected as president, things became worse.

There is a difference between fact and fiction. We need to face facts, Buhari is worse than GEJ when it comes to fighting corruption, at least that’s what the facts prove.

Most of us believed there was corruption under Goodluck Jonathan’s Government. I agree with those who did, there was corruption, but not as bad as it is today under Mohammadu Buhari.

In 2012, Nigeria was placed at 139th position, In 2014, Nigeria gained 3 steps and was placed at 136th position. Under Buhari, Nigeria has lost many positions down to 148th.

There’s no further proof needed that corruption has worsened under Buhari’s government compared to previous years.

Is that really true? Can we have those being prosecuted that aren't members of APC and those that (APC ) are supposed to be persecuted and not in court?

Re: Tinubu Govt Targeting Opposition, Shielding APC Members – ADC Chieftain, Kalgo by hotseat: 8:22am On Feb 15
Let's concede that the opposition members are selectively being targeted.

But, the more important question should be: are the allegations against them true or false?

PO is also a prominent member of the opposition but, until now, no clear-cut evidence or indisputable fact, evidence or offense has been established against him.

Those who are being "targeted" should examine themselves if they have a case to answer or just being prosecuted/persecuted unjustly.

It's not enough to cry wolf where there is none because he who comes to equity must come with clean hands.

Belonging to the opposition and seeking to remove an incumbent for alleged "faults" suggests that they (members of the opposition) must be faultless themselves.

Pointing to those within the ranks of the ruling party who are alleged to be guilty of one offense or the other won't exonerate them of their own malfeasance.

T.A. Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu, former governors of Abia state. Ifeanyi Okowa, Nyesome Wike, Obasa, Ngige, Rochas, Akpabio, Uduaga, Omo Agege and many are no longer being prosecuted because they are in good terms with the APC government.
Udom Emmanuel, El-Rufai, Malami, Tambuawa and others that I don't know their names are being prosecuted because they are not in the opposition. Meanwhile, if the system or EFCC were a competent anti corruption agency in Nigeria, every past governor supposed to be investigated and tried after leaving office due to their corruption tendencies allegedly.

I'm surprised you mentioned Tambuwal who's persecuting him? And with Mallm El-Rufai recent outburst, don't you think he needs to be persecited?

I remember how El rufai blocked everything pdp when he was a governor.

I remember how obi blocked anything opposition in Anambra when he was a governor even to the extent blocked the opposition from usin Ansmbra stadium. I still remember many of obi sins then but he is talking saint today because he believes many Nigerians are suffering from past memory lost and he capitalised on that but for we sane Nigerians we still remembers it all.

I remember how atiku co-joined to dealt with Gej. So when I see all these noise from all these evil losers and their useless party I just laughed because they are receiving what they sowed back to back...
