When I and many others notably, Mr usmanpogo said that the recognitions by some European countries weren't sufficient enough to grant statehood to the fictional Palestine state. One clown the lord of the rings was busy scribbling nonsense!!

Any recognition done outside the US without the full backing of all members of the UN security Council was just a mere nonsensical exercise in futility!!

Funny how the propaganda of a Palestinian state has quietly fizzled out of the thread!!
The topic fizzled out as though it never existed in the first place.

⚡Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces:

"A battle with Iran will be a lesson for Trump, Trump must learn that he will enter an educational battle, the result of which will be that he will no longer dare to make threats in the world."
Take a closer look at Iran's highly placed personnel and their comments since the 12D and the US buildup in the region. They're just not one of defiance, but a subtle show of'rare' confidence that rest on a game-changing fulcrum: nukes or something equally big.

A former CIA director once said that the Saudis helped finance Pakistan's nuclear program, which logically denotes that, Saudi Arabia already have nuclear capabilities, and the US is aware of this fact. The Iranians are also aware of this.

Now, bring your reasoning to logical deductions .

Iran already has nukes---it would make no sense if they hadn't since the Saudis now has that capability. And that is the source of their confidence.

I will never forget the words of Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, re-elected to the Iranian parliament in March last year, saying that Iran's decision to risk attacking Israel in April stemmed from its possession of nuclear weapons. The fact that they have not publicly declared it doesn't rule out that possibility.

A showdown with the US in the region will offer the perfect alibi to hit harder, then simulate a tactical nuke strike, which would immediately send the US and Israel running back home and calling for an immediate ceasefire on all fronts.

Time will tell.

I have asserted this and will do it again:
There's a difference between predictions/analysis and declarations.
What some people are doing on this thread aren't predictions nor analysis. They're declaring. No, making decrees!

As in, how would someone come online and declare war between two or more nations continuously for months, with his full chest? And he claims to be sane? How?

Neither Israel, Iran nor US have declared war or even shot a bullet at anyone. In fact, the Middle East is now very quiet, loudly quiet for months now, compared to its normal state. Bombs are not dropping off in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon nor Yemen in large doses compared to previous times. Perhaps, the tension between the US and Iran is a blessing in disguise. Even the protests in Iran have cooled.

Tons of talks, deliberations and diplomacy are going on non stop, as I type this, concerning Iran, 247. Nobody wants war, no party. Trump is trying to avoid American body bags. Iran is desperately trying to get out of the sanctions cage. Trust me, sanctions are hell. They are almost as terrible as being at war, because the effects are terrifying. Gulf countries know they'll be the grass that suffers when the elephants fight, so they're doing everything humanly possible to avoid war. Even Israel don't want war. The 12 day exchange will be a walk in the park, compared to what will come. That's why they're desperately pushing America to do the work.

Still and still, someone would come on Nairaland and type with confidence when the US Iran war would kick start, including the outcome. Some are behaving like Generals in the Armies of the concerned countries and are already giving out orders. It's now a routine. They do this mostly close to weekends.

If the people behind some of the monikers on this thread were the world decision makers, we all would have been fighting the 7th World War by now. SMH....

if you are in greater tehran, gush dan, or anywhere in the levant near a us military installation
get out
mk kata kata no start, you go dey find who to evacuate you

you think the missile tests and the dozen ships at or heading to iran are going there for sightseeing
the buildup of us military assets in the region now matches that preceding the gulf war

na only satanyahu need war to survive
most reasonable parties try to exhaust all possibilities to avoid bloodshed
even russia tried severally with minsk i and ii and even preceding the 2022 war to send proposals and warnings

but when you are dealing with 🤡🤡 who overestimate their capabilities
at a certain point, you have to duel
that's a fact of life

war was set to commence on january 14 and two weekends back
iran was ready
the us pulled back

eventually, one of those false starts will be a real start and anyone caught napping will be shredded

the us cannot be asking iran to give up nuclear enrichment, give up missiles, give up its proxies, not launch satellites, stop selling oil to china
and claim they don't want war
when they are done using negotiation as cover to build up forces
they should start the war

their own don too much
i said late last year that iran's odds are 50:50
now i'm like, f*ck the odds, war it is

how can a pdf wake up one morning and say persia cannot launch satellites
what are they smoking?
persia should give up its missiles
for what?
after imposing sanctions on them, you're telling them not to sell to their biggest buyer that ignored the sanctions

whether they want war or not
they must bleed
they've gone too far

🔥 Breaking News : “Russia’s War Is Getting Cheaper” A Dangerous Shift Europe Can’t Ignore 🇷🇺⚡🇺🇦🇪🇺

Russia’s war effort in Ukraine is becoming significantly more cost-effective for Moscow — a development that analysts warn could prolong the conflict and increase long-term risks for Europe. According to a recent analysis published by Euromaidan Press, the Kremlin has adapted its military-industrial and economic model to sustain the war at lower relative costs than in its initial phases.

The report highlights that after the shock of early Western sanctions in 2022–2023, Russia restructured its economy into a war-focused model. Military production has surged, with factories operating around the clock and state spending heavily redirected toward defense manufacturing. Instead of collapsing under sanctions pressure, Russia has increased domestic arms production, reduced reliance on certain foreign components, and secured alternative supply routes for critical technologies.

A key factor behind the “cheaper war” dynamic is the expanded use of relatively low-cost weapons systems, particularly drones and glide bombs. Rather than relying solely on expensive precision-guided missiles, Russia has increasingly deployed mass-produced drones including Iranian-designed Shahed variants and converted Soviet-era bombs into guided munitions. This shift allows Moscow to maintain high strike volumes while conserving more sophisticated and costly missile stockpiles.

Additionally, the report notes that Russia’s defense spending, although massive, is now more deeply embedded into the national economy. Military-industrial output has become a major driver of economic activity, cushioning the impact of sanctions and helping stabilize employment in key regions. High energy revenues earlier in the conflict and continued oil exports often rerouted to Asia have also provided financial breathing room.

For Europe, this trend carries serious implications. If Russia can wage war at a lower financial and material cost, it may be able to sustain operations for a longer period than many policymakers initially expected. A prolonged war would continue to strain European security, defense budgets, and political unity. The analysis warns that Western assumptions about Russia “running out of resources” may need reevaluation.

At the same time, the long-term sustainability of Russia’s war economy remains uncertain. Heavy defense spending could crowd out civilian investment, create structural imbalances, and increase inflationary pressures over time. However, in the near term, Moscow appears to have adapted sufficiently to avoid immediate economic exhaustion.

The analysis, published by Euromaidan Press, concludes that the most concerning development for Europe is not Russia’s battlefield tactics alone, but its growing efficiency in financing and sustaining the conflict. A cheaper war for Moscow could mean a longer and more strategically challenging confrontation for Ukraine and its Western partners.

🔥 Breaking News : Russia Destroys Ukraine’s Cruise Missile Production Line — Kyiv Confirms Strike, Production Relocated 🇷🇺⚡🇺🇦

A Russian missile strike has destroyed a key Ukrainian production line responsible for manufacturing the domestically developed FP-5 “Flamingo” long-range cruise missile. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack, stating that while the facility suffered significant damage, production has already been relocated and restarted at an undisclosed location.

According to reporting by Defence-Blog, Zelenskyy disclosed the strike during remarks at the Munich Security Conference. He acknowledged that Russia successfully targeted one of the main industrial lines linked to Ukraine’s expanding domestic missile program. The destruction represents a temporary setback for Kyiv’s efforts to scale up indigenous long-range strike capabilities amid ongoing hostilities.

The missile in question, the FP-5 “Flamingo,” is a Ukrainian-developed long-range cruise missile designed to enhance the country’s independent strike potential. The system has been associated with Ukraine’s broader push to reduce reliance on foreign-supplied long-range weapons. Developed by the Ukrainian firm Fire Point, the Flamingo has been described as one of the most ambitious projects in Ukraine’s domestic missile portfolio.

While Ukrainian officials have cited an intended range of up to 3,000 kilometers for the missile, confirmed operational data remains limited. Earlier reported launches did not consistently demonstrate the level of effectiveness initially projected, and the program has continued to undergo refinement and expansion.
Zelenskyy emphasized that despite the strike, Ukraine remains committed to strengthening its domestic defense industry. The relocation and rapid restoration of the production line underscore Kyiv’s priority of maintaining long-range strike capability even under sustained Russian missile pressure.

The development highlights the ongoing industrial dimension of the conflict, where both sides continue targeting defense manufacturing infrastructure in an effort to degrade each other’s long-term military capacity.

We are ready to discuss this and other issues related to our program provided that they are ready also to talk about the sanctions because sanctions, as we call it, illegal sanctions, those sanctions have to be also on the table.

One cannot accept the notion that Iran has to do certain things without the other side committing itself to do their share.

So it has to be a give and take. That is what compromise is all about.

⚡German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius on possible German nuclear bombs:

We uphold the rules-based international order. We have signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and committed ourselves never to acquire nuclear weapons.

And now we are saying, “Well, let’s see, maybe we somehow join the game after all.”

Yes, there are pathways, and that is what Macron and Merz are discussing. But this would have to be handled very carefully, strictly within international law.

Otherwise, thirty other states might say: “If the Germans leave the treaty, then so will we.” The consequences would be enormous.

That is why I would prefer that we focus on more realistic issues — we were just discussing FCAS and other concrete defense projects — rather than jumping immediately to the nuclear question.

Deterrence is not about simply comparing numbers. The Americans have many nuclear weapons as well — yet even one can be enough for deterrence.

But negotiations were ongoing the last time when Israel and U.S struck so if people are saying here that there would be war they must have drawn inference from antecedents. I did political analysis in my Uni days and what people are doing here is what we call Predictive Analysis , one of the yardstick for measuring polical events, so it is still part of political analysis. It doesn't matter if what you predicted didn't happen. If you know Professor Trita Parsi an Iranian American who has written a lot about contemporary politics, he said last year and he was certain that Israel would strike Iran again before December but that didn't happen does that make him dumb or clownish? No, in fact seeing that Israel did not strike Iran before that December another inference can be drawn and used for analysis next time.
