Check your exhaust valves holes, near the shock absorber, check for ou leaks from the cam seals near timing belt and lastly check your vacumm hose, disconect it,temove it andlook insideifud see puddles of oilinside.
Crownofwealth:
Where I usually park the car there is usually no oil drops on the ground. When I said the oil drys up I don't mean that there is no oil at oil. There is oil just that it goes below the last hole on the dip stick. Usually top it with the remaining one litre left when I did servicing.
Re: The HONDA Club by rapheal5(m): 2:43pm On Feb 14
It's inner rear view mirror, not side mirror.

Cryomancer:
Hmmm... Why not clip it back in instead. I once used a gum to fix same issue and when the morrow finally broke, it refused to come out for me replace just the mirror. I had to buy the full side mirror unit again.

If you want to use gum, please ensure it's a light gum that won't be hard to take off in case you want to change only the mirror. Don't make the mistake I made.

Oh... Sorry I missed that part.

Honestly, your best bet is to use sealant. That's the same seal that is being used for windshield installation. I don't know if somebody can recommend something else. Sealant was what I used in mine and it never came off again

Please recommend the type of sealant you used

Good afternoon my seniors.. I want to do some upgrades/makeovers on my 04 accord.

Can I get bumper with space for fog light? Apart from the usual bumper?..

I checked YouTube, I love most of the Mods I see there, will I get them in Ladipo or our markets here, I’m just seeing EBay, Amazon etc.

And has upgraded an EOD? Or who has an idea on what new thing I could add to give it a face lift.

Thanks

Yes you can upgrade the EOD and everything you need will be gotten easily. I once used EOD and I did some nice upgrades too.

For the bumper with fog lights, you'll need to get 06/07 bumpers along with the front grills to install the factor fitted fog lights like I did on mine which actually looked better. But if cost is a problem, you can go for the aftermarket type of projector glass fog lights which has black rubbers inclusive with it, and use on your current bumper.

As for the general upgrade you seek, EOD already looks sporty on its own so luckily for you, no much upgrades needed asides from getting the JDM rear spoiler, bumper extensions kits. But these stuffs can be sourced from AliExpress or eBay alone, you'll be extremely lucky to find it in the naija market. For the spoiler just get the normal ducktail type which you find around and paint it black just like I did.

For engine, no much tune ups needed. You can install a valvtronic exhaust if you like your car loud.

You have a very nice car, you'll enjoy it if you take good care of it.

This is a picture of mine before I crashed it in an accident.

I actually can't remember the name of the exact product I got. But I just entered the market and requested for the popular windshield sealant and it was sold to me for 4k.

Good afternoon everyone, my Honda city 05/06 is bad, the gear master I called said they can’t repair it. I’m angry coz my brother made me buy this car cox of the fuel efficiency and low maintenance. It’s been parked for 3 months now and the market value for this car gearbox is unreasonably expensive. What can I do?

What is the code seen on scanning the transmission? Maybe get a second opinion from another gearbox specialist who is good.
Re: The HONDA Club by Flyestgurl: 10:03am On Feb 19
I didn’t do the scan, my friend drove the car to get fuel and it refused to move at the filling station, had to tow it back home. Prior to that it jerks when driving, especially when climbing any hilly place. Called a mech and they kept saying it’s the fuel pump, changed about 4 pumps till it stopped moving. Called a mechanic and a gear master and they all said it’s the gear, they uninstalled the gear and it’s just parked at home. Should I reinstall it and scan for a code ?

Sometimes this thing is as simple as a shift solenoid, or the wiring or shift solenoid circuit to the ECU.

Was this checked ?

Scanning would have revealed all these issues, or at least made diagnosis easier.

[quote author=Donald3d post=138518345]No it wasn’t checked, they are all bent on buying another gear. I will tell reinstall the gear and revert here. Thank you.

Firstly your car uses a CVT gear which is very delicate and a wrong oil usage will send it to a scrap yard within a week.

1. When you took delivery of the car, did you change the gear oil??... If you did, what type of gear oil did you use?

2. You should have called a gear specialist that has a scanner, so as to ascertain what exactly is the problem.

3. Since the gearbox has been taken out already and the gear specialist already told you to go for a replacement, I'll advise you just replace the gear because trying to fix a CVT gear is just a waste of time and money in my own opinion.

4. Just cut your losses, get another gear and use the right gear oil for it and enjoy your car afterwards.

So sorry about your experience.

Good afternoon my Oga's.

simple fixes:
1. First of all; is your fan connected direct and/or your thermostat removed? check and return back to default.
2. your transmission range switch may be faulty or clogged with dirt. Check to see if the wiring to the switch is broken also.

my 2 cents.

In addition to what the first person who quoted you said, you also need to check your 02 sensor (the one underneath the car)

The fans run at ignition. The old owner allowed the connection. The thermostat was not removed. It still gets to optimal temperature but it takes awhile. It has single cell radiator so maybe due to overheating, it was connected direct.

Does single cell correlate to overheating?
Naija electricians and connecting fan direct na 5 & 6.

How do know the thermostat is intact? If it is why does it take time to reach optimum temperature?

Well I just gave you advice. It's either you take or leave it.

But until you revert to default, your problem will persist.

Call a technician to check the thermostat and learnt it was removed. The technician opinion is that it fails hence why they remove it. I told him to source a replacement.

You didn't state the type of transmission you're using. Is it manual or automatic?

Your recommended oil type is honda DW-1.
If you can get genuine one from a trusted vendor then it's fine.
Due to adulterated and counterfeit oil in the market; when I do my servicing I used an Mannol SP-IV. It's an unpopular brand but I am rest assured it's genuine rather than looking for the top brands that are mostly adulterated.

I have been using Mannol both for my engine oil change and the last time I did transmission oil change.

[quote author=Cryomancer post=138523856]I guess this will be my last resort, however I had them reinstall the gearbox and get it scanned so I can at-least know if it’s redeemable. Just trying to check all boxes with a glass half full idea.
If anyone has a gear master that has a scanner, the one I know doesn’t have. And what the correct oil for the Honda city transmission fluid,
Thank you all for your input.
Good morning.

You can buy a cheap one for like 4k, it connects to your phone via bluetooth and scan it yourself.

I didn’t get this on time. Someone called a gear master and he scanned it already.

Lucky you. The two codes aren't pointing to anything too major.

35-01 Relates to your output shaft speed sensor.
21-01 This is related to your sequential mode. I guess this is why you're having issues with the gear shifting and moving the vehicle.

The gear specialist should advise you further on the best way forward.

However, what was the gearmaster's response after the scan?

Thank you God.
The specialist sent his boy and the boy said his boss not around now, and he’s still learning, that I should towed the car to his workshop for proper evaluation. So I won’t be using him. I’m going to where it’s parked today and will try to get a gear specialist that will take it on. If anyone has a good gear master on here, I wouldn’t mind. Thank you sir, I appreciate the help. I will update how it’s going from her on out. Blessings.
