I also know someone is a senior partner at a venture Capital who holds the CFA charter. He gets paid in dollars and when I tried converting his annual package to Naira, I just open mouth. He is in his early 50's .

Even some senior engineers in companies that do oil exploration earn quite well and can afford to buy brand new benz of their choice, but like I said most won't buy .

There's a reason why I said it depends on the company the person works for, your years of experience and qualifications.

My very close friend called me one day last year and was just sounding like ambulance wow wow wow. . He gusted me about a staff in their company who was on a junior role that got an offer from Sahara Energy . The guy was earning N4m per annum in the junior role at their company but the offer he got from Sahara was for N43m per annum. Like the guy just went from 0 to 1000 !

My friend just was just so shocked that there are companies that pay like that .

I’m sure that particular guy can afford to buy any decent brand New Kia or Hyundai if he wants to within a year of resuming that job considering that he will still get paid some bonuses that has nothing to do with his annual salary of N43m o.

One of my guys in uni was studying a finance course. Finished at about 23. Big 4 senior manager by 30. Group CFO of a major company by about 36. By the time he was 45 he had been CFO in 3 top companies before he hung his boots and started working for himself doing some consulting work.

If you are not in the right environment you won’t know what is going on.

Yeah I agree, buying new cars for this our yeye roads seem like a sheer waste of resources. A first grade Tokunbo will do the same job of a brand new car at a reduced cost. More like buying brand new is a flex
