https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEtmCX5BmeE Protesters returned to the National Assembly on Monday, demanding that real-time electronic transmission of election results be made mandatory in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, 2026. Demonstrators, including civil society groups like Situation Room and Action Aid, insisted that manual collation be completely eliminated to prevent manipulation during the collation of results. The protest comes after a five-day break from the National Assembly, following assurances from the last Tuesday sitting. Security operatives reportedly barricaded the entrances to the complex, forcing the crowd to hold their demonstration outside the gates.

They claim to be on ground. They claim he is a city boy. They claim to have 30 governors. They claim he is the best president in the world after Nelson Mandela. Then why are they scared of transmitting election results real time? |

This protest underscores the growing demand for transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s electoral process. The insistence on real-time electronic transmission of election results is a crucial step toward minimizing the risks of manipulation and ensuring that the voice of every voter is accurately reflected. Ultimately, the message is clear: Nigerians are demanding credible, transparent, and tamper-proof elections, and lawmakers must take these calls seriously. The future of democracy hinges not just on laws but on their faithful implementation. |

Odin13:Your masters have completely lost any hope of winning that's why they want e transmission of results so that once network delays any results and they lost as expected, they go to tribunal to cancel those results. It won't work. Results can't be transmitted in real time for most parts of Nigeria. And you know it except you are an enemy of this country. E transmission of results? Yes!!! Real time transmission of results? NO!!! |

If they insist on real time transmission of election result, if on election day, something went wrong like ballot snatching, failed internet or any other uncontrollable issues and some polling units are unable to transmit in real time, these same people will call for outright cancellation of election result especially if they are already loosing based on the results already uploaded. |

Odin13:Even if Obi wins, He cannot change Nigeria. He does not have the capacity. Though, an Igbo would have become the president which is what Igbo wants. I wish Nigeria well. I would have preferred a 7 year one term rotational presidency in a quasi presidential and parliamentary type of system in Nigeria. This will help to deliver a working system fulfilling the yearning of regional/states confederacy and also balance the perceptiveness of marginalisation which is the main reason crippling the developmental efforts of governments over the years. I hope that we have a leader who can be able to bring about this changes. Else, l cannot guarantee Nigeria will be out of this cyclical situation in 50 years. |

The vigor of Nigerians to register for PVC and the call for mandatory e- transmission of results shows that they are tired of APC. APC should not fool themselves with all these defections of governors , e no be guarantee victory, I hope say dem know. |
