Looks like the initial lineup had calafiori at LB snd MLS at middle left. But it's not registering as a sub still. Last minute changes maybe

Saka wasn't in the starting line up
Who did he replace

Nice to Finally see Saka play that Odegaard role.

Kudos to Arteta for trying it out. I’ve always called for it.

Eze seems to be in the mood today. Let’s see how he performs in the premier league going forward.

Calafiori at LB and MLS in midfield. Calafiori got injured during warm up.

Quick question guys
Can Arteta ever free the boys and take less risk approach in matches?
I am very sure this wasn't the game plan today, watch wolves on Wednesday and see my point.
Eze is having the freedom he craves for today look at everyone and tell me Arteta can allow such freedom in epl
When Arteta was asked one thing he has learned from last seasons, he said the tactical part of the game, he said sometimes he realise that it can be overwhelming and players not understanding their roles. And Eze also agreed with that when he said the tactical part of the game is where he is having issues. Today he played more freely from start to finish and you can tell it was the game plan. And Wigan didn't press us as much as epl teams do, their low blocks wasn't so deep and there was always space especially in that first half.

Skelly was good today. Nice to see him play some good balls. He still has that roughness that can be useful and ugly at the same time, one reason why I fear playing him in midfield with how our defence is set while on progression.

I won't mind any of Wrexham, Port Vale/Bristol, Mansfield today.

Make those troublemakers eliminate themselves.

that's like 6 matches already this season between them. Make Newcastle win at least 3 and make epl next weekend be part of it. It is not easy but possible. Then anything can happen in their fa cup tie.

he is just a professional. No noise just doing his job when called upon. I know it is just wigan but he played so cool as a lone dm. Yesterday we attacked in a diamond formation in the first half, the forwards wasn't hugging the touchline which made the central passes to be effective. Wolves won't give us such opportunities on Wednesday, but let's see how it will turn out. No matter who plays and the formation, we just need the 3 points, even if it is half a goal, and clean shit is really important now too.

He has the leadership aura. He gats play more henceforth. And his passes from deep is exactly why some fans are still missing Partey. We missed those vertical passes especially for a team who has runners. That's one key area Arteta must improve in Summer. Someone mentioned Wharton. I like the guy but still not convinced.

Spy, I still remember this particular scenario and right now, I could still picture it. A simple right footed pass was all Viktor needed. Yet, Odegaard chose to dilly dally till the chance wasted.

A quick pass to Gyokeres would set the ball at his strong foot (right). We all know how powerful his shots are.
😂

You guys enjoy fantasy and forget there is anything like reality.

Go and check how many chances Gyokeres have missed from his right foot. Already I am assuming that he will trap the ball properly

Saka 🤝 Arsenal

The England international has officially signed a new deal until 2031, following a verbal agreement in January.

Sources have told BBC Sport that the agreement will make Bukayo Saka the highest-paid player at Arsenal, earning in excess of £300,000 per week.

Saka had previously signed a contract in 2023 that was due to run until 2027 - BBC Sport
