Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and ADC chieftain, has said that US President Donald Trump called Nigeria a “disgraced country” because a certificate forger was allowed to become president.

Speaking at his official declaration for the ADC presidential ticket in Akwa Ibom on Saturday, Obi took a jab at President Bola Tinubu, referring to controversies surrounding his academic credentials.

“I went to Indonesia and asked their election organisers about the qualification to be president. They said if someone forged their qualification, they would be jailed,” Obi said. “Here, they treat it as a pre-election matter. Someone forges a certificate or doesn’t have one it’s allowed. That’s why the American president called Nigeria a ‘disgraced country.’”

The remark comes amid the ongoing Tinubu Chicago State University certificate controversy. Opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar had sought court approval to subpoena Tinubu’s academic records, citing inconsistencies in public documents. Tinubu filed to block the release of the records, and the Nigerian Supreme Court later dismissed new evidence, reaffirming his 2023 electoral victory.

Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The matter continues to stir debate over leadership credibility and electoral integrity in Nigeria.

......It concerns me because I’m fully convinced that a tinubu presidency would not only destabilise nigeria internally, it would damage nigeria globally, making it a big laughing stock, a butt of dark international jokes!

Truth is, next year’s presidential election will have huge long-term implications, its outcome will affect nigeria for decades. Therefore, no patriotic Nigerian should sit on the fence; that patriotism is what underpins this intervention. To be sure, the presidential election should be as much about character as manifesto.

The presidency is too serious an office to be invested in someone with serious integrity deficit. Those ignoring character and integrity should remember the Turkish proverb: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus.”

Why should Nigerians vote for someone this empty as a president?

If President Tinubu forged his certificate,Mobil will not have allowed him in their company and even assigned him very important responsibilities.
The most important documents you can get in USA universities are ypur transcripts and President Tinubu transcripts are all over the internet showing that he was a first class and very intelligent student unlike Mr Obi.
Certificates are not so important but necessary if you need them.They can be produced by third parties.
Mr Obi doesn't know this because he was/is a third class graduate who knows next to nothing or a little about this.
