Speaking of overpopulaiton, most western countries want overpopulation. Heck, most people want overpopulation. Hating overpopulation was a thing 30 years ago. Not today.

The main problem right now is underpopulation. One reason why many people are opposing trump on immigration is that if not for immigration to the USA...legal and illegal, USA would be like Japan

Japan is in a bad state. More older people than younger people. Bus services being cut because not enough young drivers. Taxi drivers being sixty and above in age. Schools closing down or merging because not enough children. Not enough doctors and nurses, so much so that hospitals are closing down. And whole villages are being wiped out or are dying out. And the government has to borrow money for pensions and elder care because....not enough young people are working to pay taxes that would have paid for those things. And even farming self...far more farmers are getting old and older.

No one supports that theory of overpopulation anymore. Even china and india are scared of underpopulation more than overpopulation. China in particular is already seeing more elderly than young babies being born, and it is freaking them out...to the point that they ended the one child policy offically some years ago (some provinces had done that unofficially ages ago).
