Kuwait is a better option,if your brother is hardworking. I will like to know what type of job your brother is going to do. I have a nephew that has been there for about 2 years now,and he is doing well. I asked about the job, because the job Nigerians do mostly if they are not professional is driving and security job. Ask the agent well before you make that payment. Another thing that I notice is the amount the agent is charging you. 4m or less should be able to send him there. If you need more info, feel free to ask. I wish him well. |

KhalifaJay:With all the bad stories and reviews people experienced from those Muslim countries... U want to sacrifice your brother and send him there thinking his own will be different. People in those Oman and Kuwait are running away to Europe and America for better living... Those people value cows and their pets more than blacks all thanks to your rulers |

I have called my friend in Kuwait and this were her words . Before leaving Africa she was promised a good salary, but when she arrived the contract was different and the pay was lower than what she agreed to. Because she had already travelled and even borrowed money to go, she had no real choice but to accept it. This is common where workers are shown one contract at home and another on arrival. Her employer collected her passport immediately. Even though this is illegal, it still happens a lot. Without her passport she could not leave the country and she could not change jobs. Under the sponsorship (kafala) system, the employer controls your residency status. If they cancel it, you can instantly become illegal. Because of that she was afraid to complain even when she worked very long hours with almost no proper rest days. Sometimes her salary was delayed. Some days she worked from morning until late night. She depended completely on the employer. She also told me her movement was controlled. Even going out into the city was scheduled by the employer, sometimes only once a month. Many workers she knows live the same way. They have been there for years and cannot easily leave because their passports are held and their visa depends on the employer. She feels trapped and says she lives like a slave because she cannot freely decide where to go or when to stop working. It has affected her mentally and emotionally. The weather is another serious problem. During summer temperatures can go above 50°C. For people working outside like construction, security, or delivery, heat stroke and dehydration are real dangers. Even indoor domestic workers still suffer because of long hours and lack of rest. There are also strict laws and cultural differences. Alcohol is illegal, public behaviour rules are stricter, and even social media posts criticizing authorities or arguing with employers can become legal trouble. Something normal back home may become a police matter there. If you do not speak Arabic it becomes even harder to defend yourself or solve disputes. No matter the confirmation or promises given before travelling, it is still risky. Almost everyone my friend knows there is in similar conditions, working only under employer terms and unable to freely change jobs. Some people succeed, but many struggle silently because they cannot just leave. If you still plan to sponsor him, make sure everything is officially verified. Use only licensed recruitment channels, never let him travel on a tourist visa to work, confirm the contract through official authorities before he leaves, ensure he keeps copies of all documents, inform family of his exact address and employer, register with his embassy immediately after arrival, and get written agreement that the employer will not keep his passport and allows job transfer if needed. Please do not rush because of money. Sometimes what looks like an opportunity can turn into suffering if things are not properly arranged. It is better to delay and be safe than to send someone into a situation where leaving becomes difficult. |

KhalifaJay:Both are good if he want to do odd jobs, like filing station attendant, Driver, Construction but he will be a slave. but if he is good at selling he should look at China, register a company in China and live in China and do importation into Nigeria, he can find odd jobs too, China is the best options for him |

KhalifaJay:Both countries are not good. The pay in most Gulf states are poor compared to Europe or the US. The best advice is for him to research the salaries of workers. He won't get a white collar job, only blue collar and they don't pay well. Why not expend your money on him learning an IT program? |
| Re: Guys Should I Go Ahead And Sponsor Him Or Should I Not ? by SaintLucia: 2:22pm On Feb 17 |
I have been to both countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar. The truth is that these Gulf countries are for professionals (expatriate) who got their job and working permit directly from the host country and not like the usual Europe or United States where you can go and do the odd jobs. The odd jobs here are meant for Banga, Indian, Philippino, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Indonesian, Nepalese, they will collect your international passport and you begin to work like a slave with poor salary. |

AfahaAbia:Stop spreading lies. I lived in the Arab countries for 7 years. Tell them the truth. You will regret it if you enter as an illegal immigrant. If you don't have your work permit, life will not be easy with you. If you have your work permit, Kuwait is far better than so many European countries. Is tax free. They are not Muslim fanatics and extremist. They are lot of Americans and Europeans working in Kuwait. What Nurses receive here in Kuwait is far more than what Nigeria pay their Chief Medical Directors as salary. Racism is very low and they are very receptive. Just stay out of crime. |

Your brother must be very smart , that place is the futre. The owners of the world are gradually destroying all the major population centres, and moving all the worlds resources to small islands and that area that having been preparing for decades now being refferd to as Greater Israel Project , That's all the countries around Israel, UAE, Lebanon Syria, Saudi, Kuwait etc, that area is the future. That is what all the middle east wars over the decades have been about, they were clearing that area to become their center of operation, same way they are clearing the Sahel region with their terrorists Anybody young star starting out now no longer need waste thier time with USA Europe, its the middle east, Singapore, Hawaii , HonKong, pick any small island thats is a major commercial hub, those places are the future. Everybody who can afford it in USA and Europe are moving to Middle East areas like UAE, Saudi , Kuwait etc, cause they know there is a change of guard happening of the type that saw London hand over power to NewYork centuries ago. SO that right now the western world is handing over power to the middle east, china, Russia . The oyinbo owners of the world have a family problem, they have screwed over so many oyinbo so the oyinbo rulers no longer trust thier people so they are spreading thier eggs out of the western basket into the global sphere, since they control the whole world, including china russia etc. So prepare for a future where the place to be is no longer just going to be the west. Its gona be happening mainly in middle east cause its the centre of world. That is what the Dubai UAE project is about, its not an Arab project, its an Oyinbo western project as they demote Washington DC and promote the Centre of the world. If you have not noticed all major world conferences like WHO , World Bank etc are no longer taking place in the west, but in UAE. |

Let me tell you something...I have a friend in Kuwait now, he traveled since last year December, he now want to come back in any given opportunity. Driving job every where over there, you will stay at home for like 3 months doing nothing,. The task of delivering 500 items in one month don't make them sleep and some ends up having accidents of which you must pay damages of your car and the person involved whether you are right or wrong as far as na there people you hit. Some have worked in company for more than 5 years paying money. Sometimes self na people for Nigeria go send them money make they settle and come back. The 5 million you are paying is for agent. The company does everything, that's why you must work nonstop so as for them to recoup there money. In fact story plenty. He better enter Ghana than any of the countries mentioned above. |

To be very honest, no country is bad on its own. What usually determines whether someone succeeds or struggles is the process and the means of entry, not just the destination. How a person enters a country, the kind of job waiting for them, and the long-term plan behind the move matter far more than the country’s name. If we take Kuwait as an example, the reality for most people coming through informal or paid agents is fairly predictable. Many end up as security guards, delivery riders, cleaners, or farm workers, depending on the case. The average pay is usually 150–200 KD, and salaries above that are quite rare. On paper, that can look attractive—roughly around a million naira per month—but it’s important to remember that you won’t be spending naira; you’ll be spending KD. Food, transport, and daily living costs quickly reduce what’s left. There are also strict laws. Something as simple as traffic fines or minor violations can wipe out a whole month’s salary or even more if one is not extremely careful. On top of that, there is no permanent residency or citizenship pathway, no matter how long you stay or how hard you work. So in most cases, it’s a short-term hustle, not a long-term future. Oman is often seen as calmer and slightly more flexible, but the structure is similar. Many of the same limitations apply: modest wages for low-skilled roles, dependency on employers, and no real long-term settlement plan. That’s why my honest advice is this: reason together as a family and think beyond survival: think about the future. Short-term money is important, yes, but so are growth, stability, and long-term benefits. When you look at long-range plans; education, career progression, residency options, and family security, Europe clearly stands out. That said, if someone is going abroad for a solid professional role, like; teaching, healthcare, engineering, or another skilled position, then it can make sense, even in places like Kuwait or Oman. In 3–4 years, they could save well and return stronger. But let’s be realistic: those good roles usually come with direct employment, proper contracts, and no agent fees. If large payments are involved, it’s often a sign the job isn’t one of those roles. In the end, the goal shouldn’t just be “to travel” or “to escape,” but to build something meaningful. A well-planned path will always beat a rushed decision, no matter the country. |
