You say U be EXPERT.

Why didn't U do the tracking yourself?

Just be making noise up and down
He didn't do it because of the bank limitation to release details of customer.
Are you a policeman?

Chai. Police indeed is NOT your friend.

After collecting all that from you, if it was actually something that they can really be of help, they'll still expect you to share the money recovered with them such that at the end they would have gotten more share of he recovery better than you.

In 2017 I had a messed up land purchase that saw me look at my 350k going down the drains. The land I paid for was in dispute and the village chief sided with the other contenders. The guys who sold the land showed me different replacement lands but I didn't like them (some didn't even have access). The agent who was so pained that the sellers didn't give him a cut from their end as originally agreed was pushing me to take the case to the police. I already know that land issue is mainly a civil matter and secondly I didn't even have that much time. But another concern was that even if I could recover the money, I'll likely loose half of it to the police for helping me recover it. I just forgot about the whole thing, but the Agent keep pestering them and threatening them. As God would have it, I was called year before last to come for settlement and that is how I received 500k for the 350k I had paid. The 500k is not exactly worth the real value at the time but it was far better than nothing on money I'd completely written off. I was happy I didn't waste my time and money with the police.
Did you later settled the agent who was fighting on your behalf?

He had a % from me when I bought and also when I was refunded.

However the guy was not really fighting them because of me. Besides the land sales which they didn't give him a cut as agreed, they later had other family issues (I think his being cheated may have contributed to him antagonising them in the family) and he was trying to see how he can instigate me or use me to fight them. But I don't have the time. He once called me to come to the police headquarters in the state, telling me that he had gotten them arrested because of the land issue which I was surprised and told him that I didn't send him to arrest anyone and I don't have time to be holding meetings with the police. I later found out he arrested them for some other family quarrel and wanted to draw me in based on the land issue probably to help offset the police billing. But I wasn't interested in wasting my time and dashing money to the police.

However, his efforts (for whatever reasons) did push them to refund so as to have peace at least from that direction.

What do you mean by "exclusive" here pls?
As a private citizen, I don't have the right to tap/track the phone number of a suspect, that's why I didn't do it

And you still carry your hand pay N60k to criminals after losing N200k to a thief. Have you seen where police help a Nigerian track any lost item before, except the wealthy class or those with big connection. It is better to trust a bandit than a police.

As enlightened as you are:

Don’t make any payment to the police without asking for the receipt, there would definitely not be a receipt and you also would have insisted on no receipt no payment.
My brother in this our country...police to issue you receipts for transaction?

Paga is now a safe haven for fraudster to operate and go scotfree. @poster, with your court order you should be able to get your money back from the bank, just ask for refund avd forget about the identity of the scammer. One has to be very careful these days because if u r scammed no policemen will help you recover your money, unless you too dupe someone to get your money back.
My brother, I did that but the bank refused, they said it is only my bank can write to them, then my bank said that they can only link the account

It doesn't make sense to involve the police in a case where a mere N200k is involved if your aim is to recover the money.

You can only do so if your real aim is to teach the thief/fraudster a lesson and wouldn't mind spending more than the N200k in question to achieve that aim.

In Nigeria, given how messed up the system is, you need to apply common sense in most of these things. Everything no be agidi 'due process'. The more you look, the less you see.
The aim is to know the identity of the fraudster because of speculation

1. They would never install CCTV cameras at the station. So they would boldly ask you for cash for bail. Even though it's millions. The annoying part is that they are so backwards in technology. You would see a typewriter or an ancient computer above 20 years old in a police station. You would not see a modern equipment at all.
They will never collect transfers or have a POS machine at the station, they demand for cash always and if it's time to pay they will always provide a POS merchant for you.
😂

And even if you call the DPO he/she will tell you he is not happy with what they did but they still continue doing it.
Who is fooling who?

Did u submit the court order yourself physically at the bank or u e-mail it to them. What do they mean by 'they can only link the bank'? I'm having the same issue presently, my court order is yet to come out, I just hope I get my money back from Opay and Paga.

I submitted physical but both of the banks turned it down and gave me a form to fill, after filling the forms both of them referred to the police should in case I was not satisfied with their processes

Anyways I'm dealing with the fintech bank, kuda is my bank while paga is the account used for the scam and I have been asked to provide a court oder which will make them effect a lien on the bank, although the court order isn't ready. I'll be sending it to their email addresses and await their response. This country is gone walahi. I'll advise you send a mail to the with the court order attached to it and copy CBN in the mail, then you should start calling them out on all their social media space until they act on your case.

DonADESIDA:
It is no longer news that Osakwe Ikechukwu Reginald, who is currently 38 years old and graduated from Delta State University in the department of Geology some years back, is a serial fraudster who specialises in defrauding BDCs, cryptocurrency owners/sellers, etc., with fake screenshots, SMS alerts and co.

Osakwe Ikechukwu Reginald was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) in January 2024. However, I wonder why he is still walking scot-free and still left to be defrauding innocent Nigerians. He has lived and known in Abraka, Delta state, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Makurdi, Lagos Island, Uyo, etc. He dates different girls and ladies mainly for the purpose of sleeping with them and using their bank accounts and details for fraud.
