Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken Nasir el-Rufai into custody after the former governor of Kaduna spent two nights with the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), sources have informed TheCable.

Multiple sources said el-Rufai was picked up from the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday night by the secret police.

Insiders said during his questioning at the anti-graft agency, investigators made several attempts to obtain a written statement from the former governor, but he repeatedly declined to provide one.

El-Rufai should go and brace the national security adviser. He is only doing his job.

If you are tapping the NSA device, that is terroristic on its own because you’re listening to top level security conversation that could be sold to terrorists and etc.

They should treat him like a criminal first until he says maybe he is chasing clout and just lying.

On Saturday, during an interview on Prime Time, an Arise Television programme, el-Rufai said “someone wiretapped” Ribadu’s phone, allowing him to listen to the NSA directing security operatives to effect his arrest.

I can't understand why he'd so stupïdly say what he said even if he had any evidence that “someone wiretapped” Ribadu’s phone, but the supposed secret police would still need to provide evidence of said wiretapping and El Rufai's involvement for him to have committed this particular crime.

P.s. I'm not up to date with his other alleged crimes, note, and even his suppose embezzlement of Kano's money still needs to be proven.

Nasir the Victorious, will come out of this unscathed as he always does, but Tinubu might just be the first ex-president to be tried and made to account for every single penny both during his time as governor and his 4 year stint as president. By then, he will no longer be in a position to "win over" folks like Ribadu, FFK, Bwala and Reno to his side by offering them appointments and financial inducements. Time is a gentleman.

The now NSA Ribadu investigated Tinubu and confirmed that he was sitting on over 75% of the Lagos State funds.

ElEufai has eventually helped Ribadu to get rid of him cos the two are contending to replace Tinubu should in case Atiku fails.
