Ramadan: Kebbi Government Reduces Working Hours For Civil Servants by SlavaUkraini(op): 7:47am On Feb 19
The Kebbi State Government has approved a two-hour reduction in official working hours for civil servants in observance of the Ramadan fasting period.

The directive followed the announcement of the commencement of Ramadan by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hafsat Tune, said the governor, Nasir Idris, approved the adjustment to ease the burden on fasting workers.

According to the statement, the new working hours will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, while work will close at 12:00 p.m. on Fridays throughout the fasting period.

Tune explained that civil servants across the state are expected to adhere strictly to the revised schedule, noting that normal working hours would resume at the end of the holy month.

The adjustment aligns with the practice in many predominantly Muslim states in northern Nigeria, where official hours are often shortened during Ramadan to accommodate the spiritual and physical demands of fasting.

Good for them.
The one thing I like about the Northerners is the fact they are the only ones practicing what seems close to true federalism .
They make their rules
They mine their minerals
Etc

So reduced work hours can cause underdevelopment but sitting at home every Monday or cancelling night and evening life in the name of oro will cause development?

Nigeria is truly a theocratic state!

We keep mouthing "Nigeria is a secular state" but, in practice, religion determines everything in the country.

Religion which ordinarily ought to be a personal relationship with God/Allah has become a state-dictacted policy.

Religion is truly the opium, sorry, the meth of the people.
