13 YEARS AFTER, HOPE RETURNS TO ABUA–NDELE CORRIDOR. Two months after assuming office, on Friday, July 28, 2023, Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, stepped into history. He visited the long-abandoned Abua–Agba Ndele Bridge and the Ahoada–Ndele Road project, a critical infrastructure link initiated in 2013 by former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. What he met was concerning: A strategic bridge left uncompleted for over 13 years. A project comprising a 1.2km approach road and a 240m-long, 9.6m-wide bridge connecting Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East and Emohua LGAs. Communities disconnected. Economic opportunities slowed. Acknowledging that this corridor provides faster access to the East–West Road and Port Harcourt, boosting agriculture, trade and the movement of goods and services, Governor Fubara did not just visit, he acted. His Excellency promptly re-engaged the contractor, Setraco Nigeria Limited. Today, the narrative has changed: From abandonment to advancement. From delay to delivery. From uncertainty to progress. Finishing touches are ongoing, and the long-awaited dream is now a visible reality. Commissioning will follow soon. This is governance in motion. This is continuity at work. This is leadership that builds on existing foundations for the collective good of Rivers State. #SimWorks May Gov. Sim Fubara succeed. This guy is claiming to do things without a budget approved by his HOA... I hope he learns from the travails of El Rufai... He may be getting away with it now because Tinubu is not really ready to allow a crisis foster in any state in Nigeria, much less Rivers State but as soon as he loses immunity, if he does not return in 2027 then he will understand there are indeed laws in Nigeria. For now, let him be playing to the gallery. autoez: |

Rivers people should make sure this man doesn't return to that government house and also make sure the next person coming there has no connection with Wike. These two people has made the state stagnant that after three years, the governor has nothing to show for it |

Why are you adding your account number to this post Mr John Chidi? Anyway, that is the problem, one requirement for every governor is to submit your budget to the HOA and have your budget approved before you can spend any money. The guy does not seem to realize he is boxing himself into a future trap, especially when he is an accountant. You see El Rufai's case, it was the HOA after he had left power that petitioned ICPC/EFCC... This Fubara guy will be straight forward when his time come because any expense at all even if he uses it to pay the HOA members, will be deemed illegal. You think the HOA members were stupid when they returned the 100k he sent to them in December without appropriation? Hangulsaram: |

9jatriot:Why are we fooling ourselves in this country? Has the budget passed by the National Assembly during the emergency rule expires? Why would the emergency rule be legal but a budget approved during the emergency rule not be legal? Please explain this to me. |

See who is taling about fooling ourselves int his country. Since this your guy entered in 2023, all his contemporary governors presented 2024 budget, he did not, 2025 he did not, now 2026 budget he has not. Is the budget for the administrator an infinite budget that wil last forever? You may think I am just hating on him but if you see how a state HOA can review a past administration like is being done to El Rufai and request for ICPC/EFCC to review his administration after he has left office and no longer enjoys immunity then you will see the risk he is putting himself.
