Many years ago when I was in the north, most hausa guys will go to brothels during breaking of fast and tell you so far the act was done after the break of fast, it's not a sin.

This is my problem with them. How can you go about arresting people at eateries? Do you know the state of their health? Even if they choose not to fast, is religion not a personal business? That's how one ibo woman was killed some 6 years ago in Kano. She was eating inside her shop during Ramadan and she was beating to death. I wonder if it's really a religion of peace.

One will quickly realize that Islam is nothing but a highly legalistic, oppressive ideology with nothing spiritual or enlightening about it. It's just a set of man made rules and regulations of what they think God is requiring of them. Who arrest people for not fasting? Isn't that barbaric?

Herein, Christianity differs diametrically from Islam.

Christianity believes that it's the Holy Spirit that does the actual conversion of the individual (sinner) into accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour and thereby becoming a born-again Christian.

The job of the Christian is to preach the gospel to unbelievers.

Islam, on its part, believes in conversion by brute force carried out by its adherents and sometimes even resorting to killing the so-called "unbeliever" for not accepting Islam.

If a Christian refuses to partake in fasting, it's left to him and his God to judge him and not some "Christian police", whatever that means.

I bless the Christian God for giving human beings the freewill to choose between good and evil, between light and darkness and between life and death since all judgement belongs to Him and not to any man or group of people.
