gumroad:
So guys, I applied on July 31 last year. About two weeks ago, I was notifed to submit my application for review. I submitted it using my full-time work contract, but it was rejected. My formal obligation letter (sponsorship letter) was also rejected because it was not marked “NACHGEWIESEN.”

I was then given three options: either provide a blocked account, submit a formal obligation letter that is officially verified with the “NACHGEWIESEN” remark and specifically marked for the Opportunity Card, or obtain a part-time work contract instead of a full-time one, with a monthly salary of around €1,200 — not significantly higher and not lower. Getting the sponsorship verification can take quite a long time, depending on the German state where the sponsor applies. In my case, it took my sponsor several months.

I eventually chose the blocked account option and have now rejoined the preliminary review stage. The blocked account is the quickest and most straightforward path at this point. If you can afford it, it is probably the best option among the available choices.
Please I am confused regarding this part-time work contract. I believe one is expected to obtain such in germany. if that is the case, will full time not be better than part time. or the contract is in one home country (Nigeria)

Please when you say full time employment can't stand for Opportunity card, what category are you talking about. is it in regards to prove of funds or what please. will appreciate if you help explain better
Yes. In terms of proof of funds. There are only 3 options: Blocked account, Sponsorship letter or part-time employment.

The dollar is dropping every day. It will definitely favor those on the waiting list who would want to use a block account.

We just pray for the best

I believe the logic behind their preference for part-time job as means of sustenance, is the fact that if you have a full-time job, you should already qualify for a skilled work visa or blue card directly, because Opportunity Card is strictly for Job Seekers in Germany.

So if you already have a job offer, full-time, it's either it qualifies you for a skilled workers visa or EU Blue Card directly, so you shouldn't be applying under Chancenkarte. So the embassy would deem it inappropriate for you to apply under Chancenkarte.

I think that was what also happened in the case of @Singlefile.

I have my visa appointment scheduled for 11th of March, but my health insurance expected start date is 15th of March, which is also the day my school resumes. Please, will this difference in dates cause any issue at the embassy? Has anyone experienced something similar? I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Please for Someone who studied Physics Education at university but wants to into Data Analysis in Germany
will they be asked for certification, employment letter, or portfolio at embassy during interview?

No, you don’t need to show proof. They just want to know if you are really ready to get a job over there. Moreover, you should still have like an email or messages to proof you have been searching for jobs, they can act funny and ask for proof.

Thanks for this. I can't find SoP and CV here. Or are they not needed for the interview?
If you didn't submit your letter of motivation and CV in the other documents section of the application form, you'll be asked to do so during preliminary review.

I tried even at midnight, is the same thing. Could it be because we are currently in weekend?

Anyone who has moved to Germany and is willing to provide some tips please.

I need to understand the process and plans made + how rent was navigated. I would be grateful.

If you have a contact in Germany, they can easily help you with rent and housing issues, otherwise you can search online for rental properties in your (destination) city and talk to a few people who are renting. The most important thing German landlords (Vermieter) consider is your ability to pay rent, so, if you have a job offer, let them know in advance and include your visa details and situation.

If you don't have a job offer, let them know you have a blocked account and can pay without issues even while job-hunting. There are so many sites, google is your friend 😉
