the unfortunate fact is that a large number of women HAVE been sexually assaulted. and it is usually by someone they know.

if we are honest with ourselves, there has always been a very very casual attitude towards rape in these parts

there are multiple incidents that i remember from my years in school where there was clearly sexual assault

one time in ife or UI apparently it was the culture that a girl who turned down too many guys would be 'wazzed' to 'teach her a lesson'

you have guys daring a girl to drink, telling her she cant handle beer like them - she takes up the challenge, gets black out drunk and then they take turns sleeping with her. then they go around telling everyone she is a sl-t

i have spoken more than once about a medical student who we all knew as a prolific serial grapist back then. very well spoken, very handsome, very smooth predator. he did not want sex - he wanted the power of forcing himself on a terrified victim. so yes, he would ask girls on dates, they would go to his place with him, and then rather than a jointly consummated affair, he would force himself on them, and then bully and threaten them

one victim basically developed mental issues and had to be taken to a psychiatrist. that was when the whole story came out and he was arrested. the guy got away with it and everyone in his circle believed it was a setup

like most deviants, he could not stop and he got weirder and weirder. he started doing gang grapes with a friend whee they would get the girl to his place , take turns, take pictures, shave the victims public hair. they did this to a girl whose friends dad was a police commissioner. that was how they got busted and arrested and the whole thing blew open. [this time everyone new what was up]. But the guy is a practicing doctor today. this is the side we don't talk about or acknowledge and may be why some women have the same approach to this that the black jury had to the OJ trial. yes we know oj is guilty, but black people have been fked over in court so many times we will let him get away with it

there was a girl i knew in school who grew up in unilag . her dad was DSA at one time. NOTHING can make this girl come to your room. Likely because as a child growing up in unilag, she had seen and heard it all. once you were in the guys room/place, it is no longer he forced himself on me, but, what were you looking for here?

one time these boys in the room next to mine actually tried to set up the gf of one of them. she came to see the guy, and while she was waiting, they jumped on her. the only saving grace is she was a very razz babe who immediately started shouting the house down until guys in the hostel intervened.

consequence free Sexual assault is a very real thing and we should not pretend that it does not exist.
Very well said, or is it the craziness that happens at university parties/bonfires where a girl would be doing what could be termed open air romance in the course of dancing, going one guy after another, then all of a sudden because some guys can't wait their turn or feel like the girl has been monopolized proceed to mob assault her Indian men style, and the result is either a fight between the girl and the guys (if she's strong enough), or she succumbs and she leaves the place in tears.

Back then, being "decent" was not being a part of the mob and in our minds we'd feel like the girl was making a mountain of what had happened to her, afterall "nothing had changed", and the anger you feel towards the guys is they messed what was a good thing up for everyone. But with maturity you know it's two very different things, and her consent and control over what was happening was just as important as what was happening.

Or is it the entitlement guys feel to sex from a girl once they hear she's easy game, to the extent where they'd pick offence if she rebuffs their advances? We see symptoms of this play out in our markets where men assume they can assault a woman because she's skimpily dressed.

On the flip side, there's also a culture around sex that makes women believe they must play silly resistance games that's akin to a fight with the guy so they don't look "cheap", and if you take cue and not push when she puts up that resistance they say you didn't want them enough, or not a real G or whatever.

These conversations are pretty nuanced, and the feminists and red pillers who are essentially two sides of the same coin pick very extreme positions that prevents people from coming to the truth of male-female relationship dynamics. Nothing gets reesolved, and the actual bad eggs in the male-female camps hide under the confusion to continue doing awful stuff.

The hálfwit can never be more feminist than Dr. Olufunmilayo on Twitter pre-2020. After a woman ruined him and he was jobless from 2020 to 2023 when he was fully exonerated in the U.K., nobody is more redpiller than him.

He can never be more feminist than Solomon Buchi was pre-2022 who is hard on these issues now.

The very case on frontage is of the girl falsely accusing her coursemate via WhatsApp. She's being investigated now but, according to Kim Kardashian, WhatsApp chats are inadmissible when charged to court.

I can go on and on.

The knuckléhead should threaten someone this minute with violence or admit to a crime on WhatsApp then see if the Evidence Act of 2011 and Cybercrime Act won't be activated.

Remember this clearly: It was Nasiru El-Rufa’i who stood at Chatham House and answered security questions on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. On that same day, at that same venue, Reno was outside protesting that Tinubu should not become president.

Today, Reno is an ambassador.
El-Rufa’i is the one in custody.

If you want to ignore that contrast, go ahead, but at least open your eyes before choosing who to follow. Blind loyalty has never protected anyone.

Happy birthday, Chief. Try chop life oh grin

The Tenancy matter is horrible. Our Landlord evicted everybody from the building we trade. He said he wants to renovate, but we all know that they probably want to double or triple the rent for new tenants. If it was us, we for protest.

Finding a new place is even worse. The prices are something else. How much I wan sell wetin I put for shop, if rent alone dey reach 3.5 million per year?

The Real Estate sector is finished, to be honest. It would take a dictator to fix some of the issues there. Greed don finish everything.

Imagine a One room going for 1.6 million in Festac....

Road construction or providing electricity and pipe borne water are not the signs of good governance unless the funds are not generated from public or borrowed

That's because any idiot can issue out a contract to Julius Berger to build roads. Even that basic amenities self we haven't seen.

Good governance is a function of the policies that make life better for people. 130m Nigerians have been thrown into multidimensional poverty due to the policies of Tinubu.

So apart from the facts that he lacks credibility being a criminal drug lord and an impersonator, corruptly rigging his way into power, he has done worse for the country since independence
If any govt can do it, why did it take the APC govt to build the 2nd Niger bridge after all these years

Are you saying those roads do not make the lives of the people better? You can protest by refusing to ply those roads

The dispatch rider effed up.

He should have shot his shot in person when he met her, gauged her reaction and sought her consent before going the phone route.

Something like, "I didn't wanna take this order but having met you I'm glad I did. Damn, you're fyyne and have brightened up my day". Do you mind if I buzz you when I get off work?

He'd have most likely received a NO due to his looks and the difference in economic levels but hin don shoot hin shot, sabi how the babe rate am and he'd keep it moving.

(I once read a story on NL about how a dispatch rider did a delivery to a babe, and how the babe contacted the guy because dude was very fyne and articulate, and they started dating).

He crossed the line by chatting her using the phone number he was given for delivery without seeking her consent.

In this life, get sense.

Edit:

@ GloriousGbola, you once asked how I take land my madam. Na the format above I use. I was working the registration desk of a conference and one of those documenting people. As I dey register madam, I chyke am say na now I know why dem put me for this committee, and assign me to deskwork today. I asked for her number, and her response was "but you already have it' making reference to the entry in the logbook which included people contacts. So I later buzz am, and it took off from there. We don do 8 years now.

End.
The story you read on NL that was referenced, how is it different from what the fired dispatch guy did?

This is why I don't take most of what @Raumdeuter says in defence of Tinubu's administration serious at all. And that's why I keep maintaining that only people who are here with us who live the everyday reality can have my attention to argue what they believe Tinubu has done to make their lives better as a Nigerian who has no APC affiliation nor has access to government/politics money.

My landlord increases house rent almost every year in a bid to catch up with the high cost of living that would pauperize him if he doesn't increase house rent, I buy fuel at x4 of what it was before tinubu got there almost every day, my nepa bill has increased significantly with no improvement in power supply, I even had to buy a solar fan recently to save cost of fueling generator overnight, cost of cooking gas has increased significantly, and someone comes online to tell me to "Relax, Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria".

The same Nigeria lawmakers buy new cars every year. The same Nigeria Tinubu bought escalade owó iyebiye almost immediately he was sworn in, the same Nigeria Tinubu bought a new presidential jet, the same Nigeria tinubu spends billions gallivanting all over the globe, the same Nigeria Tinubu spends billions on his Healthcare abroad.

Issokay!

It's easy for someone not living the reality to say these things. But I Wan see person wey dey live the reality with us explain the rationale behind why I need relax. I Wan see person wey dey here with us wey dey go through wetin dey happen with us to tell me I'm wailing and writing epistles that do not reflect the current reality of things.

Do well to show me just one post from me dismissing Tinubu's administration constructing roads! Just show me one.

I know u like to major in the minor and amplify inanities. Why do I need to make a post praising Tinubu for constructing roads? The same roads Jonathan constructed and you still find ways to point out so many failings of his government.

But here you are wanting me to praise Tinubu for doing something as basic as constructing roads while other aspects of the common man's lives continue to suffer.

I will continue to point out the failings of the current government and I will watch how u will try to make light of his failure in Ur attempt to make it seem like he's done anything out of the ordinary despite claiming to be fixing Nigeria. 🤮🤮🤮

You have posted many times that no one can mention 3 ways lives of people improved. I have mentioned more than 3 including the roads which you dismiss. Even this poster said you roads but you conveniently cut it out to continue with your agenda

If he has not done anything out of the ordinary and road construction is basic then previous admin would have done it too and we wont have the huge infrastructure deficit

If Jonathan like you claimed did those roads then Tinubu wont have to do it. Jonathan even said openly he would go on exile if he didnt complete 2nd Niger Bridge. Yet it took Buhari to complete it

Tinubu is making progress

Not to take any stars from his infrastructure achievements, but everybody does roads.

Most of the roads Tinubu is doing now was not bad during GEJ's time

Sagamu-Ijebuode wasn't bad
Benin-Asaba wasn't bad

We can praise him for this, but that doesn't mean the others didn't do any road.

Which useless progress when over 141 million Nigerians live below poverty line in 2026 according to PWC? There's no government that has ruled Nigeria since 1999 that didn't construct/rehabilitate roads, so what makes Tinubu special? Maybe because he awarded some road construction projects to his cronies ( who are of questionable character) without following due process.

Continue to tell yourself what makes u happy. Not like I take anything u say about Tinubu's so called progress to heart Sha.

Enjoy your weekend.

Has he even been praised for it? BlueRayDick claims no positive has come from this govt. But people who live in Nigeria are claiming that all over there are major road projects
Other govt probably did but maybe not at this rate or the quality differs and people are saying they are mostly concrete roads which means better technology maybe last longer and not the wishy washy jobs of the past. That is strategic thinking

New roads like Sokoto Badagry, coastal roads to open new corridors never thought of before shows that is next level thinking like he did in Lagos where he tamed the Atlantic instead of using bucket to scoop ocean water like previous admins will be doing and claiming they also did something

Those 61% of Nigerians living under poverty will determine next year who they want to rule them

If you like award your project to your right hand or your wife. What people care about is that they have the road to use.

Do you ask about who was awarded the 3rd mainland bridge or Lekki bridge or Lagos Ibadan or Onitsha Bridge when you use it or simply just enjoy the roads?

Next level is opening new route in addition to renovating existing routes

The coastal road will ensure that those coastal areas are now open to development and even beach resorts which might trigger real estate and tourism in that axis

When those places become thriving like Eko Atlantic people will still say it's nothing

Yesterday was my birthday and I can't find a reason to celebrate. It feels like I'm hustling backwards. Salary is no longer enough. You will hustle, pay bribe, talk, beg and plead to get side contracts to support salary and yet bills swallow everything like you're not doing enough.

Landlords are raising rents every year. And it started from 2023 when this man got on that chair. Between 2023 and today, my rent has increased 344%. I don't think anyone can out-hate me when it comes to Tinubu.

I travelled recently and saw the infrastructural strides and can't take that away from him but my quality of life has seriously nose dived.
PBAT's declaration that "subsidy is gone" go far gaan. It changed things overnight and plunged Nigerians into cataclysmic depths never seen before.

In addition to the extra hustles, you gats adopt some aggressive cost-saving measures, if you haven't already.
