Nigerians only take Presidential and Governorship elections serious, to them, others don't matter and it's really a bad practice
Re: Early Results From FCT Area Council Elections by Ofunaofu: 3:32pm On Feb 21
Don’t post fake results emanating from the APC situation room.

Nigerians asked for the electronic transmission of election results from polling units to be made mandatory. The Tinubu-led APC regime said no, citing insecurity in nine states, a national grid shutdown, and network issues. Yet here they are, setting up situation rooms with internet access to collate what exactly?

Obviously, to generate fake results and spread them around to create confusion.

Thunder 🔥⚡🔥 all of una there

In 2022, APC lost 3 out of the 6 FCT area councils. In fact, PDP won AMAC with a landslide.

ADC claimed they want to make a statement with toddy’s election. Atiku, Peter Obi and Dalung were all deployed to campaign and mobilize for the party all over the city. So, no excuse will be acceptable if they fail to put up an impressive performance.

Peter Obi is too demented to realize he doesn't have the charisma to influence votes for others. Anambra shamed him last year and he still came to Abuja to parade about with his latest victims.

You want to win Wike, so that Fubara will release a song for him. Over his dead body, that will be after his burial. Even if Wike dies and he is not yet buried, he will wake up and win; except you have buried him. Only one man rose from death after burial, that was in Jerusalem over 2,000 years ago; His name is Jesus

Dr Mo won his polling unit. 7 to 2 votes.
ADC Defeats APC, Wins First Polling Unit In FCT Council Election by ogododo: 3:40pm
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) to win its first polling unit in the ongoing Area Council Elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The election, which recorded widespread low turnout of voters, saw the opposition coalition carrying the day at polling unit 076, Sani Abacha Estate, Wuse, Zone 4, where Dr. Moses Paul, candidate of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), cast his ballot.

Of the 10 ballots cast at the voting point, ADC took the majority of 7, APC trailed with two, while one vote was declared invalid.

Earlier, Paul had alleged intimidation of his party’s agents and blamed the movement restriction for the low turnout announced by the Minister of the FCT for the low voter turnout recorded in parts of the council.

FCT poll: ADC candidate alleges intimidation, blames movement restriction for low turnout in AMAC
He said the turnout was far lower than expected and attributed it to what he described as confusion created by the restriction directive.

He said he had lived in AMAC for about 40 years and had never witnessed such a situation, noting that the development appeared like “a state of emergency” over what he considered unwarranted.

He said although electoral officials at his polling unit were professional and followed due process, reports reaching him indicated that ADC agents in Takum Shara and parts of Kabusa ward, including Dogongada and Shereti, were allegedly threatened and intimidated.

He added that some agents were allegedly told they would be maimed or killed, and noted that such actions were aimed at suppressing voters and influencing the process in favour of the ruling party.

He said vote buying was criminal and alleged that it was ongoing in parts of the capital city.

He added that despite the challenges, he remained confident of emerging victorious, noting that the will of the people would prevail and urging Nigerians to resist intimidation and demand accountable leadership.

Re: Early Results From FCT Area Council Elections by EponObi(f):
The same pattern in the North during the 2023 election - where/when APC loses, the margin is very small.

When APC wins, the margin is very wide.

My Lordship, please let the record show that Peter Obi really put body inside this election as if him dey contest. 👇
.
EponObi:
He said, "It will help me!" - either to project strength against Atiku or position him higher for the VP ticket.

In all sha, I think that statement will comeback to hurt Obi. He just gave the APC and Wike every reason to make sure his candidate fail. Reasons being Lagos and Abuja being high priorities for 2027 election and to prove that Obi has lost his mojo.

IF Moses Paul loses, I hope Obi's minors won't come here to say "Obi was not on the ballot".
Obidents go cry go church tomorrow. Their pastors self no go fit console them.

You have a point but like I said earlier, in Nigeria, there is a sad culture of neglecting every other election in Nigeria outside Presidential and Governorship elections.

It's like a culture.

Nigerians don't take LGA election serious, only staunch party loyalists take it serious.

Another demoralizing thing is the Senate refusal to make transmission of polling unit election result compulsory, it really demoralized many Nigerian youths who now believe that APC/Tinubu will rig the election via manual collation.

And God in heaven knows, two things I am very sure that Peter Obi will do for Nigeria that will reposition Nigeria for a great future if elected President are:

1.) Complete electoral reform to make Nigerian elections more electronic such that rigging will be reduced to the barest minimum, which would make it possible for honest, sincere Nigerians that are not moneybags to emerge leaders through credible elections and that will also force elected government officials in Nigeria to start working hard to deliver their campaign promises knowing fully well that only people's vote can assure them reelection and not their party structure of criminality or the power of incumbency.

2.) Peter Obi will definitely cut down cost of governance in Nigeria and will even make government office positions less financially rewarding and less attractive to money mongers who see public office as a short cut to become rich/wealthy.

You see these two things, I am very sure that Peter Obi will do them if elected President.

I'm not in or against the transmission of election results but truly, even you will agree with me that not all villages can boast of network 🛜 in this country.
I was at Ekiadolor yesterday for a wedding celebration and for the over 5 hours that I spent at the wedding, not even my mtn hard network. Imagine yesterday was an election day, what would have the INEC ad-hoc staff do?
Even at Okomu oil axis in the same Edo state, most times workers gat to go uphill to access the network

My brother don't let these current criminals we have today as leaders to whitewash or gaslight you into believing their Mills and Boon stories.

When you hear electronic transmission of polling unit election result in realtime, what do you even think? Have you ever participated in any Nigerian election? I have worked as INEC Presiding Officer when I was a Youth Corper.

Nobody is talking about full electronic voting whereby as soon as a voter cast his or her vote, it automatically reflects on the central server in realtime, no that's not what we are asking for, maybe in future we will get to that point.

What Nigerians mean by transmission of polling unit election result in realtime will not take up to 10 minutes to complete and will not consume up to 50 MB data and can be completed even with a 2G internet network of less than 50mbps.

It is done after the last voter cast his or her vote at the polling unit and the INEC Presiding Officer record each candidate's total votes into the form EC8A and signs, then each candidate via his/her party agent counter signs, the INEC Presiding Officer then snap this signed/counter-signed form EC8A with the provided BVAS machine used for voter accreditation and then transmit this snapped signed form EC8A to INEC's central server together with the total number of accredited voters for that polling unit right at the polling unit and it's over.

So the realtime they are talking about is making sure every polling unit election result is transmitted electronically to INEC's central server called iREV from the polling unit and not outside the polling unit where the result can be altered in favor of incumbent government officials.

And if Nigeria want to achieve this, INEC officials can be provided with alternative Internet network access device to use in such remote areas with internet network challenges.

Saying some remote villages don't have access to Internet and therefore we should continue with this archaic, mundane manual collation of election results in Nigeria in 2026 is baseless

Obi's father and mother were rich even before Tinubu joined his drug business and same can't be said of Tinubu whose identity is unknown

No you are wrong.

Peter Obi's father was a wealthy man.

His mother too was rich through her own personal trading business.

Obi was born into wealthy family and he built on it.

Tinubu was adopted by Madam Abibatu, which is not a crime, but he was from a wretched background before Madame Tinubu adopted him.

Tinubu's source of wealth is questionable and it only ballooned after he became Lagos state Governor in 1999, so Peter Obi and Tinubu are never in the same league.

Peter Obi is from the noble class while Tinubu came from the hood which is not also a crime but it's unfortunate that despite coming from the hood, Tinubu refused to show empathy for the weak, the poor and the helpless in Nigeria through his anti-people policies and careless actions
