FCT Election: My Experience At Dutse Alhaji Polling Unit, Bwari by SageTravels(op): 8:49pm On Feb 21
Today, I voted at my polling unit in Dutse Alhaji under the Bwari Area Council in the FCT Area Council elections, and the experience left me thoughtful.

I arrived a little after 10 a.m., and to my surprise, the environment was unusually calm. It almost felt as though nothing significant was happening. Unlike previous elections where the atmosphere was crowded and energetic, this time the turnout was noticeably low. Out of 133 registered voters in my unit, only 14 people showed up to cast their votes.

Despite the low turnout, the process was completely peaceful. Security personnel were present, but they had virtually nothing to do. There was no tension, no conflict, and no disruption of any kind. It was 100% calm.
I collected both the Chairman and Councillorship ballot papers and voted for the candidates of my choice without any interference.

There was no harassment, no intimidation, and no pressure from anyone. Political party agents conducted themselves responsibly they did not attempt to influence voters, and there was no sign of vote buying. Everyone was allowed to make their choice freely.

One of the highlights for me was the professionalism of the electoral officers (INEC ad hoc staff). They were transparent in everything they did. They openly displayed each step of the process, and after voting concluded, we watched as the results were entered and transmitted online in our presence. It gave a sense of credibility and openness to the exercise.

Interestingly, APGA won the Councillorship election in my polling unit. In a time when many believe everyone has aligned with the ruling party, this result was a reminder that people still have independent minds and will vote for who they truly prefer even without inducement or heavy spending.

From what I witnessed in my unit, it is clear that when elections are allowed to be free and fair, people can regain trust in the electoral process.

My only hope is that the results remain intact through the collation process and are not altered at the collection center.

Overall, it was a quiet election day but a credible one.

This is yet another proof that social media nuisance doesn't win elections. If you used social media to judge this election, you would think ADC would win landslide but here we have the underrated APGA, sending ADC to the dustbin.

Don't mind them, noise markers. Most of the people you see online do not have pvc. Yeye de smell.

This is exactly why Nigeria must never become a one-party space.
Democracy survives on competition, alternatives, and independent thinking. When citizens have real options, credibility increases and accountability becomes stronger.
No nation grows well under political dominance by one party alone — that leans toward quiet autocracy.
We must continue to strengthen credible alternatives like ADP so Nigerians always have a real choice.
One Destiny. Action Forward.

Re: FCT Election: My Experience At Dutse Alhaji Polling Unit, Bwari by PigTormentor:
Elections are won at the polling units on ground, not on social media.
The shelacking that Obi and Atiku will receive in 2027 will make them wonder if they are dreaming or sleep walking.
That 2023 results was an aberration, it will not happen again. Especially in Lagos, Obi will never come as close as he did in 2023 again. Take this to the bank.

Some people that are not residents of Abuja or did not even step outside their house will come here to say something else.

Very soon they will start calling Abuja "no man's land".

To avert such scenario, APC smartly presented Nigerians of Northern muslim extraction.
Re: FCT Election: My Experience At Dutse Alhaji Polling Unit, Bwari by naijacann: 9:33pm On Feb 21
As a neutral observer, my question is: what if APC had better candidates, there is no way they would lose. Also, for those who prefer Obi, we are all aware that Obi was not on the ballot. We also know how Labour Party candidates whom the people supported because of Obi in the 2023 election, all bolted and defected as they had no integrity. As a result, people may not necessarily care if APC won the Abuja council area elections as we can't guarantee the winners wouldn't defect to APC tomorrow. Having said that, I still want to go back to my first point, what if APC had the better of the candidates than ADC, we shouldn't blame the people if they vote APC

So that snake venom that bought groundnut candidate in this election lost your polling unit. Na wah o. So the election was between ADC and patriotic Nigerians then.

I couldn't vote.

I stayed indore just hitting the street now.

No moral to vote!

No confidence in the election!

Infact election in Nigeria is arguably a mirage.

Out of 133 registered voters only 14 voted and you never boadered to ask why?

Election can never be credible in Nigeria even if Jesus Christ supervise everything all by himself.
The looser in this case Obi will still lie that they rig him.

Do you remember that he sold the lie that he was rigged to his disciples in 2023 election?

But in all his 5 points in court, no case of rigging appeared in any form.
But his robots still continue to claim that he was rigged. Pathetic loosers

Everywhere except your own land is no man's land as usual.

You will be alright las las.

As you can see, the indigenes of Abuja are sleeping with their two eyes opened. The two positions and APC candidates are Nigerians of northern muslim extraction.

That is how a strategic party connects with the indigenes. You can keep creating social media content and insulting your hosts, they will not allow you cheat them.

Will you let a Nigerian of Northern muslim extraction contest for such posts in your own state and SE geopolitical zone? No!

A whole polling unit with less than 20 voters.

Looks like Nigerians are no longer interested in election

The SDP Chairmanship candidate for AMAC is an Igbo guy. He was busy visiting Igbo groups, associations and Eze Ndigbos. Go and check his FB.
He was warned beforehand and roundly rejected today.

Abuja is not no man's land. Onitsha is home for all.
