afrodoc2:Macedonians are also "core Greeks" nonetheless. This talk of whether they're Greeks or not is a nuanced one truly and one with propagandists leanings from Athenians. It is mostly political. On the issue of when Macedonians started participating in the Olympics. Olympics wasn't actually a universal thing in the Greek world, and only gained popularity as time went by. It was regional at first. And the ancient Olympics then usually only stated the names of the victors or Kings; not the losers or other people that participated so no one is certain about everyone that participated. Yep, the Macedonians were at the extreme end of Greece being in the North. And the fact that the Olympics was held in Olympia meant Macedons were very far away. So naturally, the Peloponnese largely dominated due to proximity. What of regions like Thesally and Crete which only got recorded after more than 200yrs of Olympics? Will you say they're aren't core Greeks? There is literally no evidence that Macedonians were barred from participating. We all know how the Greeks fought between themselves for hundreds of years and trying to one up each other. It's just a case of some Greeks especially Athenians who see themselves superior saying "you're not Greek enough". It was largely a political talk. One being that Macedonia wasn't democratic and was a Kingdom as opposed to the different city-states in Greece. |

GloriousGbola:Online different from offline. But what I just see or mostly observe is that online creates this facade you can say shït you like without consequences. I believe people are wired differently the way they relate online with how they behave in the real world. Pent up passion and anger easily gets poured online. Tribalistic fights, religious and gender wars are usually entrenched online. People go still knack but distrust still dey. |

GloriousGbola:Him think say na beans. Older ones know how to navigate these things and will digest it as few bad eggs or extremists doing the most. But I don't Young peeps especially them Gen Zs know the difference. And this thing is already getting ingrained in their psyche or daily life small small. I don't know a gen Z male personally so I can't be sure of their psyche but even me as an adult know certain ways arguments between the opposing sides influence my thoughts or my perception of the opposite gender..... Na base on experience and my personal beliefs person dey use readjust himself. How Gen Z wan take know all these nuances?? |

abduleez1:You keep mixing not being core Greek with not being Greek. There has always been a debate about this even in ancient times. I never even said that they were not Greek but that they were not in the core Greek areas. Firstly, the fact is that when Alexander I of Macedon applied to participate in the 80th Olympiad, a panel of judges had to adjudicate his claim to be considered Greek. Many Greek city-states didn't consider him Greek, but the judges decided in his favour. Modern historians are in agreement that this was the first time Macedonians were allowed into the games. They were barred before this, otherwise there would not have been a need for judges to decide his case. And it was not purely about democracy as Sparta itself was not democratic. You are even confusing me. In one sentence you are agreeing that some Greek city-states did not accept Macedonians as Greeks and they lived in the extreme north and in another sentence, you are saying it is a lie, there is no nuance and they are core Greeks. Finally, you have digressed from the initial point, which is that only a minority of Alexander's generals (Greek or non-Greek) practiced the act. My theory is that his father learnt it during his time as a hostage in Thebes and the son learnt from the father. Only a guess though. |

I remember saying most of the twitter posts then (at the time) by Ezra was shitposting as he was some type of Edgelord. I think its the same here and people are overreacting since it plays into the gender wars which has now become very pervasive. Anyway, I do think there are certain celebs or people whose opinion on issues shouldnt even be deliberated or considered and Simi is one of them. She's the typical dumb girl with a sonorous voice, So I wonder what the fuss is about. I dont even understand why people are taking her performative nonsense seriously |

abduleez1:I know a few and I sometimes feel sorry for them and the way they have to grow up, Less human interaction, less coping skills with real world issues, more sensitive When we grew up it was rough and you had to develop a thick skin, I remember in secondary school when we will just sit under a tree and start Yabbng aka "messing" ourselves. We that were somehow protected from home had to develop thick skin quickly, There were people who would just pick on you to beat up because you looked like "Agric" so you would quickly form alignment with other strong guys By mid teens the challenge was talking to girls, so you would brace yourself up and go toast a girl on the street, 80% will yab you, your guys will laugh at you and move on. It was all fun and something we still reminisce upon. One of our mates who is now a pastor wrote a love letter to a girl when we were in JS2 or JS3, The entire girls hostel read the letter, The following morning that was how like 30 girls came to fight the guy for daring to toast their friend. On our whatsapp chat we still laugh at them till today Then the Interhouse sports, the miming competitions, the LIT, the Drama club/week, The press club and bugging people, writing stories about people. That is how we knew about another guy who dey wet bed in another hostel In The US there is a study that GenZ have poorer human relations, they talk less to each other, they are all on the phone, even asking on a date is through phone apps, Most have never spoken to a girl 1v1 before. They still have the hormonal desire but not the "liver to make it happen The girls too want guys who will talk t them but the guys are not like that anymore. Its simply swipe right and next 3 messages ask for nudes Also they are having less sex than any generations less. This is breeding more redpillers and more feminazis who dont know how to relate with each other and opposite sex then think Andrew Tate is the model man or some bitter female is the model female Atimes I am almost like guy sneak out, go to parties, take your dads car, go try to impress a girl, get laid just live a normal 22yr old life |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Kimbeast: 4:51pm On Feb 22 |
raumdeuter:You are trying to frame this as entirely negative when it isn’t. What you call “developing thick skin” often just excuses and normalizes bullying in schools. Gen Z are actually doing a better job than previous generations at calling out bullying and stopping it when it happens plus they are also more sympathetic and tolerant. They also drink less alcohol and smoke fewer cigarettes than older generations. On top of that, they’re not rushing into marriage or getting married at very young ages, when their brains aren’t even fully developed yet. They are also inventing more and pushing technological advancements faster than previous generations. Like every generation, there are pros and cons. |
