Theflnt1 same thing I said, without her music talent will you regard her opinion on any topic?
Why not though? Simply because she's a musician? She's educated, a CU grad, and seems smart enough. If we wan raise standard of who go get valuable opinion above someone like Simi, social media for Nigeria go almost empty.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by AnfieldFan: 5:20pm On Feb 22
The whole Simi debacle is incredibly blown out of proportion...
I will admit I know nothing of Simi's past tweets or stance on issues like this, but judging from what she said regarding this issue at first, I do not think she said anything particularly offensive, seems X peeps already wanted to go in on her and this situation turned out to be the perfect reason...

Bringing up false accusations when someone says they have been sexually assaulted to me is an unnecessary red herring(Vice versa ), there has to be room for both sides to present their case without X mobs lynching either person..

Simi will be fine, Adekunle will be fine too. X people will move on to something else sooner rather than later....

If this was a male celebrity posting this will you dismiss
Ezra is not a celebrity and If I recall I dismissed all his posts as edge lord shit posting.

You got your counter question wrong - you should have said if it was Charlie kirk or dry ass p, say shapiro would you dismiss

We all don see small cute pikin do this and more
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 5:22pm On Feb 22
How old was Simi in 2012?

Real life is not curated specially for you
You will meet all sorts of people in the course of life and you need to be equipped to deal with it

What happens when you grow and suddenly meet bullies in real life ?
No one said real life is perfect, but that doesn’t excuse allowing or even praising bullying among teenagers like it’s some kind of life training. It isn’t. Bullying isn’t character building, and it shouldn’t be normalised or defended.

If the best example of how “good” older generations supposedly had it is celebrating bullying then that’s not a positive, it was part of the problem.

Her posts on rape were out of left field imho

What women are Typically subjected to in public is sexual harassment

Outside of robbery attacks Actual rape is usually someone you know

As to being attacked in public in Lagos men and women share the same fear, being robbed. a person robbing you in traffic or the street has no time for sex, as public robbery is already high risk and you want to get away as fast as possible.

This was also what I thought and I was asking someone here if I had missed anything but sportsweb said I should not ask questions. I should just join the herd mentality and start insulting simi. Dey one to turn this thread to a herd mentality where one can't say anything that goes against the general opinion. Sit down look mode activated.

I understand, but having a wrong opinion on this issue doesn't mean she'd have a bad opinion on all issues where deductive thinking is required.

You will meet bullies no matter what and like predators bullies are good at identifying and isolating the weak.

Bullies are part of life just like failure disappointment rejection

There is no environment where you won't face it. Part of character building is being prepared for it

If you have ever seen the consequences of bullying in teenagers you won't be typing this. It's just excusing crimes because criminals will always exist.

The fact they think it's affecting or hurting her is amusing me. She likely doesn't even see whatever they are posting and she nor get company to destroy grin
Not when she is already deleting some.

Even Adekunle Gold deleted one of his that was dug out.

They are both online and seeing everything.

What is happening behind close doors is what anyone can't say.

But I can tell that she has some regrets even though she is trying to act strong

"Bullying is not part of life"
– Kimberly.

Again, Europe trying to have a rational discussion with an extremist Iran.

You all keep thinking you can reason with an irrational being, then you'll be at it for a long time.

You are missing the point. There are bullies out there. If you have little exposure and therfore little resilience, you are a prime target for them. This can be in school, in the workplace, any where. Sometimes I have seen that people who I would not expect are bullies when they meet someone they think will not push back

No bro, X is different from this thread... Everyone can air their opinion here.. Contribute and say what you feel, one way or the other, someone will appreciate or learn from it...

If it was anyone that said that I wont dismiss, Ezra was not very specific about anyone. Simi was kind of alluding to kids in her mom's daycare.

So should parents who used and still use her mom's daycare be worried?

Yes most people will experience it at some point in their life. But that doesn't make it acceptable or normal. It does not help anyone become stronger from everything I’ve heard of people’s experiences. Especially bullying in school seems to have a long lasting negative impact on the person. Maybe because it’s at a critical stage in life but it always causes issues. You are trying to twist it as positive when it's not.

It is not about regret. It is about the wrong sponsor seeing the tweets after they have been blown out of proportion. Oyibos take anything child abuse very seriously. So even if she is joking or kidding one sponsor can take it in bad taste.

Before it happened to Ezra, it happened to James Gunn.

I didn't realize her mum had a daycare. I thought it was just a random encounter with a friends or kid brother. You are all watching a movie and the child starts disturbing you. In that context, where for all intents and purposes you are partly in charge of several toddlers, that is very bad taste.

I get the general point you are making. Yes the world is filled with assholes but bullying in teenagers have no positive effect or benefits. Infact people do commit suicide and have life lasting PTSD from bullying when young. Dayo was trying to paint it as some sort of positive In life when it's not.

User09:
I remember saying most of the twitter posts then (at the time) by Ezra was shitposting as he was some type of Edgelord.

I think its the same here and people are overreacting since it plays into the gender wars which has now become very pervasive.

Anyway, I do think there are certain celebs or people whose opinion on issues shouldnt even be deliberated or considered and Simi is one of them. She's the typical dumb girl with a sonorous voice, So I wonder what the fuss is about. I dont even understand why people are taking her performative nonsense seriously
In a war, every weapon against your enemies matters, whether performative or real.

But reality is that when a word is said numerous times, it becomes intent, which would most likely occur when the right atmosphere presents it self.

Performative is a weak way of excusing wrong doing and creating injustice in a society.

It is mostly in this country these type of things are overlooked.

Is rejection, failure disappointment and all negatives acceptable? Bullying doesnt have to be normal or acceptable. The reality of life is that you will meet with unacceptable and abnormal situations in life as you go.

How much of an effect they have on you might depend on how you have prepared yourself for it

Failure makes people commit suicide and have PTSD same with disappointment rejections etc

So does that mean you wont experience this in life? And when you do, how will you handle it

and it is currently all rose and merry,

Right from her past tweets.

She mentioned it here.

With Ezra he sounded like he was fantasying and there was no victim. Simi seemed to be talking about specific children

She practically demonstrated her deductive thinking and it showed she has no brilliance in that matter.

Infact, most women don't because they are always all emotions even when they hold the highest education level.

Simi is not the first to have demonstrated this, and she definitely won't be the last.

Can you explain what positive outcome bullying has for a child who loses their self esteem and goes on to suffer severe PTSD into adulthood?
There is extensive research showing the long term psychological harm bullying causes to children and how it negatively affects them later in life. If you are aware of any credible studies demonstrating that bullying has a positive impact on teenagers please provide the links.

Failure is not the same thing as bullying at all. Trying to draw a parallel between the two is irritating and dishonest. Failure can be a learning experience, bullying is deliberate harm. You are trying to praise bad behavior instead of addressing and stamping it out.
