Honestly I feel for folks on remittance. This business favours u if u don't have that kinda pressure. But once that pressure they u go miscalculate do rubbish trip just to meet up cry

If 4k is the price to drive from Allen to Shomolu, then I am better off investing in Keke. Even a northerner driving keke at opebi won’t take that price to shomolu.
...
Omo investing in keke is actually better, fairly used keke less than 2m wey you put for road can easily give you 8k-12k daily around 48k- 72k weekly, while naija used camry or corolla wey you buy 4m-5m, weekly rental of 60k-70k na war omo cool

Until it’s time to fix car issue and they realize that the savings from those rubbish prices can’t fix their car and they come online to look for loan.

Some people are destined to be poor.
Honestly accepting dose prices for me is same as not valuing your self worth. Cause how do u even feel after accepting a ridiculous price. I mean how do u feel wen d rider enters d car. Do u gist with Dem? Or do u just bone face cause I'm wondering how d atmosphere will be like. Omoh iz well ooo

I was parked at Maryland, a bus stop after North Western filling station just now when a Mitsubishi SUV pulled up next to me and the driver was like, Oboy, InDrive wan kill person. I was shocked...first of all how did this man know I am an Ehailing guy, and how did he know I mostly use InDrive shocked

He parked properly and came to gist me how he carried someone from Ota to Jibowu Yaba, and that since 10am, he has been under Jibowu Bridge looking for good ride, but nothing. He had to drive down empty to Maryland just now (1:30pm). He was saying isnt there somewhere we can complain to with all the rubbish rides these ehailing companies are throwing our way.
Hahahaha most times seeing a car parked at bus stops or just parked on d road with a lone driver reclined looking at his fone. grin grin. Na Uber driver be dat worse wen his in a Corolla big daddy muscle Suzuki etc. grin grin.

U were shockitalized make e no be say village people dey monitor u. Hahahahahaha

I mostly look at Uber net and not gross. This is because Uber uses the next driver to collect unresolved payment like cancellation fee. Unfortunately, they don't indicate this for the driver thus making the driver get angry on how much they're collecting vs how much they're getting as net.

I once booked a ride and cancelled and Uber charged me 2600 cancellation fee. I paid it with the next driver.

I have been complaining that my car consumes more fuel because I use 15k fuel to net 45 to 50k before now.

But right now, I use 15 to 18k fuel to net just 35k.

The problem we have in this business right now are those drivers that use smaller engine cars. Those Suzuki, Yaris, etc.

I was at Yaba and was surprised the ridiculous prices drivers were accepting. So I decided to put out a request to see if someone would accept.

To my surprise, a driver was willing to drive from Montgomery road to Maryland mall for 2800. Now that Indrive commission has gone up, what that means is that he's willing to earn 2400 for such trip.

Some drivers are just impossible. Unfortunately, we don't have control over who accepts what. You either join them in accepting the ridiculous prices or change hustle... That's the reality.

Insisting on getting a ride with a good price will mean staying at a place for too long which will cause you more back pain and tiredness, plus the heat under the sun.

I've noticed that staying in the car for long without driving is even more painful than driving around.

Hmmmm. No wonder when I pick riders they always get another impression of ehailing by seeing me and a lot say it with their mouths. Apart from d car the carriage and self worth. U then find out it's the riders that actually want to engage you in convos

One told me one time a driver tried speaking with her on a trip but the smell of the car( she sensed he sleeps in car) and his mouth breath put out her off. She was telling me another driver this.

Mehn dey fall hand honestly. Same last week on a PU trip at Neca house one run down Toyota avensis was at the access point like me. Na so baba just start dey reverse jam into my RAV4 wey I JUST lunch ooo. Crack small d follow come front bumper I dey manage. Wen he came down on sighting him I knew his ehailing driver. Dirty jeans unkempt beard black drappy dirty shirt. cry cry. I just para small free am. Tell am to relax as I'm a fellow driver like em. E no beleive am.

Bro u have to maintain ur self worth else riders will demoralize u. Every rider sud enter ur car and feel like dey just enter Sheraton reception for business not some slum cause it will greatly affect how dey treat u.

I picked her up from one dark road around Olowu in Ikeja, and then she asked me to make a detour that she wants to buy something. The girl was young...probably like 21 or 22, and dressed like a tomboy. She wasnt the regular kind of girls i pick up at that time of the night, Omo...na so we make a few turns and ended up in one weed spot with many rough looking guys outside (mostly junkies). When she went to get the stuff, I thought it was a set up cos she took too long to come out and the guys were looking at my car. Then one of the guys approached me and tried to forcefully open the door. I wound down and asked why he was struggling with my door. I later found out he was a junkie that was very hungry. I gave him Gala and he left.

When the girl came out, he grabbed her by the arm and they spoke briefly. The girl later told me the guy used to be her guy, and was doing very well till he got hooked on drugs. We gisted throughout the journey from ikeja to ikotun, and it felt I was gisting with a younger sister at some point. And then when we got to the drop off spot, which happened to be a hotel, the guy she was going to meet came out...and before she dropped, she said in a low voice, "pray for me, this is my first time doing this." The whole encounter was just really weird.
Hmm the last lines, I guess it’s her first time and she just got her self into doing HK

My little experience with E hailing has also enable me to meet ppl have meaningful conversations across different aspect of life… the struggles , the victories, marriage etc some ppl stories can be motivational I met a man in December picked him from the airport and we just vibed, spoke well on business and his life journey how he ended up in Europe doing petty job,,, listened to a sermon one day that a preacher said God will bless the work of your hands and he translated that as he needed to start something for himself he stopped the job… was looking for money to start doing printing business wanted to buy one single machine to start… he ended up not having the money to buy one… on the journey of looking cheaper alternatives of machines he stumbled on a company that was shutting down they went bankrupt and wanted to sell their machines
That was his breakthrough point, the initial price of machine he wanted to buy was about 4k euro +
and then he found this company selling for a little above half the price that’s how he had to apply for loan took 15k loan from his bank

He said he bought the printing machines with the loaned money sent them to Nigeria and resold them all. made enough profit he paid back the loaned money repeated the process again and again.

The interesting part that got me was when the man said he was doing his masters and he said that was his 3rd masters degree and I’m like why is he doing all the studying and why didn’t he further in one discipline like maybe have a PhD and It was my first time of seeing some having 3 masters degree so I asked what was his motivation towards acquiring further masters degree. He said he needs to level up
He was not deep into buying and reselling again and the field is not as lucrative to him again I guess
So his last degree was masters in nursing as a psychologist. He tipped me 10k at the end of the trip.

They are so many Interesting stories honestly, Some days ago I was even thinking of maybe writing a book of my encounter with certain categories of people you get met with different views, you can also learn well from other peoples life stories, view points and perceptions to things etc

I get joy rejecting those kinds of rides. I can sometimes stay 1 hour in my car till I get a good ride, but I don't mind. Some will keep sending the same offer, and I keep rejecting.
