According to reports circulating online, the victim sold a piece of land for N500,000 and provided an access road through his property for community use. His elder brother, who is 14 years older, demanded N300,000 from the proceeds, claiming entitlement to a larger share. The younger brother reportedly gave him N100,000 to settle the matter, but this was deemed insufficient, leading to the violent confrontation.

Eyewitness accounts and social media posts describe the elder sibling ambushing the couple and dousing them with acid, causing severe injuries. The perpetrator is currently on the run, with local authorities reportedly launching a manhunt. The victims are receiving medical treatment, though details on their condition remain unconfirmed at this time.
