Very very deep indeed.

Were they really abandoned?

How do you know they've willingly accepted to be identify as Igbo.

Although I know many Igbo communities in Rivers state that are afraid of accepting their identity out of fear of segregation and marginalisation.
All these SW people and their ign0rànt takes on places they've never been to and probably never will. Etche are and have always been Igbo people, at no time did they deny their igbonnes.

Stop spreading lies
Oga igbanke is pure Igbo. It wasn't even long ago that the oba in Benin was having problems with them because they didn't recognise his authority in igbanke because they are Igbo and not Edo.

All he knows knows is how he to rig election and then proceed to capture the treasury of rivers state by fighting the governor and turning rivers state people to his slaves.

It was their LGA chairman who actually facilitated it.He visited Abia Gov. and intimated him of the plight of that community and worked tirelessly to ensure it came to fruition.

Aba Power Limited Electric (APLE),the Aba Integrated Power Project (Aba IPP) in Nigeria, is owned by the Geometric Power Group, founded by Professor Bart Nnaji, a former Nigerian Minister of Power. It is a private company designed to provide reliable, independent electricity to the Aba industrial area.
Key details about the ownership and project:
Founder: Prof. Bart Nnaji established Geometric Power to address power shortages in Aba.
Project Structure: Aba Power Limited is a special purpose vehicle of the Geometric Power Group.
Capacity: The plant is a $800 million investment capable of generating 141 megawatts.
Operations: It is the first integrated power utility in Nigeria, handling both generation and distribution independently of the national grid for nine local government areas in Abia State.
Financing: Afreximbank provided significant financial support, including a $50 million loan for the project.thos information is to clear the fake news about Aba power company. Abia state government has no penny in it. It is 100% private individual company. Bat Nnaji from Enugu state owns the generation and distribution of electricity. Alex otti cannot give order on what he has no control. Supply the community electricity is an increase in the revenue of the owner not Abia state.

Ezeama400:
There should be a boundary adjustment to allow every ethnic group to decide where they want to stay.. Enough of this nonsense..

Why would someone stay without electricity for 20 years, yet we keep preaching unity that does not exist..?

This similar issue happened few years ago where Okowa had to go to Edo state to grade road for Igbanke people of Edo state.. Edo state government neglected them for years because they have refused to change their identity, until Okowa had to do the needful..

A governor of a state should be a governor for all, irrespective of their beliefs and ethnicity, not a governor of only particular group of people.
Re: Celebration In Etche, Rivers As Aba Power Connects Them To Power by Ekpeitit(m): 4:58am On Feb 24
You're right, there should be boundaries and a big fence in every state and region. I'm sick of people coming to Lagos for a better life, everyone should live in their state.

Flangelo12:
As of February 2026, the administration of President Bola Tinubu is actively working on expanding electricity infrastructure to rural and underserved communities through initiatives like the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and partnerships with new power distribution companies.

Here are the key developments regarding community electricity under the Tinubu administration:

Etche Communities, Rivers State: In February 2026, Aba Power (a subsidiary of Geometric Power) extended electricity supply to several communities in the Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, which reports indicate had been without electricity for over a decade.

Abuja Solar Project: The Federal Government recently inaugurated a one-megawatt solar mini-grid to supply electricity to the Rubochi and IQuA communities in Abuja, benefiting approximately 4,000 households, businesses, and schools.
Rural Electrification Focus: The government is focusing on solar mini-grids and solar home systems to improve access for communities not connected to the national grid, as part of the broader national energy strategy.

General Strategy: President Tinubu has signed the Electricity Act Amendment Bill (2024), which allows states, companies, and individuals to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity, aiming to decentralize the power sector and enhance supply to local areas.
I'm only responding because I wanted you to know I read your response. By the way, this has nothing to do with the supposedly signed electricity whatever. Please, go and read more about it.

That man Otti is really proving a lot as the Governor of Abia state... I suspect he might be nominated as a running mate (V.P. Candidate) to any of the top Political Parties presidential flag bearers of he's ready to decamp.
