madridguy:Inflation is the killer. Said it a thousand times. You cannot successfully run an economy with double digit inflation. It is what is making all government intervention go up in smoke. Like pouring water on hot coals. This is the issue all serious governments of the world take on a war footing. They strive to cool down the economy by RIGHT spending. Spending ONLY on the factors of PRODUCTION, the critical things that matter. Look at the human body. When you experience trauma such as serious blood loss the brain immediately constricts blood from the extremities and less important organs one by one until the brain itself is overwhelmed. But as long as government continues to waste on irrelevant issues and things the cost of living and doing business will continue to remain high and recovery on the streets a mirage. |

This is just the beginning by next year after the election una go hear from APC. All forms of taxes will be rolling out because they have to discover the money they spent during election. Those that want power to be in the hands of these politicians should not complain. |

It's tough to see prices going up again, but the rising costs for spare parts and maintenance are clearly hitting the transport sector hard. |
| Re: Lagos Approves 13% Fare Hike For BRT by omotayocaleb(m): 9:52am On Feb 24 |
Let's be honest, is there any justification for this increment? Since the last increamnet there has been a relatively stable price of every component of transporttation especially the dollar; even fuel is coming down, so what's the basis? It's just so sad. now election will come they will play price reduction for votes. |

| Re: Lagos Approves 13% Fare Hike For BRT by erniok2: 10:10am On Feb 24 |
helinues:This is not true and you know it. Last hike was 18% effective 17th feb, 2025. There has been no reduction till this current hike to take effect 2nd march, 2026. The challenge is that whenever BRT hikes their fare, danfo automatically does same and the riple effects spreads to everything. |

They bribe with #5k cash, 5kg of rice, garri and probably sugar to go with it to vote for them, after election, they will collect times #1000 of what they give out . |

| Re: Lagos Approves 13% Fare Hike For BRT by dfrost: 10:47am On Feb 24 |
helinues:Depending on the route, should be between ₦78 to ₦117 increase. That's an average of ₦98 per trip, approximately ₦4,116 per month on a 21 working days month average. Not much agreed. However, if the individual has not experienced any increase in salary, it can be major to that individual. Think about it. |

| Re: Lagos Approves 13% Fare Hike For BRT by OredoPikin2: 11:45am On Feb 24 |
iwaeda:If not traffic, what concern us with BRT Even normal bus is now cheaper or at the same rate But BRT will load people as if we are coming from refugee camp. 32 seats, they will now load over 40 as standing and collect same money as those sitting. Congesting the whole space and there is no AC Only God go safe us in this country |
| Re: Lagos Approves 13% Fare Hike For BRT by OredoPikin2: 11:54am On Feb 24 |
obonujoker:The reason people use BRT is not because they don't have car BRT has dedicated lanes that other cars or vehicles don't pass So to avoid spending 2hours in a normal road with your car to place you can just use BRT and it will be like 30mins That's the only advantage |
| Re: Lagos Approves 13% Fare Hike For BRT by OredoPikin2: 11:57am On Feb 24 |
omotayocaleb:Lolz Last election (local govt) they reduced Abulegba to Island to around 600 After election, they took it to 1k back 😂 Wicked people Just when normal buses were beginning to adjust their prices to meet that of BRT, boom, this came |
