1. I never wished to earn the title of oldest tenant, with rent increases the 3 tenants I met in the apartment have left, more tenants are in the process of leaving this year. My landlord had told me to prepare next year for a substantial increase (unlike previous rent hikes) . How do we cope with falling prices on uber fares... 2. The gospel truth is that app companies are only interested in their commissions, for them their is nothing like a bad commission, for us pilots, consistent bad fares is a slow poison that would eventually destroy the car we use and also our health. 3. I was driving a foreigner just last week, the first thing she said was to praise my ac system. She was seated at the back seat. In her words this is the first uber car she had entered with a functional ac. So I asked her how long she had been in Nigeria she said a week.. I wanted to engage her about the challenges ehailinge drivers are facing, but as a foreigner I felt no point. Before we got to her droo off point she pleaded for me to reduce the ac. Comfort comes at a price, but it seems the app companies wants us to provide some form of subsidies to passengers. 3. I wanted to join the gang I would not take any rubbish price from 10pm to 2am, at ICM waiting for a reasonable price, .l finally had to swallow my pride and took an order from obafem Awolowo to okota on indrive for N6100. The first thing the passenger asked was to put on A/C, with such a cool night breeze. How we drivers maintain our mental health is a miracle. The trip was not even Okota, she was actually going to Ago palace for N6.1k. Night driving should actually come with higher fares because of all the risks involved. 4. I sometimes tell my passengers if you want to enjoy maximum comfort try and order us on bolt instead of basic. Car maintenance is not cheap. 5. In this Ehailing biz, the Apex predators are the app companies passengers, police VIPs, etc. we drivers sadly are just fair game. 6. A job that has zero pension plans for drivers... yet demand drivers to sacrifice their physical well being for fares that are not commensurate to the occupational hazards from long hours of driving day in day out. 7. The conditions of most E-hailing cars is most worrisome, either the app companies work with leasing firms to come up with some sort of swap deals so that better and more fuel efficient cars can be injected into the system. 8. To those on weekly remittances you guys are the true MVP. |

Eazilyfe:you see car maintenance is one of the things that take huge chunk of the money we make unless you are not ready to put your car in the right shape. I wonder how someone will say driving your car for long hours every day does not have any effect on your car. Something wey be say you maintenance bills will go up and one thing is repairing cannot return the car to it original state. Changed all the shocks and did all the leg works still the car is making some squeaky sound now |

Been going to d mechanic week in week out .. I done tire . Noticed my gear oil was leaking sometime last year. Around august. Took it to a gear man. He said he need to drop d gear to confirm where d leakage is from. He charged 100k we negotiated 90k. He said if it was gear pump it will b 90k if it was just oil seal it will b 50k... Later he said it was both. So he fixed it d leakage stop. I know dat most gear people hardly buy any parts kus dey always have gear parts on their shops.... so I was certain he didn't buy any parts from d market. He just change it with a bad gear in his shop. Only for it to start again after 2 month.... Took it back to him and he told me no b him fault. Say na d parts wey him buy. Dat is his bring it back in January.. I was furious and left... Took it to anoda gear person kus d leakage was much.. I have worked with both gear mechs before. I showed him and he said na 150k last to fix. And said it will not leak giving me guarantee. I tried to bargain he said 150k last. This was December 25 or so. He fixed it and said I needed to buy oil which I no say na lie. I sent money and everytin was ready... Been using d car till now. Only to check under to see its leaking again.. send him images. Will have to take d car back to him. This my car done chop going to 500k since december... From evaporator to compressor to 4 coils, normal servicing, shock etc. I done tire. I can't even meet up d money I borrowed sef with this useless fair ehalling apps dey being out. My tire is tired |

| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Eazilyfe: 12:42pm On Feb 24 |
Kaymax2222:Any small leg repair u must run uncalculated Alignment except u wan risk your tyres. Then you fit wan change ball joint make u get other things that needs to be fixed. I just pick the most important and fix in order of potential breaking down on the road causing embarassment Yesterday when i loose exhaust and Catalyst, na me carry am ontop bike go car wash go blow am come back. Panel beater dey tell me make i buy new catalyst i tell am say Pressure washing go fix the restricted flow and drop in efficiency. So far i have been driving without check engine light. |

cyif2003:So where is the leakage actually coming from? They should show you, besides why will you just drop your car and go only to be guessing if they actually did the fixing or bought parts. |

| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by sunnymighty(m): 3:21pm On Feb 24 |
I had thought I had been the only one going through this frequent repairs. If you say your own too much you go still see another person and begin to thank God. The mechanic are actually one of the problems. |

TUBLEZ:😂😂😂My brother, i wan go do small leg work next week, becus say na eod, if na toyota, I no go even mind am, make riders enjoy small noise too, their papa! I ain't tot 100k to splurge on no damn legs so these people can enjoy a noiseless ride for 4k, abeg abeg |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Kumuyiii(m): 4:24pm On Feb 24 |
sunnymighty:Mechanic no be problem, na una wey no dey monitor them be problem, as i dey so, i be mechanic, rewire, ac man, everything in between, if you give me tools, I go run am.... I dey always follow them work, nothin like oga go sit down, if we finish we call you, i don't do that shi, i watch them all through and carry my old parts back. B4 i change shock, i gas am first, minimise cost where i can, if you follow mechanic/repairer mouth, your money go finish cus you change everything wey dem dey suggest.... One day, my steering was makin mad noise, first mechanic- ball joint, second mechanic-upper ball joint, 3rd mecho - steering rack!.... Bruh, I no even know when the noise stop, maybe when i dropped the shock or other repairs, it fixed itself, na so i for buy steering rack...... after i changed, my steering started makin noise, mechanic say steering pump don spoil... I ask chatgpt, he say air dey inside, i go mechanic, tell am to drain all the oil, comot hose wash am, did dry bleed, steering noise dissappear. Lesson here is... 1, chatgpt and deepseek(i prefer this one) is a better mechanic than 70% of them out there... If ure smart use them to ur advantage b4 them chop you out there.... Monitor ur work when they're fixing for you, you no be oga... With my agbada, i dey bend down dey watch them. 2, buy parts ur self, check price on jiji b4 pricing, if them bring 2 parts tell you say one na original, the other china, but price difference is only 2k, na wyning, take the cheap one, price am join. Know ur car, ur car will appreciate, and ur pocket as well. |
