*Assalaam Alaekum Wa Rrahmatullah Wa Barakatuh*

*RAMADHAAN TIPS FOR THE ELDERLY AND SENIOR CITIZENS*

(Culled from the
Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia).

● *During Sahur (Pre-Dawn meal)* Don't drink tea and coffee because these two drinks make your metabolism run fast so your thirst will not be hydrated quickly.

● It is recommended to take food that are slow to digest and high in fiber. For example *wheat, nuts, seeds, brown rice etc*

● *At Iftar (When breaking fast)* it is recommended to take *Water and Dates* because they contain sugar, fiber, carbohydrates, potassium and magnesium. The body's nutrients lost during fasting can slowly be filled by eating dates and drinking water.

● Eating *Bananas or other Fruits* when breaking fast is also very good for our bodies, because these fruits are sources of Potassium, Magnesium and Vitamins needed to replenish us.

● *Reduce fried foods when breaking fast* because fat cells will increase in the body. Senior citizens are more likely to suffer from diseases caused by accumulated fats such as heart disease, blocked blood vessels and high blood pressure.

● Take less food that is more quickly suppressed, such as *sugar.* because you feel thirsty quickly during fasting.

● *Drink lots of water or fruit juice between breaking fast and before going to bed.* The goal is so that the body contains more fluids and can carry out activities the next day smoothly and energetically.

● Don't drink *cool & splashy water* because it fills you up quickly. Where the nutritious food taken will decrease because it cannot enter the body.

The month of Ramadan arrives in a few days. Pease share this information with all Muslim friends, so that we stay healthy in worship.

Allahumma Baalighna Ramadhaan. May Allah make us reach Ramadan and accept our Ibaadah.

We Pray Allah to Continue to Guard and Guide us Aright Protect us Have Mercy on us Increase us in Knowledge Sustenance and Piety and Enable us become Better MUSLIMS, Better NIGERIANS.

Happy Jumaat Happy Weekend .

Who are your brethren?

Did the police or army arrest anyone and a Muslim organisation try to release them or even protest against their arrest?

Go and hold government responsible.

Y always avoiding responsibility? Russia and Ukraine war has nothing to do with faith and if you think otherwise, provide evidence. Can we say the same of all that is happening in Nigeria? All the terrorist organizations are of the same religion just like their colleagues around the world.
