What Hard Drugs Turned My Friend To. by Toolegit123(op): 6:14pm On Feb 24
Good day everyone.

Just as everyday come and go,I Just can't help it but keep thinking about how hard drugs has turned my friend to a complete junkie.

This dude was my primary school classmate and at a time ago we were even considered as best friends. Somehow along the way we got admissions into different higher institutions. At first during holidays when we returned home from our different schools,I used to noticed how strange he had become. Someone who used to be very robust suddenly emaciated and I knew it wasn't as a result of hunger because his family made sure he got everything he needed in school, unlike myself who signed MoU with sapa.

Fast forward to 2019,after graduation,it all got worse. And he made his smoking habit public to the extent that he smoked on the streets. That was when his elder siblings and I had to advise him, about the damages weed and other drugs he was taking were doing to him. But it all seemed every advice we were giving him were falling upon deaf ears.

What really broke our friendship was when he was trying to lure me into weed. That was when I started to avoid him. The adage which says --"Show me your friend and I shall tell you who you are" kept ringing in my head and tho I did everything to talk him through, out of that bad habit but he wasn't getting any of it.

Just last week, when I paid my dad a visit,I saw this dude, now looking so unkept and rolling with street urchins. I only waived him and went my way.

Please guys out there, let's say no to hard drugs because it doesn't have any good effects on the human body.

#SAYNOTODRUGS.

Re: What Hard Drugs Turned My Friend To. by nonny1212:
No matter the advise you give an addict he will never change until he comes to a POINT.

That point is where he realizes he is getting finished mentally and physically, then he will advise himself by himself.

Somehow, he will know ppl are avoiding him, good opportunities are avoiding him. Then he will decide to stop. Until he decides to stop, no amount of advise or family meeting can help.

Now the next step is to cut off all the source and dealers. It is difficult but he should try.

After that, the next immediate thing for him to do is to change his location or get a rehab if he can afford. A place where he cannot have access to those toxic substances.

The good news is the body heals. It will take months but within those months he should take good food, fruits and make water his best friend, water is the best for detox.

In 4 - 6months of abstinence, changes will show, dead brain cells will revive, organs will start reviving, his body will come out fresher.

Drug addiction is real. But the addict must come to himself to get help.

Re: What Hard Drugs Turned My Friend To. by nonny1212:
List of things I am sure will happen to you if you take those things I listed above..

1. It will wreck you financially. Because you will be craving for silly meals, junks and be eating like a glutton. You will barely save. Any new cash that drops into your account will spike up the craving. Money will consciously run away from you because it doesn't feel safe around you anymore. Deep down, you will notice this. And if you no chop, you go lean.

2. It will damage you mentally. You will start hallucinating, having panic attacks, imagining worst things. Your brain will start skipping, even during meaningful conversations, you will easily forget things. Memory loss(starts little by little).

3. Your hygiene will be nothing to write home about. You will always be looking unkept. Your damaged brain will keep telling you, you look fly. Thats why most of them keep and abuse dreads when influenced by drugs.

4. You will develop mouth odour due to different chemicals used in making those substances. Not your regular mouth odor oo, those ones that comes from the throat, smells very bad.

5. It will affect your social life, people will start avoiding you. You go begin dey wonder. You wont be able to socialize/connect with normal people, only your fellow junkies that vibe on your frequency.

6. You will start selling you properties to satisfy your cravings. Once you sell, you remit to your dealer Asap. Very bad stuff.

7. Chronic Insomnia, you will depend on these substances to stabilize you for sleep. It will break your sleep cycle, you keep waking up every 2 hrs at night just to have a puff.

8. It will turn you to a begger, a shameless begger o. You will beg for pennies just to satisfy the cravings. If you get to this begging point, e don dey spoil.

Drug addiction is not good for anyone. No benefit.

It's a pity. Hard drugs are evil.
Re: What Hard Drugs Turned My Friend To. by DissTroy(m): 7:34am On Feb 27
One of the best decisions I took as a pre-teen was resolving never to experiment with alcohol, drugs, and smoking.

In my late teens and early 20s, it got me jeers and sneers but I shrugged it off. Later was the "Pastor" tag even though those who termed me so were more religious than I will ever be.

Good health and the fear of addiction are good deterrence.

I still do not crave experimenting with any of these substances. Not once.

Pastor Adefarasin of House on The Rock Church had that trajectory and his life is completely free of drug addiction. He is successful by every standard of measuring success.

It's not how it was written, it's the message it conveys.

Read the unrevised book "the magic story". The grammatic style will drive you nuts but keep at it and extract the golden message.

Who still remember the dude who created a thread here about himself battling drug abuse with a very nasty and graphic wound in his hand as a result of constant needle prick? I really wanted to check up on him here last week to see if he's still around and getting well but can't remember his username.

Drug consumption is a response to a psychological disorder; the same weed has saved so many souls from depression and terminal illness. The weed industry in some countries generates more revenue than the economy of entire nations. Like every other activity moderation is the key, would you say food is bad because some ate himself to constipation or death, another drank himself to death.
You get to use your head, know thyself
I dey wrap cana, no mean say you not go drink ya maltina
one man dey smoke half joint another one dey smoke bag
Say NO to DRUG ABUSE
Re: What Hard Drugs Turned My Friend To. by Flesh10: 7:52am On Feb 27
You did the right thing by cutting off the friendship.

I had a childhood friend like that too. We lived in the same compound, grew up together and were considered siblings.

Though he was always hot headed growing up but we were fine.

We grew up in a ghetto in Ajegunle where at a young age we watched bros smoke weed and even send us to buy weed for them. It was normal at the time but growing up I think that experience changed us in different ways.

Some of our friends took to alcohol, cultism and drugs. About 3 became mentally unstable and we stayed far from them

Then in 2010 during the rise of night clubs and lounge in the area, I noticed that this friend of mine started frequenting them and even visiting local brothels. I wasn't the type that goes and stay out late at night so I wasn't going with him.

Fast forward to 2011 dude was already drunk. Taking huge number of alcohol on a daily then in 2012 cross over he started his smoking habits. That was when I decided to give him space.

Fast forward to 2018 our worlds and reality changed. I left the area and when I returned I met a different person entirely.

Joined cult gangs, always partying, drinking and smoking. Even on social media all he does is to talk about sex and tag me to it.

The one that broke the camel's back was when he started making statements that sounded like envy... Statements like " you will have money you will not bring it for us to go and flex it", " mugu drink, no dey do like Jesus" then knowing fully well I just got married he said "mugu this your wife go sweet o"

At that point I knew our worlds and reality has changed. It was no longer healthy for me to be around such person anymore. So my rent was still reading, infact I recently renewed the rent but I had to pack out of that environment entirely, changed my SIM, deactivated my socials and cut off every form of communication with him.

Since 2019 till date I haven't seen or heard from him and it's cool with me
