Adamawa Speaker, 14 Lawmakers Dump PDP by InfoGuru118(op): 2:31pm On Feb 25
Fresh political tremors have hit Adamawa State as the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Wesley Bathiya, has led 14 other lawmakers to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), deepening speculations over Governor Umaru Fintiri’s imminent defection.

The mass resignation comes amid mounting reports that Governor Fintiri is finalising plans to leave the PDP for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in what observers describe as a strategic realignment ahead of 2027.

The coordinated move by the Speaker and the lawmakers signals what insiders say is a pre-emptive consolidation of political structures to smoothen the governor’s anticipated transition.

Last week, SaharaReporters exclusively reported that the APC had shelved its planned state congresses in Adamawa to accommodate Governor Fintiri and his political structure.

The move was widely interpreted as a concession to ease his entry into the ruling party without internal resistance.

The shelving of the congresses had sparked murmurs within APC ranks, with party loyalists questioning whether internal democratic processes were being sacrificed to pave the way for a high-profile defection.

With the Speaker and a majority bloc in the 25-member House now formally cutting ties with the PDP, the balance of power in the Assembly appears to have tilted decisively.

Following the latest resignations, the House is effectively now an APC-dominated chamber.

Only the member representing Lamurde Constituency, Build Bauna is yet to be clearly accounted for in the unfolding political shift.

The lawmaker was neither heard from nor visibly recorded during plenary proceedings where the mass resignations were announced, raising questions about his political stance amid the sweeping defections.

Political watchers say the development amounts to a near-total collapse of the PDP structure within the State Assembly, reinforcing signals that the governor’s anticipated move may be all but sealed.

Attempts to get official confirmation from the governor’s camp were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

However, sources within both camps insist the unfolding events are part of a carefully coordinated political recalibration that could redefine Adamawa’s power dynamics in the months ahead.

The Northerners are preparing for 2031 election. They would rather wait for 4 years and support the reelection of president Tinubu and use straight 8 years than spend 4 years and then wait another 8 years

The politics that’s playing out now is about 2031. As you can see, they’ve been checkmating themselves..

2031 will be very interesting… I doubt even Tinubu will be able to put mouth for the 2031 matter..

Victory for democracy and rule of law .The North has conceded 2027 to Jagaban, waiting for 2031
Re: Adamawa Speaker, 14 Lawmakers Dump PDP by Richtaiwo(m):
Ha! What a season of political heartbreak.

Was it not just about two weeks ago that Atiku’s son politely packed his bags and took a one-way loyalty flight straight to Tinubu’s camp?

Before the dust could even settle, the state politicians from Atiku’s state have now waved goodbye to the PDP and are already ironing their agbada in preparation to join Tinubu’s party.

Yet, here we are, Atiku and Pitobi dreaming of ruling Nigeria when even their political households are staging silent rebellions.

The PDP G5 have successfully dealt a heavy blow to the party. Though it is not yet completely buried, thank God the G5 themselves are no longer on the best of terms. All thanks to the brilliant maneuvering from the President, the political genius at work. But seriously, if I were Waziri, I would consider stepping down for PO, at least for the sake of the new platform, the ADC, and to give the new party a stronger footing. Sometimes personal ambitions must give way to strategic moves for the greater political good. This is exactly the kind of moment where vision matters more than titles.

Dump PDP for APC right? Not like APC is any better?
Metaphorically, Nigeria is down a gory hole of despair that leads to a complete dearth!
Re: Adamawa Speaker, 14 Lawmakers Dump PDP by PigTormentor: 2:55pm On Feb 25
Why are all these people moving to APC.
We need a strong opposition, we don't need everyone to be in one party. It's not good for our democracy. Too much power can make any power drunk. Trump is a good example.

Your last statement, when I said Apc might collapse before the 2027 election, some people don't understand. South West would be more interested in regional party than national party. Anyone that needs out help should reach our, our stake is for the highest bidder of protecting our interest

Yes I agree with you and those of south for possible VP position especially from South-East and South-South. Establishing themselves ahead of time.

It will take a special miracle for opposition to grab power come 2027 because divine Providence is favouring ruling party and Tinubu re-election. These gale of defections in more than inducement but special favour.

30 + states in the bag. It's lord doing.

By now Atiku should understand it's game over for him.

Imagine, last time it's his son, now it's his state politician abandoning him.

Charity in this case is not beginning at home.

This is a disgrace to Atiku.

He can't hold his party together particularly in his state.

South South are already positioning themselves for the VP position from 2031 beyond. That's why they are dragging Pdp with the Northerners.. Wike is reserving Pdp to negotiate VP position for South , not necessarily to be him

Peter Obi's little popularity in North already shrinked with the way his supporters want Trump to come and bomb north because of their Christian persecution narration

There are consequences for every action

Vp is going to SE and I will prefer bianca ojukwu. Give it to her and I can bet Apc will gain better followership in SE.

What should be of greater concern to Nigerians who are not part of Lagbaja's 200 million mumus, who forever wonder who cursed us?

People from the north will be begging him to annoint a candidate for them. Na Tinubu you dey take dey joke? There's no limit for a man who can offer you anything to get what he wants. Tinubu's performance will be so obvious in the second term that our foreign reserves will be near $100b and naira strengthen to $1 at #400. Quote me.
The only issue is security because so many people are profiting from it.
