Person dey owe that amount of money for 12 whole years ? What kind of businesswoman ties that huge amount of money down as debt owed to her business? |

BlueRayDick:People know that if their politician enters they can make their investment back 10 fold as long as the guy remains loyal. No be wetin happen between adedibu and ladoja as well as ngige and Chris uba? By now she should have had a contract to put buka on the road for the calabar expressway site workers. Or maybe supply sand or something. See as Umahi mouth was closed even as sowore was calling him out. Umahi no try at all to let the situation deteriorate to a public scene. Next You will likely see the woman on TV with rufai oseni. Na the kind thing ruffy like be that. |

If you followed the news over the years, and understood our trajectory, you would understand the frustration, anger and hysteria over this US-Nigeria deal, nay colonisation 2.0 being brought on us. In 2014, the US Government under President Obama blocked Nigeria from Nigeria from purchasing Cobra-Attack helicopters, that would have been used to fight Boko Haram. They cited the Leahy Law, and insisted Nigeria was committing human rights abuses in its fight against Boko Haram and was responsible for victimising Boko Haram suspects. The then DMI Chief, Rear Admiral Gabriel Okoi, said the application of that law was hindering cooperation and ability to fight Boko Haram. Late President Buhari pointedly said in 2015, that the application of the Leahy Law aided and abetted Boko Haram. In 2018, Buhari committed what should have been an impeachable offence, drawing down the Excess Crude Account, to purchase US ammunition and equipment and then went to National Assembly for retroactive approval. Buhari in his defence said, US gave a deadline for payment. And yet, after payment that depleted our reserves and contributed to our exchange rate sliding down, the US Government stalled on release of those weapons, even including us into Country if Particular Concern in 2020. Nigeria didn't get approval to release those attack helicopters until 2021. That is, after initially blocking us from buying weapons and ammunition, in the first place, they later approved, allowed us draw down our external reserves and then stalled on delivery. Even when we had ongoing security challenges that kept getting bigger and bigger. The Americans ran Buhari proper street. Perhaps, many don't know, even after eventually releasing the Tucano fighter aircraft to Nigeria, the US placed geopgraphic restrictions on its use. It restricted it to North-East, to fight Boko Haram and ISWAP, and initially disallowed its use in North-West, even when banditry festered. This caused a contention when Nigeria tried to expand its use, to the North-West when banditry emerged. So, after over 10 years of these games, we should get bludgeoned by a false Christian genocide propaganda fuelled by the same US that actively held our hands from fighting Boko Haram in the first place. And furthermore, we should disengage from Russia military hardware, even when a vast stockpile of our weaponry has Soviet Union imprint. Let's now get into our dark this goes. Faced with prospect of cancelled elections, if a section of Nigeria was unable to vote, the GEJ government in late 2014/2015 brought in STEPP, the South African mercenaries. Karounwi Adini |

GloriousGbola:Executing campaign contract for a politician is different from placing your bet on a politician hoping to reap 10 folds na. A contractor is a business person who should at least have collected majority of the contract sum from politician before anything. What if the politician ends up losing the election ? What happens to your capital already tied down ? There's something definitely not right with this woman and Umahi's matter. I have come in contact with at least 2 people that have done souvenir sourcing for politicians in the past and to the best of knowledge they collected fee for their service that same campaign season, not hoping the politician will win and he will reward them in 100 folds. |

afrodoc2:N250 million. If he's owing her that much, I'm assuming that's like the major part of the contract sum. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:22pm On Feb 26 |
GloriousGbola:Now u are getting my angle. If there's nothing between them from the onset, I don't see how she would've had a whole N250m tied down for contract she already delivered 12 years ago. He entered into the contract with her as a normal citizen o and not as a governor or official of the government. Even government no dey owe contractors up to 12 years before dem go raise alarm. |

GloriousGbola:Lol. This your "Simi is an entertainer, not a thought leader" defence of Simi is funny. So because Simi is an entertainer, she's not supposed to have personal convictions or opinions on societal issues? So she should only sing, collect streams, pose on red carpets, collect awards and shut up about everything else? Make I even ask sef, who is a thought leader and what qualifies a person to be one? Is it by educational qualification? Is it an academician, a pastor. an imam or a newspaper columnist? Your Snoop example sef no hold water. If you don't follow his takes. millions of others do. Also, why you dey try use Davido eff up to muddy the waters and shield Simi? Egbon, na big 2026 we dey and influence no be by qualification. Simi with her large following and audience, is a thought leader and opinion shaper, so she's expected to be circumspect and disciplined with her words, not drop hot takes and incendiary comments that stoke gender wars. I encounter people have takes that take the piss and the simple thing to do is block or mute. i have been blocked and muted on the same twitter in the past. You will never encounter only people who agree with you and you will encounter people whose takes annoy you. some people can be reasoned with, some cannot, and some are deliberately obtuse. we have different arguments here about tinubu and APC. so if i double down and say Tinubu is the best president nigeria has ever had people should go all out on an online assault on my person?then again, we have seen some people maliciously rejoicing in larri-des misfortunes. If blocking works for you, fine. Na your OWN coping mechanism and cup of tea be that. It's not for everyone. Some will ignore, some will respond. There's no general prescription or rule book on how to behave on social media. On SM, there'll always be people with annoying takes. But when a take is made by a popular person with a huge platform and maligns a specific people, expect push back even from the sensible ones amongst them. Again, your Tinubu example is apples and oranges. Saying BAT is the best president Nigeria has ever had is a political opinion about governance. You dey rate performance. People will argue with data, hardship, exchange rate, fuel price, security and other metrics. Simi's situation is different. It touches on gender, crime and morality. It's about how men are perceived and hits people at a personal level so naturally, the temperature will be higher. The emotional stakes are also not the same because Simi's tweet strikes at people's dignity and lived experiences. So your comparison of PBAT praise and the reaction to Simi's grape outburst misses the point and is not balanced. What they are trying to do is bully a person who does not share their views into silence. create an environment where their own view is law and the only view that can be voiced. That is how you create an echo chamber. Today it is Simi, tomorrow it could be someone else with a much tamer but still unacceptable view to the banger boy mob. This your bully into silence assertion defies logic. Pray tell, how exactly do you even bully someone into silence on social media? Did they seize her phone? Did they get her accounts banned? She still has all her social media accounts and her huge following. Also, does Simi seem like a kid that can be run off social media? Who exactly in the past few years has been bullied off social media and stopped posting? Has ulxma stopped posting since she made that tweet that all men deserve to die cos the world would be a safer place without them, and men piled on her? Okay. assuming they even silence Simi, what about the million others who share the same opinion as her? Will they all go quiet and stop posting too? See social media no be army barracks wey commander go order hin soldiers to shut up, and dem go shout yes sir, and keep mute. Also, the way you frame this thing, e come be like say Simi na one innocent bystander as na only online reacters you dey blame. It completely removes Simi from the equation like she dropped a take from heaven and people are attacking her for just existing. No accountability at all. Lastly, NO ONE CAN CREATE AN ECHO CHAMBER ON NIGERIAN SOCIAL MEDIA SPACE. You know why? Different camps dey, Agba John Doe/Wizarab and his Menist clique, Moechevious, Ulxma and the feminist coven, others in other spheres etc. So there can never be one dominant voice or narrative on Nigerian SM because all these forces/groups will challenge and counterbalance themselves. Every situation stands in its own context, and the reactions elicited will depend on what was said, how it was said, and who said it. any motivated clown can pick anything from peoples post because of agenda. some jokers on this platform have tried to insinuate that i am gay because i have said i dont support persecution of gays. you saw a clown try to claim i am a religious bigot. imho what has happened is SM is a medium where a lot of people who have no power in the real world have some sort of power and will look for people to bully especially if those people do not conform to their narrow world view.True but that is not what has happened in the Simi case. Again, a simple acknowledgement of the weaponization of false rape accusations wouldn't have diluted her message and would have quenched the fire. She no wise the most visible people attacking her are those digging out tweets from 20 years ago. those who are making up stories of her molesting toddlers, those who are trying to destroy her marriage to AG, those who are trying to get her visa revoked. on top of what? a hot take? disagreement? With that post, Simi entered culture war territory and both camps have diehard extremists. Typically, once an issue enters culture war territory, logic disappears, identity takes over and people start fighting for their sides Also, there's no telling how far the extremists will go in ideological battles because the loudest and most outrageous become the face of the fight driven by the engagement and clout they receive. i have had a set of clowns who were cloning my moniker and going round posting different hot takes. these are people who started stalking me because i have views different from theirs.Pele abi wetin you want make I talk? 😁 Social media is designed like this. you can even see right here on nairaland where topics will be renamed to push engagement and draw outrage. There was a post on FP last week where regina daniels said she bought her mum two brand new cars. i chimed in, nothing the cars we definitely not brand new. later i realised that in the original topic, regina had said she bought her mum two cars. the topic was DELIBERATELY changed to two BRAND NEW CARS because that make an otherwise basic topic into heavy engagement where e would all knock regina daniels for being fakeYou are mixing too many things together and unnecessarily conflating issues. Focus!. You are blaming moderators for the topics they push to frontpage. You want govt to hold tech moguls on the blokus so they can draw syllabus for Nigerian Social media. You blame the algorithm for your short attention span. You blame skit makers for broken windscreens. You blame influencers for children’s behaviour. You blame Elon-era moderation for why the backlash escalated. At what point do people take personal responsibility? Social media amplifies drama so headlines get tweaked to draw traffic and engagements. We know that. But this particular issue did not start because of China’s TikTok model or Nairaland frontpage topic. It started because somebody got involved in a culture war and said something that people strongly disagreed with. Everything else you're adding is noise. its easy to knock simi because false rape accusations are a sensitive issue. but that is not what this is really about. it is about shutting up people who do not share the opinions of the banger boy mob. today simi , tomorrow someone who says women are as competent as men in the work place.Again, nobody, no group can shut down anyone from stating their opinions on social media. I don talk this one before. It's also about false grape accusations because the story that caused Simi's outburst turned out to be false. How can you not acknowledge that? PS: I will not be responding further. |

He is the highest profile military officer Boko had offed and it speaks volumes how lax the security architecture has been lately. |
