This is a complete waste of resources, if a military man is sick does it need a separate kind of hospital? A doctor is a doctor so long as you are well trained. |

Great initiative by the honourable minister. It's long overdue we needed well trained army doctors. |

saintopus:Smh. You are not making sense. I thought FG has stopped setting up new institutions to enable it focus on existing ones. |

Continue establishing colleges meanwhile when they graduate you pay them peanuts. The money you'll use to establish this college why not use it to invest in the hospitals and increase medical workers payment so you politicians won't need to travel out for treatment. |
| Re: FG Moves To Establish Armed Forces Medical College by Shimbo96(m): 7:15pm On Feb 26 |
saintopus:can you carry a regular doctor to the battlefield? If you have nothing meaningful to contribute next time keep quiet... Only a military doctor can deal with trauma those soldiers face on a daily basis so relax and go to another trend to voice your irrelevant opinion. |

| Re: FG Moves To Establish Armed Forces Medical College by Tenses: 7:40pm On Feb 26 |
In America it's called Uniformed services University. This university serves the Army, Navy, Air Force and U.S. Public Health Service. But over here you'd have army medical college, maritime university, naval medical college, airforce medical school etc. all these fancy names just to embezzle funds and continue their wastage in governance. Why can't they sum up all these medical colleges into one university like the Americans do? It will help manage funds and other resources. |

saintopus:Have you heard of combat injuries? These are not injuries civilians are exposed to. How many hospitals in Nigeria are equiped to handle injuries from mines. IEDs. mortar rounds. high-calibre bullets from mounted HMGs, etc? This kind of specialized medical training for the army medical corps is LONG OVERDUE. |
| Re: FG Moves To Establish Armed Forces Medical College by PresidentAde(m): 7:51pm On Feb 26 |
saintopus:.. . Yes officers need specialised treatments..... Combat injuries needs specialists and specialised hospitals & colleges for research & co. |

saintopus:I don’t even think you read the article and more also the establishment is long overdue. There are trained military medical doctor in the world, they go to battlefield with the military not just ordinary civilian doctor that lack knowledge of war skills. You don’t have to be just bitter to condemn the government, think very well everything shouldn’t be about politics. Thanks 🙏 |
| Re: FG Moves To Establish Armed Forces Medical College by bjdon: 8:32pm On Feb 26 |
Pemisire2020:Please show me a SINGLE Federal govt owned hospital that is well equipped. Not a single teaching hospital, even the National Hospital in Abuja does not stock common snake venom! We need to stop lying to ourselves. Nigeria does not need any new hospitals from the FG, the existing ones need to properly upgraded and maintained. BTW there are already MULTIPLE military hospitals all over the country |

Can you imagine how data Boys swapped on this thread with their empty brain, praising every nonsense the govt does. The NDA is a degree awarding institution, can't they attach a department of medicine/medical college. The Nigerian Army has a university at Biu, can't they use it? |
| Re: FG Moves To Establish Armed Forces Medical College by regenerateman(m): 9:06pm On Feb 26*. Modified: 9:31pm On Feb 26 |
FreeStuffsNG:The FG is not setting up a new institution. The FG is establishing a new faculty of medicine and allied courses from the existing Armed forces universities (NDA, Army University Biu etc) |

| Re: FG Moves To Establish Armed Forces Medical College by Moneyyman: 10:11pm On Feb 26 |
No it isn't. It's a laudable move. Produces more doctors and strengthens the healthcare system. Also provides another pipeline for military medicine research. saintopus: |

This is what happens when you dont leave your village. At least check online to see if other countries have this before showing your ignorance. Military officers need more than just treatment ...they kill people and suffer from psychological trauma...medical training needed to treat them is unique...Veterans Health Care is what it is called. Check online to see how many countries have this. saintopus: |

I get your point. There are rules of engagement when it comes to war. Red Cross is known to help in such times. Medical doctors can do short service as well to function in the military. Shimbo96: |
